@utesovertideI'm not worried about it. I know I'll be seeing my team

is a big one. Once the pac10 network is up and running then I am sure you will
get to see most of utahs games provided the cable and sattelite providers pick
that channel up which is no sure thing either. But it is pretty
obvious utah will not be at the top of the list for ESPN or FOX games so getting
the pac10 network up and going is going to be very important to utah fans, more
so than it will be to the fans of most of the other pac10 schools. It remains to
be seen if it will be of any better quality than the Mountain network as well.
But for this season at least it looks like you guys may not even see
1/2 to 2/3rds of utahs games. As of now there is only one of them you know you

However, due to recent actions by the BCS (ordering the Fiesta Bowl to pay 1

Reading these posts is like taking your sister to Prom. Not a whole lot to brag
about here. Really looking forward to seeing BYU on ESPN this year. Go Cougars.
@DuckhunterDon't worry yourself. I'm not worried. I just want
someone who knows to tell me what the plan is so I know what kind of TV package
I'll need to have for this season. We know the future seasons are taken care of
since we'll have games on FOX and ESPN, so no special packages needed there.Besides, the Utes made it this far and to a BCS win while being
relegated to the dismal MTN network's obscurity. If it happens that we're on
the Pac 12 network 80% of the time, I don't really care. We've been nationally
successful before without the 'exposure' some BCS schools have. But
again, the network doesn't start for at least another year, so it's kind of
irrelevant to the issue. We have some big home games this year and I doubt the
Pac fans of those schools are going to be ok with non televised games.
@utesovertideWell like I said it can only be one of those two
things. Either Utah owns their home rights this year or else the pac10 owns
them. If Utah owns them then they should be seeking to make some kind of deal to
get them on tv. Since there has been zero news about that being the case then I
am assuming the pac10 owns them. With that being the case the fact none of them
has been chosen to be televised at all should trouble utah fans. I'm serious
about that it should really be a worry.Even if there is some clause
about this in the existing contract the principles are all the same.
Fox/ESPN/Utah/pac10 so it would be no real problem to arrange for utah home
games to be shown. My guess is that utah will wind up with a home
game or two televised this season but once again this makes them appear to be no
more than an afterthought and that isn't a promising thing for utah fans that
want to see games. It looks now like utah may spend alot of time on the pac10

For BYU and Utah the possibility for a major bowl still exists. Ironically, the

your team. Irrelevant before fall camp even starts. That's you.
BYU fans will finally be able to watch all the games- whether on ESPN or not- it

Neither of you guys will be in a major bowl this year.

I'm not too worried about the Utes not appearing on ESPN this year. Whether the
games are on ESPN, Fox regional, or some other sports outlet, it's still going
to be a lot better than the MTN was. The Utes are the new kids in the Pac-12 so
it stands to reason that they have to earn their way into the prime TV slots.
Also, if Utah can continue winning like they have the last few seasons, then I
have no doubt that more games will be picked up later on in the TBD slots.
I am glad this will be on ESPN2; I can't wait to see the game in HD. Thanks

with the PAC. No promises about exposure.Just money.Personally, I would guess had it been Texas that joined the PAC, Texas would
be on TV.I would also guess that many of the PAC presidents recieved
(wink wink) concessions to allow Utah the invite, which might have included a
commitment about TV appearances.I don't think of it as a slam

