Hmmm... I might make go down to provo to watch the game tonight!

In other news, Othyus Jeffers got picked up by the Spurs today! I'm really happy for him, I just can't stand that its the Spurs who got him!

Jeremy Evans Should be Starting for the Jazz I mean could it hurt we play like we have no energy.. and he is the only guy that has sparked them in all the games i went to this year.. The nba is just a scam and its all about politics.. to bad! Evans you will get traded and then you will shine, keep your head up.. the jazz r only about the business side of things, and the money. They dont care to much about the game anymore.. and we can tell that you do!

@Sports21

Really? All 196 lbs of him going up against Nene? Did you think that out?

He'll be back. He's developed an outside shot and that is what this team needs. His lack of lateral quickness can be made up for by hustle, effort, length and attitude.

Its not a demotion. The Jazz only had 13 players on their roster and Memo has been out. Well with Favors in town and Memo coming back soon its a good time for him to do down there and play.

GD I can't stand Memo... Why does he get any praise? who cares that he makes 1.3 3pt a game he gives up 10 times more than he's worth. The only way he works is if we have AJ and Millsap or Favors down low and he steps out to the 3 for a few minutes but then who is he gonna guard? Evans is AK but younger and he needs NBA time. We need to be prepped for AK to leave. He's playing much better but still not for 18mil, get him signed for 8-9 to keep him.

Another thing: why did we not go pick up one of these buyouts for some outside shooting? Murphy goes to Boston, Brewer to Dallas, and Bibby to Heat. I never even heard the Jazz mentioned. Typical... Raja is the answer!

His contract is not guaranteed past this season. I hope he can develop and thrive. Good luck Evans!

@Jazz truth- do you not remember how good Memo is? He set a Jazz record for 3's in a season. He hit so many last clutch 3 pointers in the 06-07 season. In 09 Memo set an NBA record by hitting over 20 three's in a month and shooting 67%. No one had done that before. Not Stockton, not Hornacek, not Miller, not Allen, not Bird. Memo is the man.

He struggled last year but he still hit more threes then everyone else except DWill.

Memo also rebounds better than most centers. If Memo-Jefferson were starting I promise this would be a different team. Memo-Boozer were one of the best rebounding duo's in the league. Millsap-Jefferson are one of the worst. David Locke wrote an article about "what would have happened if Memo wasn't injured this year." Very interesting. You should read it.

Lastly, I cringed when I saw AK, Bell, and Miles walk on the floor in the final minute last night. I was hoping Millsap or Harris would shoot. Memo is the man for that shot. He's done it his entire career. High pick-and-roll and.... Money!

This is good for Jeremy. Now, it will be nice to pick up RYAN THOMPSON (6′6″, 220lbs) to cover as our 2nd SG making Gordon Hayward the primary SG. And, Bell? Buy him out (due to his lingering shoulder injury and inability to deliver the SG promises) and hire him as a 3rd Assistant Coach as the Team could continue to use his Leadership. I also am for hiring Karl Malone as the Teams BIG Coach as we need to whip (I meant, Train) these guys the right Jazz old school way of playing basketball in the upcoming seasons.

Developing EVANS as a 2nd SF to Kirilenko (hopefully, we can resign him for a reasonable contract) and, Derrick Favors as a 2nd PF to Millsap. A Malone-trained Fesenko will be our 2nd Center to Jefferson. You can also lock him for the same 5year contract (like suggested earlier). Then, use the upcoming 2-Draft Picks for our PG and WING PLAYER of the future. Should the Jazz buy his current Euro contract, Ante Tomic (7′2″) will come in as our future Center. Wouldnt this make sense?

I am really hoping that the Jazz will quickly pick-up the much improved Ryan Thompson before the other Teams will snatch him away (again) from us as I believe that he could be our next Wesley Matthews. Get him a 5-year Contract (2yrs Guaranteed, 2yrs Team Option, 5th year Qualifying Offer) just like the contracts for Hayward & Favors (see, http://hoopshype.com/salaries/utah.htm)

Cmon, OConnor & Jazz Management. Pull this trigger and perhaps also buy-out Ronnie Price contract to get Ryans in. Why are you sitting on the fence when other Teams are doing this and making noise, making their teams better (ie. San Antonio, Miami, Celtics, Bulls, OKC, Portland, Grizzlies even, Houston, Golden State, Nets, and the Clippers are doing this.)

