I could not read this story without sharing a memory I hold from my first trip to Salt Lake City in 1984, when I had the privilege of staying at the Hotel Utah. The legion was holding a convention at the time. I made some friends there, one in particular being a bellhop. That Sunday morning he was permitted to escort me to the tabernacle for the live broadcast, following which he guided me around the square and I taped some of the highlights. I am pleased to hear that the building did not come face to face with the wrecker's hammer.
President Hinckley must be very pleased.
I once read the reflections and memories of Keith Merrill, maker of the films "Legacy" and "The Testaments".
He told about President Hinckley's desires for and very significant influence on creating the Legacy Theater as part of the renovations. It was a great story.
