Dr. Cramer, you can rest easy. California is the state with the most gun laws while Utah has the least. The population adjusted rate of murder is over 400% greater in California.
Compare Chicago and Washington DC to El Paso, Texas. The former are the two cities with the most gun restrictions. DC had 27 times more murders than El Paso in 2010 despite being the smaller city. Chicago had a murder rate 19 times greater.
The six states with the lowest murder rates have all adopted Shall Issue concealed carry. Utah is among these six states.
