Jason Kreis has given RSL and MLS soccer in general quite a bit. His dedication to soccer as a player and a coach is another chisel in the respect movement of soccer in the United States.
AS someone raised on the major sports, I have grown to appreciate soccer. Jason Kreis has a little something to do with that.
Kreis represents himself and the game in a way that I find myself compelled to be interested.
As a player, Kreis was the all time MLS leader in goals for some time. Now I believe he is still in the top 3 or 4 (easy check there).
As a coach he has been fiery in a positive sense. Fans and players respond to him. His team delivered with a MLS championship.
Also, don't forget how close RSL came from the World Cup. With the heartbreak and injuries that have followed the great start this year, RSL has stayed tough. They fight like their coach.
Comfortable or not with the honor of the retired jersey, Coach Kreis has my congratulations.
