Amy- Another Great year of reporting from you! Norma Carr put softball on the Utah High School map, helping to make it a high school sport- but you have definetly put it on the front page. Thank you so much for all you do for the girls- you really are the best! In 15 years in the softball world I met so many wonderful families and softball players from St. George to Logan. One of the nicest families I had the joy of seeing often and becoming friends with was the Flint's. Mandy was and is my favorite pitcher and player ever. From Deanna, Lindsie, and the entire Nielsen family I want to congratulate Roy High School, McCauley, Mandy, Stan, and the lady that gets so nervous she always looked away when her daughter Mandy was pitching (Judy) and all the Flints. We all love you guys and wish McCauley the best at SLCC. Maybe she can erase Mandy's name in the record book for the conf. She only has to win more than 48 games in one season. (Rick's Jr. College). I graduated from Murray a long time ago but today was perfect. Jay
Congratulations to Roy. That is a good team. The "us against the world" quote was a bit much but I am still happy for Roy.
What a Great Tourney and some really exciting games. Congratulations to all the participants and Way to go Roy!!!!!
No one doubts the great talent Roy had, but respect is earned not transferred.
Great comment @ nellies. That is absolutly correct and they earned my respect by the extra work that they all put in. Weight rooms and Gym's taking extra Batting Practice on their own. Rallying around one another, Supporting the School and the community and all being great student athletes dealing with negative comments all year with a smile. And in the end all that matters is the oppertunity to compete and play against others that share the same passion. All of are states young women are champions and please don't let us petty adults spoil your passions!!! Thanks Utah Girls for a great season!
@lovethegame - thanks for the insight. I just want to point out that is most ironic choice of words: "community".
@nellies- Another dynomite drop in and it was not irony, but fact, that Roy High is a Terrific Community!
Nice spin @lovethegame. Roy High does have a terrific community. Only community is defined by locality. Great season though!
