He earned it. Incredible shooting, and passing. Plus, he made the cougars a much better team through his play. That makes him a winner.

Because of Jimmer's incredible -- and often almost unbelievable -- style of play, my favorite part was listening to the TV commentators who were not local showing their amazement about how he played.

Thanks, Jimmer, for making it so much fun to watch you. I'm anxious to see where you'll end up in the NBA.

In fairness, Rick Reilly never said Jimmer wasn't a good college player (though he did call his talented team mates pizza delivery guys). He said he won't be an all-star NBA player. Of course, all the scouts thought the same about Nash. NBA talent is very difficult to predict, so I'm not sure why he thinks Jimmer's work ethic won't translate to the pros a'la Austin Collie.

Congrats Jimmer! The Cougar Club should start taking donations now to create the Jimmer wing of the BYU sports Hall of Fame!

enjoy jimmer this year.he has played his last game for byu & it is back to realty for byu fans.Utah has a new coach

Way to go Jimmer! I knew you would get it and you will also get the National player of the year.

The Jimmer Jammer prevailed, yet again, despite ESPN and Rick Rielly leaving that badly 'shanked' article up on their home page, for weeks, in a blatant attempt to discredit him and his 'all world' accomplishments. Didn't work boys.

"Jimmer got Naismith'd!"

What?! Haven't you learned anything in the last six months? Jimmer doesn't get anythinged... ever. Naismith got Jimmer'd, plain and simple. Tre'von, how are your ankles? I hope the swelling has gone down. Congratulations Jimmer and Go Cougs!

Who cares?

This is an article about Jimmer's multiple POY awards this year.

Folks on the hill need to get over their little brother syndrome of comparing everything they do to BYU. If the U is really a "big time" program now, why would its fans care about the "small time" program that they must live in the shadow of?

Congrats Jimmer on a great season!

Have fun in the NBA and prove the naysayers wrong once again.

There may never be another like you. Thank you, Jimmer. It has been one heck of a ride. You have single handedly made BYU Basketball relevent again and now the program is thriving and picking up top recruits left and right.

I will never forget some of the games I saw in person. I saw you torch UNLV, crush Arizona, and completely "Jimmer" Utah. It will be some basketball I will tell my children and grandchild about.

Congrats on all the awards and personal recognition. It will be fun to see where you end up. I wouldnt be surprised if that ends up being 40 miles up the street from the MC. And the way the Jazz are struggling right now, it would be nice to have a guy that can shoot.

Wherever you end up, I will be a fan for life. Good luck, Jimmer!

And in a couple of cold, lonely basements in ann arbor and taylorsville a tear drop splashes onto a keyboard.....

Congratulations, Jimmer. I am delighted that someone from BYU won the Naismith. I hope you go on to greater things, kid. Great season, Cougs.

Congratulations, Jimmer.

I still say Reilly was right.

That makes 5 people.

Thanks for voting.

Congrats on this great honor, Jimmer!

I'd love to see you stand up when you accept the award and not make the usual passing comment about your coaches and teammates. I'd love to see you stop and emphasize how vital each player was on your team, how each player fulfilled the role they were asked to fulfill, including yourself, and how that resulted in the success of the team this year. And then maybe a comment about how individual awards in a team sport seem a little oxymoronic, but that you respect the tradition and appreciate the consideration.

There will always be a few jealous types who refuse to recognize greatness. In the end, their self-serving, biased opinions are nothing but background noise.

Jimmer had a phenominal season and his half-court buzzer beater in his final appearance at the HC will live forever in BYU-Utah basketball lore.

"And then maybe a comment about how individual awards in a team sport seem a little oxymoronic,..."

Until you've dedicated the years and years of hard work necessary to develop the skills to win a national award of your own, you're in no position to be lecturing a player who has.

Orem, Utah

Congratulations, Jimmer. What a great year to be a cougar fan. The future for BYU looks great. Coach Rose and his staff are great. Now I look forward to a good summer of fishn and then BYU Football. Go Cougars!