@devlishuteWell I suppose that is possible but I like my theory
better. LOLEither way we can dismiss those opinions.
Hondo is obviously a Ute troll in Cougar clothing... probably Chris B's
alter-ego or her kid brother. As far as Utah not having any games
scheduled on ABC or ESPN, it had nothing to do with rights, but everything to do
with lack of interest.
@Duckhunter - reasonableUTE's story is every bit as ridiculous as Hondo's. No
one is claiming he is a BYU fan acting like a Utah fan, although he very could
be. I've read Hondo's post all over BYU articles and he seems to be
one of the crazies that buys everything hook, line, and sinker like HH or Chris
B do with Utah stuff. If Hondo isn't a BYU fan, then Chris B and Ken aren't
Utah fans. Both of these groups say ridiculous things.
@utesovertideThere are only 2 possible answers to that.One...the pac10. Two...utah itself.They are no longer
in the MWC so the mountain has no any rights to them. Evidence? BYU is no longer
in the mwc and sold their rights for this year to ESPN. Obviously the mountain
has no claim.utah is now part of the pac10 so it stands to reason
they are subject to the pac10's existing contracts. Just because they aren't
getting paid for it doesn't matter. Evidence? They aren't getting any money next
year either which is the 1st year of the new deal and they are obviously bound
by that deal.If utah owns their own rights this year then they could
cut some kind of deal for their home games with someone. Even a local station.
We have heard nothing of any such attempt. That means either the pac10 owns them
or else no one wants them.Like I said before one of the networks
could give them a pittance and they'd take it, better than nothing huh? But they
obviously don't want them. It is obvious they have no value on their own.
@devlishuteIt is pretty obvious by now that hondo is a ute fan
posing as a BYU fan.
Alright finally we are getting somewhere here with the funny stories about a
family bumming tickets off the parents for years after leaving the house (or
maybe not). Do you just randomly show up to BYU games wearing Ute gear? I
think I would protect my kids as well if a BYU fan showed up decked out in his
gear to a Ute game when they were playing Wyoming. Something about stalking and
obsession come to mind.
reasonableUTE"on the day of the rivalry game I showed up in
UofU gear and sat next to the daughter of this family (I had sat next to her
every game for several years). her father gave me a dirty look, and switched
spots with her so he could protect her from the evil ute fan."So you're basically saying that after several years of sitting next to this
girl, suddenly her father had a problem with you simply because you were wearing
UofU gear? Sorry, not buying that you're telling us the whole
story."I was forced by my parents to go to the games in
exchange for tickets to the rivalry game."Instead of mooching
off your parents, you should have stayed home and bought your own ticket to the
rivalry game.Doesn't sound like you're reasonable at all. Sounds
more like you're just looking for something to whine about.
@Hondo - Your story is every bit as ridiculous as reasonableUTE's story. Are
you claiming that the Utah fan you gave your tortillas to was toting around a
tub of nacho cheese and this nacho cheese toting Utah fan was hoping that some
BYU fan would have an extra bag of tortillas to hand out?
utesovertide: "Who owns the rights to Utah's home games, Utah or the Pac
10"Does it really matter? Except for the Montana
State game, all of Utah's home games are conference games. Does anyone believe
that if ESPN had wanted to broadcast one of Utah's conference home games, Dr.
Hill wouldn't jumped at the opportunity, even if Utah owned the rights?

I don't believe that reasonableUTE is telling the truth, either. I've never met
a BYU fan that mistreats fans from another team, especially Utah. In fact, one
year I gave the bag of tortillas I planned to throw during the game to a kid in
a Utah sweatshirt so that he could dip them in his nacho cheese.
reasonableUTE....Give me a break. You go off as the 'Polite Police' then come

