It was 42 degrees on opening day in New York, The grass was green, the dirt a salmon color and I could smell the hotdogs . It was the first time ever the Yankees open up at home in March, but as usual they open up their season with a win! Two homeruns to take the lead into a biting wind from right field... Granderson's catch in the 9th was amazing, over the shoulder running away from homeplate staight out to the fence in deep center, Jeter as usual makes his jump throw to second gets an out to save a run for Sabathia, and the defense postioned well in the outfield to take a way a hit in the 7th and give Joba a lift. It is good Girardi has an engineering degree from Northwestern! The season is upon us. If you listen to the baseball at all it will be fun to here again my favorite words of summer...The Yankees win!!!
I'm seeing the Phils winning it this year, atoning for the season of 50 years ago.
