That was a classic. Great season and congratulations alta. State Champs!!!
Great win Alta. Great effort by Brighton
very very very very fun game to watch. full of surprises and great soccer.
congrats to both teams. greatest brighton alta game i have ever seen. the sportsmanship was incredible from both teams, the soccer was great, the talent was high and shown. the drama was incredibly high. by then end of regulation everyone had this feeling of "may the best team win." again, probably the best soccer game i have ever seen at the high school level.
I'd agree about the sportsmanship from the players but i sat right above the brighton coach and he was a little..umm....interesting.
Alta......Power......Woo woo woo woo woo woo woo...
The Brighton coach does do a lot of talking and yelling at the refs. He does it so that his players don't have to. Brighton and Alta both have good sportsmanship. Great season for both teams.
It's not just about how you win, its about when you win, coach Mitchell has won championships the past two decades, 12 total men's and women's state titles so far..no other soccer coach is even close. Before any other sport Alta is a soccer school first.
The coach yelling at the ref so the players do not have to does not make it right. Running up and down the sideline chasing the A/R does not make it right either. Both teams are friends off the field. makes it better game.
I saw both coaches chasing refs to make their views known, and each got animated with the refs at different points in the game. To imply that only the Brighton coach did this is disingenuous. Both coaches are competitive. They both run successful, excellent high school soccer programs.
Congratulations to both teams for an exciting and well-played game.
You are right about both coaches. They do do that. However, based upon their bench location, the Brighton coach was able to do this while Alta could not. These two coaches are probably the most passionite coaches you will find in Utah. saying that, there is a need to respect the refs in the game. They are only trying to do their job the best they can. Yelling at them does not make them change this call, but may influence the next one.Perhaps many coaches should watch the Man U Barca game to see how coaches should act to respect the refs. Alta did stay in their coaches box for the most part.
Looks like Alta is a soccer school.......football out in the first round, basketball out in the second round (won play in game), baseball???? lol
are they going to announce all state teams?
I mean all tournament teams