You are saying both schools have bad fans, but BYU fans are worse. "evil
ute fan". Yep...I believe your story. LOL
What's up with the DesNews reporting? We get two paragraphs that simply
regurgitate information from ESPN. How about answering the questions many
people have posted here on the board? Namely, what is the television situation
for the U for the 2011 season? They don't fall under the Pac 10 deal,
and the new Pac 12 deal starts next year. Who owns the rights to Utah's home
games, Utah or the Pac 10 (Since we join this summer)? Has Chris Hill been
negotiating TV contracts (can he negotiate TV contracts) for the U's 2011
season? If not, who is?I'm not even a reporter and I can think of a
dozen or so questions to ask Chris Hill about this subject. In
answer to those saying the home team has the rights to the TV contract, that is
true if you are not part of a league or if your league allows it. Utah/BYU
would have LOVED to sell the rights to the rivalry game, but remember, that
pesky MTN TV contract from our conference didn't allow it. So your statements
are not completely accurate.
Larry Scott HAD to add 2 teams to make a Championship game. He has watched the
SEC and Big XII pull in loads of money from championship games. That is also why
the Big10 is going that route as well. Also, look at all the times a PAC 10 team
got ripped from a BCS games and even title games. Like Nebraska taking the spot
from Oregon even after they lost the Big12 title game, or in USC being left out
in 03 despite being #1 in both polls. My favorite was Cal being 'leaped' by
Texas in 04 to go to the Rose Bowl. The extra game usually gave those teams a
chance to jump up. With a 10 team conference it did not work, so they had to
expand to keep up. Adding CO and UT made sense. Had to be a team in the west.
The Utes and their BCS games were a good fit with the PAC 10 schools
academically as well. A No-brainier for the Utes to make the jump..Congrats.
That beings said, you are merely a pawn for the conference. Sorry, it is just
the way it is.
Ute fans are mad. But why? You have the pac12. Sure theres a really good chance
you wont even get to see your games, but at least you are at the "big boy
table". Because when it comes right down to it, its not about
actually watching your team play, its about pounding your chest that you are in
the pac12 and then reading about your game in the paper the next day.
let me tell you all a story... I am a utah fan, living in Provo. My
grandparents are byu fans, they give my family byu season tickets for football
and basketball. I was forced by my parents to go to the games in exchange for
tickets to the rivalry game. we had sat next to the same family for years. on
the day of the rivalry game I showed up in UofU gear and sat next to the
daughter of this family (I had sat next to her every game for several years).
her father gave me a dirty look, and switched spots with her so he could protect
her from the evil ute fan. he then proceeded to talk trash to me throughout the
game while I sat quietly and politely as I always do... This is a
classic example of what this rivalry does to people. I am not saying that this
applies only to byu fans, it goes both ways. some byu fans are idiots, some
utah fans are idiots. We should all take a good look at ourselves!
fellas, FELLAS... lets all calm down for a second and take a look at the guile
spewing from our hate filled minds for a second. most of these posts are
largely incoherent and preposterous. I am talking about both byu and utah fans.

@bleederIn case you didn't get it when Veritas and Rockwell
explained it to you I'll give it a shot as well. The HOME teams tv
contract decides what network has the option on the game. Half of utah's pac10
games this year are on the road so all of those games fall under the existing
pac10 tv deal and if the network that has that deal wanted to broadcast any of
those games they could. Obviously they didn't want any of them so that tells you
right there what they think about utah. There is also the small fact
that just because utah isn't getting any revenue from the current deal doesn't
mean they aren't still part of it. They are now in the pac10. They are no longer
in the mwc. If the current network wanted to they could broadcast utah's home
games as well and simply don't want to. At minimum I'm sure they could offer
utah some pittance for their home games this year and utah would jump all over
it. Obviously the network doesn't even feel that is worth doing.

