Don't see how your comment on Fes helps anything. I am counting on the Jazz
improving next year, and I think Fes will be part of the team's growth. Casting
doubts at this stage does nothing positive. Fes needs to be internally motivated
and learn to play in a way that causes less injuries to himself. Perhaps he will
find the extra motivation this summer.
Jimmer came to my area yesterday for a wedding.Like a vacation.Except we let him into an Institute building so he could work out, for
several hours. He hardly shot the ball. He spent most of the time conditioning,
working on footwork, in essence, his defense. Here's a kid, who is
headed to a wedding in the early, but found time the day of, to work out, make
himself better, and work on his defense.Hay naysayers, what do you
make of that?I think he is going to surprise some people on his
defense. I think you ain't sen nothing yet.Way to go Jimmer.
Starfarer,It sounds like Jimmer may be working on his weaknesses.
Good for him. He will need it.
Meyer is just showing his juvenile side by sticking with his team down south
shtick. As a professional sports "reporter," he's supposed to
demonstrate a little objectivity. He wasn't even creative enough to come up with
that on his own. He stole it from the Ohio State/Michigan rivalry. Of course,
that's common at the U (stolen from Miami), and the fight song tune (stolen from
Canada). It's all good though because the fans enjoy it. At least the MUSS is original.
Southland remarks:Sounds like Kyle Whittingham has a lot more
respect for opponents than Urban Meyers. What a petty remark that he can't bring
himself to say, "Brigham Young University"! Sounds very much like a
couple of trolls (clones) who frequent these blogs. Simply classless!
Meyer still has little brother syndrome.
Urban was given a saints name for good reason. He'll always be a Ute.
@StarfarerIf that's true, then Jazz should draft Jimmer.
Our nurse midwife graduated from BYU law school and said she liked to drink
after dinner wine. Yet she did not when she was a student of LAW. I attended 3
Colleges after being a BYU grad. I will never complain about BYU again. They
are in a class by themselves or could we now say "Independent". I had
3 friends who were cops at BYU. I know what goes on. Go "Honor Code"
it has never been in better light because others now know that at least someone
has a light ON..
The Utah Utes improved dramatically when Urban left. Kyle may attribute Meyer
with whatever he may think he gained from him, but Coach Wittingham has
something in the way of class that the fellow who is now truly from down south
is more than just a little short of.
Meyer's comment was just to be funny.Swoop, are you really alleging
that the Univeristy of Utah stole the "U" idea from the Univeristy of
Miami? Nice. Yale called. They want their hats back.
MiPBYU's "Y" didn't have anything to do with Yale. The "Y" on the mountain was originally going to be
"BYU", so they started with the "Y", since it's in the
middle. After they finished building the "Y", they realized all three
letters together were going to be too big...hence the
"Y".The "U" sign was used by Miami years before
the Utes copied it in 2004.
Actually, MiP, BYU used the "Y" on their helmets first. You can find
it online pretty easily if you'd just look.
What? What does "Jimmer" walking around campus have to do with
Crowton? Not the right time period, not the right sport, not the
right analogy. Lame.Sometimes, I think Brad Rock writes some
interesting side notes, but that, at the top of his game, is all
I've ever read from Rock. It's like he hears something like,
"Jimmer was seen walking on campus with a hoodie over his face" And then Rock needs to find "some" comment on that...so he
makes up somethingridiculous...unrelated even. Tired.
@MiPBYU has been known as, and been using, the "Y" for
decades. The better part of a century actually. utah did copy the
cute little "u" they do with their fingers from Miami.
Neither of those things is even debatable other than by ute fans trying to
pretend they originated something, anything.
hedgehogSeriously, what is this Junior High?!
Bottom Line says, "Meyer still has little brother syndrome."Gotta love the arrogance. Suggesting that a coach who has won two national
championships, won 82% of his games, is 7-1 in bowl games, and won numerous
coach of the year awards feels like "little brother" to the Cougars.
Urban Meyer...sigh...so now we get to listen to this ego-maniac every week. Will
they have a camera at the Meyer home so they can get those shots of his wife
jumping up and down that we had to endure when that guy was the coach at Utah?
Oh man, I'm a BYU fan and have complete respect for what has been achieved by
Utah's athletic department, but really, more Urban Meyer? Please, no.