Making such moves, as suggested above, will still keep your options on whatever you want to do with the NJ Unprotected 1st Round Pick and (hopefully) the Teams 1st Round pick this year. Make the Jazz Nation prouder of you, OConnor !

Ryan Thompson could be the second coming of a Wesley Matthews in the sense that both possessed the Talents, Skills, Hustle, and TOP Plays they brought in from College. And, yet went Un-Drafted. If it were not for the circumstances above, and had he played for the Jazz in the Summer League (instead of Sacramento) he could be in the Jazz Roster from the get go. Do you see their similarities?

The Team got a very good look at him during the Training and Pre seasons. Unfortunately, because Raja brought so much SG promise at that time (and, has DWill & Price playing SGs while grooming Hayward for it) along with over the brim salaries already handcuffed the Management to offer Ryan a spot. Sensing an opportunity, he agreed to hang around town where he developed close relationships with Hayward & Evans, also w/ Raja who mentored him during his brief stay with the Team, and decided to play for the FLASH. By now, his knowledge of the Jazz Playbook has increased and just waiting for his call up opportunity.

With this move, wouldnt the Jazz immediate future be much better?

the Flash - that is where Hayward should be also.

I hope they play Evans at the 3 while he is down with the Flash, he is comfortable at the 4 but he needs to play the 3.
I hadn't heard anything about Thompson, I hope he has been doing well, Prenza, am I to assume because of your comments that Thompson has been doing well in the D league for the Flash? I hope so. I liked his potential before the draft and in the preseason, I hope the Jazz don't let him get away.
1984 for life, Hayward needs to be starting in place of Bell and get his minutes and experience with the big boys, he is playing tough D right now and with more time his offense will pick up.
JFFR: Memo's glory days are in the past and I don't know if he can get back to that level of play. So far his impact on the Jazz has been a big negative, before he started getting minutes the Jazz were playing pretty good and Fes was getting consistent minutes and having a positive impact defensively. I would like to see Fes get more minutes, he helps control the paint.

Ryan is doing well with the Utah Flash. I believe he is currently playing as their 6th Man as theres a bunch of former players still in the roster. Nonetheless, his averaging 23min., FG percentage at 50%, 33% on the 3s, 76% on the Free Throws.

I just saw Coach CORBIN in attendance (streamed on NBA Futurecast) of the Utah Flash game this evening against the New Mexico Thundbirds. Some Sacramento King players were also there (Jason Thompson, DeMarcus Cousin, Pooh Jetters, and 2-others). Hopefully, the guys will deliver - especially Jeremy & Ryan.

At half-time, Jeremy Evans logged 17min (+4), 3of6 FG for 6Points, 4Rbs, 2Ast, 1Steal, and 1Block. Ryan Thompson also logged 14min (+12), 3of8 FG for 8Points, 1Rb, 3Ast, 3Steals. Flash led 60 to 50.

Prenza: What position do they have Evans playing at?

Prenza
Draper, UT

Utah Flash (106-88). Gordon Hayward was also at the game to support Jeremy & Ryan.
Their Final Stats:
Jeremy EVANS had 10points for 34mins on a 4of9 shootings, 2of2 Free Throws, 8Rbs, 2Asts, 1Steal, and 2Blocks.

Ryan THOMPSON had 21points for 32min (longer as Guard Ronald Dupree got injured early in the game and did not return) on a 9of 17 shootings, 2of2 Free Throws, 4Rbs, 4Steals, and only 1TO.

When given the chance to play for the Jazz, Ryan's possible contribution in the 2nd Team as a SG will definitely help our team.

I have a question for Jazz nation... Just where do you want them to go or think they will go?

JFFR
Salt Lake City, UT

@Prenza- a 5 year contract? For a guy who didn't make the team this fall? No thanks.

Maybe offer him a 10-day.

Do you remember Mo Almond? Remember how he averaged 30ppg in the D-League and then couldn't buy a basket in the NBA? He tried out for the Knicks and Magic and couldn't make their team either.

I'm all for the Jazz trying to bring in someone who can hit an open 3 pointer, cause I'm officially tired of being patient with Bell. But a 5 year contract? No way. The Jazz don't have enough money.

One more thing. Jeremy Evans is not the future Kirilenko. He does not have the same skill set or knack for the game. I'm sorry, it's not gonna happen.