find any of Utah's games compelling enough to be selected for a national

would want their games on ESPN. How funny is that that the Kewgs have 4 games on
ESPN. Might as well be on the Mountain Network. LOL. In the meantime your big
brother Utes will be on Fox Sports, KJazz or maybe the Mountain. Big time baby.
It's great to have the BYU/Utah rivalry game back on ESPN. Nobody here will ever
miss the MTN. A mid-September game will take some getting used to.
It would have been better if the PAC 12 had allowed the Colorado/Utah game to be
played in September, so BYU/Utah could have continued to be played in late
November. USC and Stanford always play Notre Dame later in the season so there's
already presedence in the PAC 10 for OOC rivals to be played during the
conference season.Regardless of what some shortsighted Utah fans may
say, Colorado will never replace BYU as Utah's biggest rival. The
"rivalry" Utah and Colorado once had 60 years ago is meaningless.
Cougar fans, just keep spewing whatever garbage makes you feel better about
having to go independant after being left behind. Ask Arizona State if they
would have been better off staying in the WAC even though they've been to one
Rose Bowl since jumping ship to the PAC 10. We are going to the adult table,
where we are better off than we were, and better off than you are, even as an
Good times! Thanks for the laughs everyone.Yesterday after this news
broke I went straight to a ute fan at my work and we are both very excited that
we dont ever have to worry about the MTN Network or VS or CBSC or whatever
obscure channel they have connections with ever again. Lets face it,
its fun to be out in the wide world that is NOT the MWC. Congratulations to Ute
and Cougar fans alike! This is HUGE! (thats what she said)Go
Its a good thing those Utes got that huge TV deal and are going to have a
national exposure 1 to 3 games a year isn't national exposure by the way.
As much as I like to make fun of utah fans the truth is I like that Friday after
Thanksgiving game date. I think that is a great day to hold a game and if it was
BYU playing that day I would definately go or watch it on tv if it was a road
game. It would be better if it were an afternoon game instead of an evening game
however. Still I don't know if it will have much for ratings. That
is a big shopping day, biggest of the year, alot of people will be going on
dates, many will be out of town, etc. Also neither of the schools is much of a
ratings draw anyway. So while the date is probably good for fans of the 2
schools I don't think it does much of anything for anyone else.
Ernest T. Bass | 8:14 a.m. May 11, 2011 Bountiful, UT I just heard
on another board that they are going to rename ESPN, they will change the name
to BYUTV. ===You "hear" things on message boards? This will be a great game. It's great to have access to it.
I just heard on another board that they are going to rename ESPN, they will
change the name to BYUTV.
Although this shows that BYU has a better reputation with ESPN and that the
ratings expectations are higher for BYU nationally, there are still a few
"TBD" games on the ESPN/PAC schedule that could feature Utah if they
are having an outstanding season and are the hottest team in the PAC. Wait
until the season is over before filling out the report cards.
only on national television once, a top 25 team??? How can than be? A game with
BYU. Very interesting
Say what you want detractors but these games alone are still more than I was
able to watch all of last season.
finally something we can both cheer about!
I am not surprised, or offended, that Utah is "under-represented" on
the upcoming fall's Pac-12 TV schedule. Many of the tenured teams, and CU, have
larger fan-bases, and most have been on the national radar for longer. But if
Utah is able to be successful, I am confident that ESPN and FOX Sports will give
them more air-time.Who can complain about that?
At least Utah will be on ESPN once this next year. I think KJazz has some open
time for the Utes.
Magna Ute Fan | 4:19 p.m. May 10, 2011 Magna, UTThat's rich.
Check out your home schedule, New Mexico State, Idaho,Idaho State, Utah State,
San Jose State. Couldn't you find another WAC patsy?-----------Already scheduled a Ute, Patsy.
re: CGColorado played its rival Nebraska the day after Thanksgiving
for 15 straight years. Since they both won't be in the big 12, Colorado asked
if they could start playing their new rival the day after Thanksgiving. This
will probably be the case every year.LOL at your comment making fun
Mount Olympus Don't be silly, cheeseman187 was obviously talking
about the BYU/TCU game.Midday on Black Friday, lost amidst the chaos
of Christmas shopping and large family gatherings, is hardly the ideal time to
attract a large national audience, especially if the game isn't being broadcast
on one of the major networks.Friday night would probably be better
for fans watching on television, but how many fans would show up at RES on a
Friday night in late November?
Mount OlympusIt's one thing for fans to make a special effort to
watch a game like Auburn vs Alabama on a national network. It's quite
another thing to expect droves of casual fans to be tuning in to watch Utah vs
Colorado. Besides, how many fans will even have access to FOX Rocky Mountain
Mount OlympusWho's "we", you're a Utah fan.Utah State became an independent without even having a decent local television
contract, let alone a national television contract with ESPN, and with no
ability to broadcast their own games. As far as Nelson; BYU didn't
steal him from the Aggies, he made his own choice to leave Utah State for a much
better program. Riley is a good athlete and BYU will probably find some way to
take advantage of his skill set, but he has practically no chance of ever being
BYU's starting QB again.
re: cheeseman187Since when are the Utes playing TCU?Good to
know that if Utah was playing TCU, that its biggest draw would be BYU fans.Isn't this article about both Utah and BYU?
Well of course TCU/Utah will outdraw the Utah/BYU game. It has THREE fanbases
watching.1) BYU's 2) TCU's3) ...and Utah's My goodness, just look at the comments on every BYU article on every website
ever. BYU really does have a bigger following.
re: swoopyeah, no one watches football games on black friday.
Remember last year, Auburn vs Alabama? Best game of the year day game on black
