All the pressure is on monterrey in this series. RSL has shown us that they are good enough to win concacaf now it's time to go out and do it.
I can't read Spanish or I might check out some of their press. They definitely have the expectation from fans in Mexico to win this. I am curious about what they are feeling. Are they overconfident? Are they somewhat fearful? Or are they a pretty level team who expects a tough battle? Probably the latter....
Excited for RSL to make more history. Play to win!
Is it 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday yet?
I would like to see some in depth analysis of this match-up. How do we compare to this Monteray club? What do we need to know. Give me more than quotes about how great it is to be in the final. I appreciate the fact that DesNews is covering the team and paying attention to it, but this team has come far enough in this community that it deserves (in my opinion) to get the kind of in depth reporting that other sports recieve.
All of this going on and I still couldn't care less about soccer.
Big game, but RSL looks up to the challenge.
I sure hope they lose!
These next 2 games are massive! Bigger than MLS Cup, really bigger than any National Championship in any sport. All U.S. Soccer fans are behind RSL hoping for the break through to overcome the dominance Mexico has had in our region. A chance to play against the greatest teams in the world for the true world championship is incredible. Thanks for the great coverage!
Is this going to be on TV?
Axle, those more in-depth stories will be coming in the next 32 hours before kickoff.
Yay, the trollers are back!
The is a TON of league support coming from all over the country. I can barely stand waiting for tomorrow and next week. Simon Borg wrote an article about how vulnerable Monterrey may be right now. Real can pull this off!
The game will be on Fox Soccer Channel, as well as the Spanish channel (not sure which one, but I want to say Telemundo). And if you don't get the game on TV, there are a ton of places that are going to be showing the game tomorrow night.
I cannot wait!
In watching Barcelona play Madrid on Saturday, there was a stretch in the first half where Barcelona put together 48 passes in a row...most of them in the offensive half of the field. Madrid didn't touch the ball for over two minutes. What a passing clinic!
Would love to see RLS play with that type of skill and control. Way to go boys...take em down in Mexico!
Re: Can't Wait--about 10 years ago, I was where you are right now, never paid any attention even though my kids were playing. You need to volunteer to assistant coach your kids team, try to learn just a little bit about the game, and see if it takes for you. If not, then oh well--but I think like the majority of people who start to follow the game and understand what it takes to play the game, you'll be hooked.
@Johnson72 Why would you want them to lose? Please explain yourself. This is one of the biggest sporting events in the states history. Olympics being #1 and the Jazz NBA finals run being #2. Why wouldn't you want to see this team win? Is it because you hate soccer? Why even comment on here if that's the case. Have you ever been to a game at Rio Tinto Stadium? It is one of, if the not the best sports atmosphere in Utah. Here you sit on a board wanting your local sports team to lose in a major sporting a event. Whats wrong with you? It's time to get on board my friend! These two games are going to bring a lot of great exposure to our state worldwide. It's time to support your local professional teams.
Looking around the league and soccer sources nationwide will give one a perspective of how big this game has become for RSL.
Utah needs to catch on with everybody else. RSL has a chance to accomplish something as big as anything any other professional team has in this state...in any sport.
I'm already getting nervous about this game. Hope we can represent MLS in the club world cup that would be such a big step for our league.
