Mr. Florez While I can agree with virtualy all of the
points you make I for one would like to see the process
you speak of in getting the voters involved started
earlier with an mandated civics class in our schools
where the students where taught about their responsibilities
as a citizen.
But I have to say I was disapointed that their was NO
disclouser statement on the web link you provided, (that I could find)
about what organization was providing the web site and sponsering
the petition drive. Open disclouser in politics should be rquired
by all parties involved, There by letting the Citizens make
informed decisions and keeping the rhetoric down to a dull roar.

I completely disagree.

Voters won't fight to maintain open government. In fact, they'll do quite the opposite.

If voters wanted to fight to maintain open and respectful government, they'd make the GOP pay come next election. Out would be Bramble, Sandstrom, Wimmer, and the new speaker.

But they'll continue to vote the same. And the GOP knows it. That's why they can arrogantly stuff completely unconstitutional bills down our throats. That's why reps fear their party leaders more than voters.

We desperately need to take our state back.

Florez is absolutely correct when he says that modern politicians think that the voters are complete fools. What he neglects to mention, however, is that the voters have given good reason for this.

The Founding Fathers knew that the vast majority of voters would never be educated or informed enough to make good decisions. That is why, for instance, they allowed the States to elect senators, rather than the public.

The political corruption mentioned by Florez occurs because the voters let it happen. The general public is too busy playing their video games and listening to their ipods to educate and inform themselves about the issues. The answer is this problem is not a vain effort have the voters pay attention. The answer is to follow the wisdom of the Fathers.

If voter wanted an open government they would do everything in their power to destroy the left-right oligarchy that is ruining the country and taking away our freedoms. If you hate one side but love the other than you are serving this evil oligarchy and they will continue to take our freedoms away because you are playing into they're hands when you vote for on of their controlled political parties.