friday. Not saying Utah vs Colorado will be a great game, but day and time not
a big difference than having it on a Saturday.
Mount Olympus There's a reason they call it Black Friday.Utah and Colorado fans might enjoy the game, but it won't come close to
drawing the national media attention that BYU's Friday primetime game versus TCU
in Dallas Cowboys Stadium will draw.Better hope they don't make it a
night game in late November, because that could be brutal.
re: scenic viewYes, but right now BYU is 10 years behind us. We
were independent in 2001, just like BYU is independent right now. You can have
Nelson, we don't want him. Borel was so much better than Nelson will ever be.
Keep trying to steal our missionary football players. BYU is playing about as
many WAC teams as we are this year!
"Can't wait for USU to blowout BYU again!"You're going to
be waiting a looooooong time.
USU..."Can't wait for USU to blowout BYU again!"Don't hold your breath.Utah State has only beaten BYU 3 times in
the last 32 years.
Re: CGThe Utah vs Colorado game is on Friday, the day after
thanksgiving. Most people are not working that day, perfect day to have a
football game. I actually like having the game on Friday that week instead of
Wally West "3 Games on Friday? Not on Thurs or Sat when the big
boys play? What is ESPN thinking?"All three of BYU's Friday
night games will be prime time, nationally televised games on ESPN. BYU always
plays Utah State on the Friday before conference weekend and the TCU game in
Cowboys Stadium is a made-for-television game.Unlike Utah's Friday
home game vs Colorado with time and television still TBD.So much for
Utah and their new "rival" being big boys.
Can't wait for USU to blowout BYU again!
Coleby Clawson changed the picture, for Sam Bradford and Oklahoma Football.Oklahoma came into that game disrespecting BYU.The word in
Provo is "Undefeated".Looks like there is only 6 teams on
the schedule worth any worry at all...There's no LB's at
Mississippi, Texas, UCF, Oregon St., TCU or Hawaii that could do the same to
3 Games on Friday? Not on Thurs or Sat when the big boys play? What is ESPN
thinking?Man, if I were in C-USA or the WAC; I'd be upset at being
bumped for an independent.
Three things missing here, HH, Chris B on posts and utah on the schedule of
pac10 games. Colo is, where or where is the u.
Yes! Now its time to get Cable TV. With the game starting at 7:00 pm mountain
time, we can catch the game on TV and then also catch the high school game.
Football Friday will just start earlier. Glad to see them on TV. Go
Coug fans better start preparing to "Storm the Dorm" with Rod Gilmore
& Joe Tesitore on ESPN Fri night. All the bluster, from both sides of the
rivalry, about exposure and national tv appearances needs to stop. It's a tad
embarassing to see two fan bases go at with one another over such a trivial
matter. Exposure and relevancy take care of themselves when you win ballgames.
The pithy comments made by Hedge, Veritas, Ducky, ChrisB, Bluto, etc on the
DesNews comment boards aren't going to lead to W's on the field for the Men in
Red or Blue. Time to grow up people.
Bottom line:I agree, some Ute fans are definitely delusional. It goes both ways. Any fan of either side (including MiP) is naive if
they think otherwise. It is especially apparent when people can post comments
while hiding behind the computer screen. Back to the subject at
hand, compared to last season, BYU is looking really good. In addition,
multiple games on ESPN and zero games on the MTN is much better than last year's
MiPYou could also say that Utah fans like to take out of context and
misquote BYU fans all the time. Please provide a copy of a post where
a BYU fan has suggested that BYU is the preseason champ any year. Or a quote
please where a BYU fan has said that they are television's #1 show. Or that
Heaps will lead BYU to a BCS game with a 10-2 record. Or a quote that Beck will
lead the skins to the Super Bowl. What you have done is given us
proof that there are a few Utah fans who like to make up stories about what BYU
fans say. Let's just agree that there are unrealistic fans from both sides of
the rivalry, but we don't need to paint a whole fan base with a broad brush.
Mildred in Fillmore | 3:54 p.m. May 10, 2011 Salt Lake City, UT How many Friday night games are we going to have? Looks like ESPN took BSU off
the Friday night schedule and just added us on. Thankfully the Utah game is
still on Saturday. Mildred,We only play 3 friday night
games (2 home and 1 away), the Utah State game is annually played on the friday
of conference weekend so thats not a surprise. The only other home game on
Friday is against Central Florida and then we have one road game against TCU on
Friday. The rest of the games will be played on saturday. Not bad at all if you
ask me, especially for our first year in Independence.
Im a little surprised this one will be on Espn2 instead of Espn, still beats
watching it on the MTN.
MiPAre Ute fans not delusional?
Mount Olympus | 6:02 p.m. May 10, 2011 Salt Lake, UT "Why does
everyone think BYU is going to be so great next year?Weren't they 6-6 last
year?"You are correct. But that's what BYU fans do. You live in
Utah, you know that.Television's #1 ranked show from here on out.
Heaps will lead them to the BCS despite a 10-2 record. BYU over Utah by 41.
Beck leads Washington to the Super Bowl. And those are just the
predictions I've read today. For Y fans, they've been the preseason
national champs for the past 25 years. I suppose, at least they are
One other thought. I just can't wait for the recruits to see the Pac 10.2
That thud followed by dead silence you just heard was the epic crash of reality
in Utes sports. The networks never have and never will care about the Utes. I
thought for sure they would throw them a bone with the USC game, but no such
luck. A writer in Cali said he was unable to find any evidence that Utah or
Colorado added $1 to the TV deal. I will applaud Utah for the greatest heist in
sports history though. To get BCS money on somebody else's merits was
unbelievable. Of course, this was not new since they graavy trained BYU in the
MWC and WAC for decades.
I predict that this coming season will be a repeat of last year's...more humiliating losses for the Utes on nationally televised games!
Ken | 4:48 p.m. May 10, 2011Sandy, UTIf Wynn rebounds and the

