I believe that we can block the cellphones and start putting the mule who guide them in prison and make it a flat 10 years for the illegals that cross the borders we may have a chance. I agree that all Washington is worry about is the vote they can get, if the give free passes to the illegals already her, but that will not correct the problem. My Grandparents came to this country through Ellis Island and became citzens of this country, what makes these illegals think they are better than my Grandparents, they need to know that they can't break the laws of this land and get free passes.

What is shameful is Washington won't ever do anything about it on a serious note because that would cost them votes! These people in Washington don't care about its citizens they just care about the bottom line and that's their pocket books and the ego trip!

Wonder if this is a response to some Arizona officials, who claimed border guards were telling them that they are told to scare, but not stop, people crossing the border.

Wait, I thought Janet Reno said that there is no problem with illegal immigration, and that the borders are secure? And the Obama administration is sueing Arizona for trying to enforce immigration at the state level. Could it be that our government is lying to us? And according to pro reconquista/open borders groups (including our own attorney general, chamber of commerce, LDS church, sutherland group, as well as the mayor and sheriff of SLC) there is no problem with illegal immigration. They're all just hard working "immigrants" trying to "better their lives", and if we speak out against this lawlessness we're all called racists. Right?

How long do they all think we will buy into this lie that illegal immigration is either non-existent, or is good for our country?

Migrant Smuggling is classified by the United Nations as a crime against humanity.
Employers who knowingly encourage this industry to flourish are complicit in this crime.
This is why the Chamber of Commerce so adamantly fights against the enforcement of immigration laws as was witnessed at the Utah Legislature.

"Increased enforcement has made it difficult to sneak into the United States, officials say. And repeat offenders caught in the act are more often receiving stiff prison terms, making smugglers more cautious about risking arrest themselves."

    That's good news.

Add drug smuggling to the list of crimes the pro illegal crowd won't admit that illegals commit.

Illegal aliens would walk back to where ever they came from if the government cut off all entitlements and threw employers who hired them in prison for 5 years per occurrence. No work, no freebies, no stay.

If we can monitor cell phones all over the world, we can put a stop to this.

Once people get miles from the border, we just let them go. You want to stop people from coming over the border? Don't let them stay once they are discovered. People won't waste their time if we make it difficult enough.

The fist step to a solution is to stop the Organizations and individuals that are still encouraging people to come here illegally. As long as they do, anything but enforcement should not be discussed.

We have the stealth technology to drop in on Bin Laden and take him out, yet we cannot take care of our own borders. Shameful.

I have a easy way to handle this problem, first of all any one on welfare must take the jobs these people fill to get their welfare. second make it so darn hard for a ileagal to find work thru using 100 percent employee varification. every time a ilegal goes to get a job his or hers finger prints are taken then checked. if no green card past their stay etc they can be rounded up and sent packing. simple easy. So as not to single out any one race every one can be finger printed it might solve some crimes as well.

It's good to see the DN using stories that aren't all sweetness and light about illegal aliens.
Can someone explain something to me. These people are paying $2,000 to sneak into the United States. For that kind of money they can buy plane tickets and tickets to Disneyland, and just stay here after the tourist visa expires. Why do they risk entry through the desert?

"I've crossed eight times..." Unbelievable. Folks, we have a problem here! These are not law-abiding people. And, we are spending a fortune in our tax dollars attempting to manage this illegal immigration, on so many levels. A wrongdoing will never be right, no matter who attempts to spin it otherwise.
