Vern Law, a long time family friend, and Harmon Killebrew. Two men it wouldn't hurt anyone at all to emulate. Two great examples of class, humility, and hard work. Add to the mix Dale Murphy. I recommend, if you can find it, the book 'Harmon Killebrew: Baseball's Superstar' written in the early 70's. I also recommend 'Kiss It Goodbye: The Mystery, The Mormon, And the Moral of the 1960 Pittsburgh Pirates'. Both good books with great insight into these two men.
Harmon Killebrew was the first Mormon athelete I came to realize when I was a little kid. My dad was always excited to see him play on TV. I remember telling my friends that Harmon Killebrew and I went to the same church even though we lived at least 1500 miles away.