Hmm... So far Utah only has one announced game on the ESPN family of networks
and that one game is thanks to BYU's contract with ESPN.You're
ALL fans are optimistic (regardless of team). Yes, even Utes.
Utah joins Washington State and Oregon State as the only PAC 12 teams without
any game scheduled on ESPN/ABC.Ouch!Utah's first taste
of reality in the PAC 10.1.1beta
Mount Olympus Your whining makes no sense. You down play BYU fan
optimism for 2011, because of last season's 7-6 record. Then you
criticize BYU's "Quest" season optimism, when BYU was coming off
back-to-back 8-0 MWC, 11-2 Overall, Top 15 seasons.Here's your
answer.BYU had a VERY young team last year, with very tough
competition to start the season, a failed two-headed quarterback experiment, a
Defensive Coordinator who quit on the team at Utah State, and an Offensive
Coordinator who was too timid to let Heaps audible from a run to a pass or to
try for a touchdown after Heaps drove BYU inside Utah's 20-yard line with almost
2 minutes remaining in the game.By season's end, BYU's offense and
defense were both operating on all cylinders. All of the roadblocks from last
season have been addressed. BYU's offense is going to be a well-oiled machine
and BYU's defense will be one of the best BYU has had since Bronco became BYU's
Why does everyone think BYU is going to be so great next year?Weren't they
6-6 last year?1 win over a decent SDSU team, but that was counter balanced
with a loss to USU.BYU should win at least 7-8 games this year because of
their schedule, but I've heard several BYU fans at work and on the radio saying
BYU is going to beat Utah, TCU, and Texas. What is the reasoning
behind all of this super optimism? Is it the same type of hype that was brought
up a few years ago going in to the "Quest" season? I would think it
would be a little less, after finishing 6-6 last season.
Even utah state rates the main network. utah drags us down to the secondary
great news about the byu utah game. But what channels will the other games be
BYU and Utah should love the exposure. Let's hope it's a great game. I'm a ute
season ticket holder and was going to place an order for the BYU tickets. Now
I'm thinking it might be pretty cool to sit back at home, throw a party and
watch on ESPN. See how it looks to the rest of the world. We all know the
BYU-UTAH games are ridiculously exciting live, I hope it comes off that way on
TV.PSUYB:Don't worry about the Utah secondary or any
part of the defense, they will be suffocating as always. I agree that the Ute's
need to worry about the unknown offensive play and Jordan's come back. But
remember, its game three so the Utes will have a warm up game against Montana
State and a huge test at USC. If the Utes end up 2-0 coming in. Same goes for
BYU if they end up 2-0 coming in I dont see a 2-0 vs 2-0 matchup
likely, but it would be great.
Snack PAC,So basically the ONE and ONLY Utah game to be nationally
broadcasted next season is the one in Provo?Other than that, Utah is
nowhere on that list. Ute Fans:Looks like Big Brother is
coming through for you again. You're welcome.

