There's no way the Utes win. Lets just get the "L" over with so Hill can fire Boylen and we can move the program along to it's next, and hopefully better, phase. For Ute fans my age who have been spoiled with much basketball success... suffering through the last two coaching regimes has been painful.
T-mac: Rright on!
Riley, you're such an optimist. The Utes stand NO chance of winning. With poor to nonexistent coaching and strategy and kids that can't shoot and can't pass, it is going to be ugly. Get this season over with and get rid of Boylen.
I think Riley is a great play by play caller for the Utes. But he is obviously paid to say nice things, and having this positive attitude about the worst coach in the history of the University of Utah is admirable, but really just down right silly. Finally after four awful years, tonight is the end of what has been the biggest joke job of perceived coaching. Hallejuah it is here, and that press conference better be first thing Friday morning. Don't let the door hit you on the way out to Michigan, you and your u, us, and muss are done! It's a good day to be a Ute!
The sooner the end comes the better.
Make the game close, keep Boylen around until his contract is up and move on to the conference of champions with losing season after losing season. Now that's a plan! Basketball has become, "Utah who?"
I rarely come to Ute stories but had to see Riley's rose colored glasses take.
However, from the first time I saw the Utes I thought they had possibilities. They should NEVER have the bad record they have (yes, coaching). Should the players figure out there are other players on the court, share the ball, stop sloppy streaks and get Foster involved, it wouldn't surprise me to see the Utes pull the upset.
Hope they do. My Ute friends need something to cheer for. 2011 could be a very ugly year in SLC.
"A nice end to what's been a difficult season" will be when they announce that Chris Hill has fired Jim Boylen.
Have they fired Boylen yet? He has had his chance and he has failed. Period. There has been regression, rather than progress, in the program during his tenure. If he is retained, this Ute fan will be looking for a new team to support.
