Are you serious.. The guy played for the jazz for 2 seasons over 20 years ago?
@Johnson72. Yeah dude. I can barely remember this guy. Was it really 2 seasons? I thought less but you may be right. This guy was terrible. Not NBA ready. He seemed to be in and out of here pretty quick. I guess the only reason why they are making a big deal out of this is because this dude is in serious trouble. If it was something little I dont think the media would care much. Ortiz really did nothing for the Jazz except being a bust.
* sarcasm alert *
You know why this is a story? The liberal lamestream media can't resist reporting the negative.
Call him a bust, but the 1987 draft wasn't all that great for the Jazz. Lots of hype about him, we needed another Mark Eaton, but we got a bust...
1987
Round Pick Player School
1 15 Jose Ortiz Oregon State
2 No Selection
3 61 Clarence Martin Western Kentucky
4 84 Ruben Holmes Alabama State
5 107 Bart Kofoed Kearney State
6 130 Art Sabb Bloomfield College
7 153 Keith Webster Harvard
wonder how much theyre selling his chiapet for after they turn him into a skinhead.
Kofeod was a better player than Ortiz. Yeah, he was a bust, slightly better than Luther Wright but that's not saying much. Very similar to another great Jazz draft bust, Walter Palmer.
