I fully expect both of these teams to end in the bottom of their respective
regions... sloppy, ugly ball. I have come to expect more out of Cyprus but
losing all those seniors must have hurt more than everyone thought. I'm sure Bob
will have Cyprus bouncing back playing good baseball soon, but i doubt the rams
are for real.
Wakara, you're dogging Highland for a win against a school that is known for
it's baseball? It's great win for the Rams to start the season.
Give credit where credit is due.
Yeah see i wasn't "dogging" Highland, as a neutral fan, i just gave my
If they don't get blown out by Bountiful, Woods Cross, and Olympus I'll be
Wakara, yes you were.
Really? Where? I said "I doubt they're for real" Thats not taking any
shots my friend, just an opinion. Highland won 2 games last year, what makes you
think they will be better? They lost most of their good players, and Toi isn't
Saying I doubt they are for real and saying it was ugly baseball is dogging
Highland. They won two games last year and have already won one this year. In answer to your quesiton, they will be better than last year. They
proved that yesterday. They will win more than two games and they will be
competitive which is great for that program, given their lack of success over
the past few years. And Highland should be renamed state championship
I think everyone is going to be surprised. They are going to clean a few teams
clocks and then some. surprise!
Good for highland, They are good kids that have always played hard. In the past
it seems like they have had some bad luck and things never tuned out for them. (
In baseball) Not sure they can contend with Woods Cross, Olympus and that
dangerous Stansbury team, but I think they will win games this year. I wish them
The real question that should be asked is: What was more impressive? Highland
beating a weaker Cyprus team or East beating the 5th ranked Springville team
that was the runerup last year. Maybe some pub for the best East side team
would be nice.
BBF1 I agree. East has some great kids that always play hard and were plauged by
some bad luck also last year. You don't beat Timpanogos by accident, you need to
play well. They will be tough. That region will be interesting.
Just checked the scores, and Stansbury spanked Provo, not only spanked them but
Barkdull and Pitts threw a no hitter against them. I saw these two kids at the
BYU/SLCC prospect camp last fall and they can play. I told you Stansbury can be
dangerous. This is going to be a region to watch.I wished more the St
george scores would roll in.
That will be the big challenge for Provo this year is developing a second and
third pitcher to go along with Rhineer on the mound. When Rhineer is on the
mound the Bulldogs can play with anyone. I still see SF as the team to beat and
I hear Snow Canyon down south is also very good. Beating Provo 11-1 bodes well
for Stansbury. They have to be considered a team to watch. I would expect
Springville to be a bit down this year. The Red Devils will still win plenty of
games but placing second in state might be a stretch. Keep an eye out for Salem
Hills and Mountain Crest looks good up north.
Two things:1. The reasons Highland is going to be better this year
are because most of their seniors this year are starting for the second straight
year -the team had very few seniors last year - and the team got a new coach and
worked their tails off in the off season.2. Why is region 6 so tough
in every single sport???
Stansbury just won the Treasure Valley Invitational up in Oregon last night.
Beating Oregon's returning state champs. Improving their record to 6-0. (FYI)
Highland thinks they can beat Stansbury?
