yumpin' yimminie, how much fun is Jimmerie!

If you are reading this Hartsock - get out of this and get back in the gym and practice your shooting. You are in a slump and same with Kyle. Practice and stay away from all those crazy medias/fans. And, your guys need you in the paint and defend hard. You saw Emery working hard and be like him.

Great article. I would love to hear more the thoughts of Jimmer regarding his perception of this circus around him.

By the way ... I was at the New Mexico game. The game DID sell out. There were signs all over the ticket windows stating that the game was 'sold out.'

People snickered up their sleeves when Emery was quoted as saying, "We could go undefeated. We think we can win every game."

The Cougars haven't won every game, but they are on their way to what will probably be the most victories ever achieved by a Cougar hoops team in the university's long and often successful history.

This process has been a hoot for the fans, as well as the team. These young men are good people. They certainly represent themselves, their families, and the university well.

Thanks to the team for a memorable season! Good luck in the remaining ten games (or so)!

It's a magical season for a great bunch of guys who represent the school, the state, and the church very well. I hope they win the MWC and make it to the Final Four. The nation could use a Cinderella story of nice guys finishing well. Go, Cougars!!!

Things are usually much more fun for the Cougars until tournament time comes around.

Enjoy it while you can Cougars.

It won't last long.

And then comes the WCC... not really much to look forward to.

We fans are soaking up the fun as well...this is the "Golden Age" of BYU basketball!

Ditto on the @DEWCougars comment. You players have got to keep your heads and work much harder. There is no time now for coasting or resting on your laurels. The competition is going to get stronger, the defense from other teams more stout, and if you are not progressing in your game, in your shot selection, in your own defense, in your effort, and in your attack instinct, you can so easily be swept away into oblivion and insignificance. It is the finish, not the start, that determines greatness. Keep after it. Keep improving. Keep pushing. Never let your foot off the gas until April 5 in Houston.

Hey, it's been great! But back to some basics:

You "bigs" (tho' you aren't really as big or strong or as athletic as other teams' big guys) - Collinsworth, Hartsock, Abouo, Davies, Anderson, etc. - CRASH THE OFFENSIVE GLASS EVERYTIME; don't take any shot (or anyone's - including Jimmer's - shooting) for granted! Other teams are slowing down their pace, so you don't have to hang back to guard against fast breaks. Follow your shot, get your own rebound; half (or more) of our shots are missing the target.

And box out, box out, box out! I recognize it's harder when you're playing zone, but put your body on someone - anyone - every time!

You're the greatest group I've seen since the early '60s, but "back to basics" still matters as much as X's and O's.

The game this week at TCU will basically be a home game for the Cougs, as it has been in years past.

Howie,

Don't forget that we're also enjoying a pathetic yewt basketball team, complete with 9 out of 10 losses to BYU, Division II colleges, WCC colleges, and I heard even the Provo 138th ward in a scrimmage.

I think BYU needs to jump out to a huge lead and then they need to rest Jimmer a little bit. Teams are really trying to beat him up a little bit. I know he is in the running for the College Player of the Year award but BYU needs to protect him. If he goes down say good bye to a good seed in the Tourney!!!

@Girlse State- I'll try using a typical BYU retort here:

"Until [BYU's basketball] team has a national championship trophy, the [U] will always be the superior program."

Obviously, that argument is greatly flawed. Please remember it come football season.

While Coach Rose continues to build a program that is gaining more and more national prominence every year, the coaches on the hill continue to watch the floundering Utes sink even further into the abyss.

BYU will help raise the stature of the WCC, which will simply raise the national prominence of the Cougars, while the PAC 12 won't do anything to help save the Utes.

I have always wondered if there were really people like Eeyore from the Winnie-the-Pooh books by A.A. Milne.

Thanks for the positive spin...

(How's Taylorsville working out for you? Maybe a change of scenery?)

"BYU will help raise the stature of the WCC"

CG,

Things will never change for tds. Always put in a position of having to validate thier credentials.

Bouncing around in the Non AQ's and mid major ranks seems like a losers game. But the tds wear it well.
Good luck with your perpetual stuggle.

As for Utah...well they don't call it the "Conference of Champions" for nothing.

Sheesh guys, I don't see any players resting - they work their tails off every day. They know things will only get harder. No need to call players out, they know what is at stake.

If you are truly a top 8 team then can't be a Cinderella team.

A second seed team should be a no brainer pick through the first three games in the tournament. Looking forward to seeing just how far the cougs can go.

It's always an additional cool thing when a really talented team is made up of really good guys. Throw in a really cool Head Coach and you have even an easier time cheering for this years BYU Mens Basketball team.

I've got MWC TOURNEY tickets and will be first in line for NCAA 1st round tickets. GO COUGARS!