atl134,Normally I would agree with you. For the past.... I dont
know how long, Utah and BYU have played rivalry weekend (the last two weeks of
the regular season). Which means both teams have already played in 9 or 10
games. But this year the game is played in Week 3. Which gives
both teams much less time to develop their new inexperienced players and
solidify their game schemes to best utilize the talent and strengths of the
team. If the two teams would have played in week 3 of 2010, BYU
would have gotten slaughtered. We all saw them go 1-4 due to inexperience.
Luckily we had 8-10 weeks to gain experience and level the playing field, which
resulted in the close and competitive game. With 19 returners for BYU
and only 11 for Utah. Experience plays a huge role in this game. It
could easily be a blow out.
I like it. An evening game puts a new spin on the series. The daylong, okay...
weeklong, build up should make for an exciting game.

I must say, "Thanks, for the memories!!!!" For the past
5-6 Utah/BYU games in Provo, I have purchased tickets for many of my sons and
me. And we have been treated to some incredible games. Remember the snow bowl?
(3-0)? 34-31? Luke Staley breaking away late in the game for the game winner? I
believe it was 4th and long when the Y receiver caught the ball behind our
defensive back which led to the Y winning drive? Surprisingly the last game,
left me with one of the fondest memories. The game was in overtime when the two
U defenders missed the ball by inches with a BYU touchdown winning the game.
NO!!! That was not the favorite memory. It WAS the students and fans mobbing the
field despite the warnings on the PA to not do so. They felt sheer joy!! Even
the one (or more) shirtless!!!! And I was happyt for them.Due to

Your Welcome Utah. I guess you can count on at least one game on ESPN every year
when you play BYU. Honestly though. This will be great for both
schools. Nothing like National TV.
Looking forward to the Cougs laying down the hammer on Utah on Nat'l TV!10 reasons why BYU wins:#1- Heaps-Apo-Hoffman trio. Look for
secondaries to have fits against these tall, fast, and athletic receivers. The
routes should be precise and crisp, which will be very tough for inexperienced
corners to cover.#2- Experienced O-line for the BYU offense. Gave
up only 1 sack to the Utes last season. #3- BYU has three returning
RB's with experience. Running behind a very big and experienced O-Line. New
coach is making huge improvements.#4- 8 returners to a defense that
was top 20 at the end of the year. Add in Kavienga and Fongupo as well as the
return of Pendleton. The front 7 will be the best it has been in years. #5- Jordon Wynn is a bad QB. Does not play well under pressure,
recovering from surgery, brand new offense.#6- No experience at RB.
2 best linemen gone.#7- Brand New Secondary for Utah.#8-
Game is in Provo.#9- Utah returns very little experience at WR.
DeVonte Christopoher is the lone returning starter.#10- Zero
experience in Utah secondary.35-13
Will this be one of the three games next season that will give Utah fans a
chance to see their team play?
