"Jazz players C.J. Miles and Deron Williams were on the front row of the Marriott Center, checking out the show." - Brad Rock

Likely hoping the Jazz somehow manage a minor miracle and are able to select Jimmer in this year's NBA draft.

Rock...really??? Who cares about C.J. and Williams being on the front row? Has nothing to do with the game or how it went down. Or for that matter how Fredette played. They're just a couple of typical over paid pampered NBA players who can't lead the Jazz in an upward trend. You make it sound like an after thought from what occurred with Sloan leaving the Jazz under some rather dubious circumstances. Last I heard Williams hasn't taken over management yet...so get over the Williams thing... ok??? Besides the Pro's are so over rated. They're too much of a business anymore and have lost what used to make their glamore. They're not truly a sport anymore in the sense of the word that it originally was meant.

Despite the season the Utes really tried in this game. They did a good job of of slowing Fredette down...until it was obvious that they had to at least pull two of their defenders off him to contain Abou and Emery. After that Fredette blew them away... and it took less than 5 minutes. Now that's a player...and a team.

How does that Utah claim go? You know the one. "Utah only played 5 minutes of good football but still beat BYU." Would that be the same kind of thinking as "Fredette only played 2 1/2 minutes of good basketball and still beat Utah"? Fortunatley Jimmer has great players around him and Abouo, Emery, Collinsworth and Hartsock did the rest.

Utah played better than they have all season. But playing great one game isn't the same as playing great as a team 23 times. It has been good to see BYU take on all kinds of pressure defenses against Jimmer and have some one new each game take the pressure relief position and burn the other team.

D-Will and Miles were first hand witnesses to the mugging Fredette took and he still led all scorers. These guys see way more than "did he score". I promise you they walked away thinking, "That guy can play".

That Jimmer could score 23 points and have five assists and the headline calls it "Despite mediocre outing" shows the value of Mr. Fredette.

Utah did everything they could to shut down Jimmer, but in the end...

the Utes still got JIMMERED!

I want to know that Deron and CJ were there. I find it interesting. Isn't that what articles are for? To share interesting information about the game? Maybe you don't care but I do.

Jimmer had a really hard time finishing in the lane with Foster down there. He did his damage with Washburn in the game.

Boylen did a good coaching job yesterday but unfortunately the Utes still don't play as a team on offense very well. I think next year they could be pretty good. They have good players.

BYU is good this year, very good with the Jimmer!
I am a big BYU fan and want to see them go far in the NCAA tournament. So far they have been fortunate in that their mediocre games have come against teams that are struggling a bit themselves.

They have dodged bullets against Wyoming and Utah.

They got hit by that bullet at the Pit against UNM.

Opposing teams are experimenting with defenses against the Jimmer. They are closing in on a formula that works (sometimes) against BYU.

Jimmer is also learning from all the different defenses they are hitting him with.

BYU cannot with with a mediocre performance against SDSU or in the NCAA tournament.

May the Jimmer continue to learn how to exploit any defense and may BYU begin to consistently bring their A game with them on game day.

When they are hitting on all cylinders they look invincible, especially if the Jimmer is "feeling it".

Good game. I think a sweet 16 trip is most realistic with this team. 9 out of 10 against the utes sounds pretty good though, hopefully this trend continues.

Boylen may have figured out a way to slow jimmer but he failed for a win. Mission has not accomplished Boylen.

Fantastic game Abouo and Cougars!

(1) BYU knows they can't win against top tier teams without playing very well. (2) Like few others, opponents are throwing the entire book including 2 and 3 players at Fredette. A bad game is 23 points! (3) I love Jackson Emery!!! he's what proper basketball is all about. and (4) Fredette is an absolute flat our warrior.

Jimmer time. I have to wait until Feb 23 6:00 PM to get my Jimmer fix. Can't wait. Maybe we'll see some Jimmerization magic.

Utes played well yesterday. Great defense saved the game.

Why no article on the referee's decisions not to call fouls committed against Fredette? All these stories are lazy routine articles that regurgitate the statistics from the game.

Sincerely - Why does this league have two sets of rules for foul; one for Jimmer and one for the rest of the league?

Do some research and write about that. You will earn my respect.

@Live Hard,

Pathetic. That was truly pathetic. First of all, the whole "one and done" thing was already used by someone else so just go get your own lame phrase to say please. Second of all, I believe they are going to get further than you think. The truth is, you don't care about the sport. The only thing you thrive on is watching others lose or play badly. If you really cared about the sport you would recognize talent and love it. You wouldn't recognize talent if it came up and Jimmered you.

Alright Mr. one and done. When BYU wins that first tournament game I expect an apology. Probably not though, you are as phony as your prediction. Congrats to Utah for playing within themselves and as a team for about 30 minutes. This is one of the reasons I say, "I like Boylen and Utah fans need to be patient". I thought Jimmer looked a little sick if not really tired. That is what his eyes were saying, in my opinion. Time for a couple of days off, then prepare for TCU.
Anyone notice how SDSU gets another buy just before the BYU game and BYU gets CSU, then SDSU then UNM. Tells you a lot of how the MWC views BYU. They really go out of their way to set up SDSU with the best opportunities. I just want a fair playing field.
