That thud followed by dead silence you just heard was the epic crash of reality in Utes sports. The networks never have and never will care about the Utes. I thought for sure they would throw them a bone with the USC game, but no such luck. A writer in Cali said he was unable to find any evidence that Utah or Colorado added $1 to the TV deal. I will applaud Utah for the greatest heist in sports history though. To get BCS money on somebody else's merits was unbelievable. Of course, this was not new since they graavy trained BYU in the MWC and WAC for decades.
One other thought. I just can't wait for the recruits to see the Pac 10.2 exposure. LOL

"Why does everyone think BYU is going to be so great next year?
Weren't they 6-6 last year?"
You are correct. But that's what BYU fans do. You live in Utah, you know that.
Television's #1 ranked show from here on out. Heaps will lead them to the BCS despite a 10-2 record. BYU over Utah by 41. Beck leads Washington to the Super Bowl.
And those are just the predictions I've read today.
For Y fans, they've been the preseason national champs for the past 25 years.
I suppose, at least they are not pessimistic...
MiP
Are Ute fans not delusional?
Im a little surprised this one will be on Espn2 instead of Espn, still beats watching it on the MTN.

How many Friday night games are we going to have? Looks like ESPN took BSU off the Friday night schedule and just added us on. Thankfully the Utah game is still on Saturday.
Mildred,
We only play 3 friday night games (2 home and 1 away), the Utah State game is annually played on the friday of conference weekend so thats not a surprise. The only other home game on Friday is against Central Florida and then we have one road game against TCU on Friday. The rest of the games will be played on saturday. Not bad at all if you ask me, especially for our first year in Independence.
MiP
You could also say that Utah fans like to take out of context and misquote BYU fans all the time.
Please provide a copy of a post where a BYU fan has suggested that BYU is the preseason champ any year. Or a quote please where a BYU fan has said that they are television's #1 show. Or that Heaps will lead BYU to a BCS game with a 10-2 record. Or a quote that Beck will lead the skins to the Super Bowl.
What you have done is given us proof that there are a few Utah fans who like to make up stories about what BYU fans say. Let's just agree that there are unrealistic fans from both sides of the rivalry, but we don't need to paint a whole fan base with a broad brush.
Bottom line:
I agree, some Ute fans are definitely delusional.
It goes both ways. Any fan of either side (including MiP) is naive if they think otherwise. It is especially apparent when people can post comments while hiding behind the computer screen.
Back to the subject at hand, compared to last season, BYU is looking really good. In addition, multiple games on ESPN and zero games on the MTN is much better than last year's situation.
Coug fans better start preparing to "Storm the Dorm" with Rod Gilmore & Joe Tesitore on ESPN Fri night. All the bluster, from both sides of the rivalry, about exposure and national tv appearances needs to stop. It's a tad embarassing to see two fan bases go at with one another over such a trivial matter. Exposure and relevancy take care of themselves when you win ballgames. The pithy comments made by Hedge, Veritas, Ducky, ChrisB, Bluto, etc on the DesNews comment boards aren't going to lead to W's on the field for the Men in Red or Blue. Time to grow up people.
Yes! Now its time to get Cable TV. With the game starting at 7:00 pm mountain time, we can catch the game on TV and then also catch the high school game. Football Friday will just start earlier. Glad to see them on TV.
Go Cougars.
Three things missing here, HH, Chris B on posts and utah on the schedule of pac10 games. Colo is, where or where is the u.
3 Games on Friday? Not on Thurs or Sat when the big boys play? What is ESPN thinking?
Man, if I were in C-USA or the WAC; I'd be upset at being bumped for an independent.
Coleby Clawson changed the picture, for Sam Bradford and Oklahoma Football.
Oklahoma came into that game disrespecting BYU.
The word in Provo is "Undefeated".
Looks like there is only 6 teams on the schedule worth any worry at all...
There's no LB's at Mississippi, Texas, UCF, Oregon St., TCU or Hawaii that could do the same to Heaps...
Is there?
Can't wait for USU to blowout BYU again!

"3 Games on Friday? Not on Thurs or Sat when the big boys play? What is ESPN thinking?"
All three of BYU's Friday night games will be prime time, nationally televised games on ESPN. BYU always plays Utah State on the Friday before conference weekend and the TCU game in Cowboys Stadium is a made-for-television game.
Unlike Utah's Friday home game vs Colorado with time and television still TBD.
So much for Utah and their new "rival" being big boys.
Re: CG
The Utah vs Colorado game is on Friday, the day after thanksgiving. Most people are not working that day, perfect day to have a football game. I actually like having the game on Friday that week instead of Saturday.
USU...
"Can't wait for USU to blowout BYU again!"
Don't hold your breath.
Utah State has only beaten BYU 3 times in the last 32 years.
"Can't wait for USU to blowout BYU again!"
You're going to be waiting a looooooong time.
re: scenic view
Yes, but right now BYU is 10 years behind us. We were independent in 2001, just like BYU is independent right now. You can have Nelson, we don't want him. Borel was so much better than Nelson will ever be. Keep trying to steal our missionary football players. BYU is playing about as many WAC teams as we are this year!
Mount Olympus
There's a reason they call it Black Friday.
Utah and Colorado fans might enjoy the game, but it won't come close to drawing the national media attention that BYU's Friday primetime game versus TCU in Dallas Cowboys Stadium will draw.
Better hope they don't make it a night game in late November, because that could be brutal.
