The way to cut down on abortion is to cut down on unintended and/or unwanted pregnancies. That is best done through sex education (including, but not only, abstinence -- in other words, "abstinence-plus" not "abstinence only") and readily-available conraception, and providing assistance to pregnant women so, when their fetusus are born and become babies, they are able to provide for them (and also themselves). Stop, or at least cut down on, the problem -- unwanted pregnancies -- by preventing unwanted prgnancies. THAT is where responsible legislation should be directed.
