This is the type of programing we've come to expect from Britain. Guess that's what you should expect when you turn the media and your country over to those invested in advancing the agenda of the Progressive movement.
Have to quote Alexander Pope when it comes to pornographic sex:
"Vice is a monster of so frightful mien,
As to be hated needs but to be seen;
Yet seen too oft, familiar with her face,
We first endure, then pity, then embrace"
The British show "crosses the line into prurience".
Rare is the man that "purient interests" aren't the principal reason for entering into marriage.
Assumptions are terrible. When will people actually back up with facts that the average American Teenager really doesn't like having sex thrown in their face? And that's not just the religious kids either. My kids' friends are frustrated with the garbage around. They really want to have fun - in a safe environment. The media needs to stop portraying the "innocence" of risky behavior. It's not innocent, and there are more feelings hurt than just two people 'engaged' in such lies.
I bet this show glorifies teenage sex as all butterflies and cotton candy as well. There is so many things wrong with portraying this kind of behavior as okay. There is so much physical risk, and emotional trauma that occurs in the lives of teenagers today because of the thinking that sleeping around is okay.
Religious debate aside, the reality is that there are so many problems that originate with individuals participating in an activity meant for the more the more mature and mentally/emotionally prepared.
Teenage sex leads to babies having babies, abortions, STD's, poverty, the list is endless. We need to stand up to this type of garbage.

You are as wrong as you are offensive. What a weak-minded, sweeping accusation.
This is one progressive who finds this British TV show as nothing but trash, and the last thing our precious kids need to be spending their time on.
I have two points I would like to make.
First, a response to 2 bits: although sometimes the United Kingdom is seen as being more accepting of 'progressive' media influence, the U.S. is not far behind them. We can blame the U.K. for this but I think it is as simple as this... individuals are either those committed to doing good in their work, and those who are not.
Second, although there are those who say that the reality is that sex is a part of teenage life, and ignoring it only contributes to the emotional damage in teenagers as they need support and help to handle these 'real' situations... I simply disagree with this mentality. What's real is that 1) yes it happens, and 2) it causes problems.
The same supporters are airing programs that are about sex, drugs, and impulsive humor and behavior... if they were actually doing 'good' for teens they would be showing a problem-solving approach to prevention of either teen sex, or at least how to work with the problems in the consequences, rather than the 'it's only natural, embrace it, and there are no serious consequences' attitude.
In Britain who cares if a teenager gets pregnant. They have a nanny state that will take care of the kid cradle to grave. There is no consequence for having a child there. Just pass it off to the government to take care of.
Oh, wait a minute....that socialized medicince that the left talks about and drools that Europe has it. They can't afford it. They're borrowing money to pay for the program. It's not self sustaining.
Thank God barack is running the show here, I'm sure he'll find a way to make it work. After all he is the smartest socialists ever!!
Fact is the majority of teens do not have sex. That is a fact.
The progressive movement would like you to believe that everyone is on drugs, having sex, drinking, and becoming beatiful and successful at the same time. did I forget to mention how they try and make you think everyone is homosexual.
The digressive movement has done everything to try and move this country backwards. There are very few projects that actually progresses anything or anyone.
Meanwhile the leaders of this movement pocket the money and could care less about the lives they're affecting.
That's just a fact.
@2bits
Is this coming from a citizen of a country that has the largest porn industry in the world? (Utah being per capita the largest consumer of it)
@ Liberal Ted
You do realise that the UK spends half of what the US spends (GDP) on health care don't you? That covers everyone by the way. We have budget problems in the UK with the NHS but I was paying much less than what I was paying in the States for health care.
There is a difference between "Freedom of Speech" and "Protecting Our Youth" The Constitution gives us 3 things, The Right to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. Mind you, "Sex" sells, but it is not the only thing involved in "Happiness"! It doesn't Liberate anything, and it doesn't give us our right to life. As a matter of fact it promotes the taking of "LIFE" which is a CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT for the UNBORN! Yet "Teen Sex" promotes the killing of the Unborn, thus denying the unborn and the innocent their "Right To Life"! Americans should RISE UP and Boycott ALL SHOWS that PROMOTE, ENDORSE, or "Sell Sex" in any way that is not appropriate for ALL AGES on television! I do not believe it is the Government's Job to do it, afterall they gave us Social Security, the IRS and the POST OFFICE! Coming soon to a hospital and doctor's office near you, HEALTH CARE! I think they have too much already!!! I do believe PORN is an ultra-evil that can destroy lives, even for those who think it serves them well. Lives are ruined by it, plain and simple.
UT Brit,
The fact that you pay less for healthcare does not change the fact that your nation is teetering on a National Health System that cannot sustain itself. Great Britian is a financial mess, and I am amazed the British Pound is still doing as well as it is.
UK spends less because the richer Brits head for U.S. for more advanced medical procedures and services.
@Banker
You know we have a private health care system with private hospitals and doctors as well as the NHS right? Well obviously not.
Health care is getting more expensive as medical treatments improve and people live longer so there are budget problems, I would rather fund the NHS than the invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan for example. What would your suggestion be rather than UHC, an American style system? If I moved back to the States I would be spending more than double than what I am now and my son would never be able to get health insurance. That does not sound like a good deal to me.
The UK is in a financial mess but we are taking steps to reduce the deficit. If you describe the UK as a financial mess how would you describe the US?
One thing you can count on.
If that show was pitched to the US TV Stations, FOX would be first in line to air it.
