Business is foolish for taking this tact. There may be some regulations that
should be reviewed, but most are appropriate and in response to abuses caused by
businesses. They are for the protection of the public. In fact, had the Bush
Administration not held up regulations on egg inspection, the egg recall of last
year might not have happened, saving the industry from losing millions and who
knows what in reputation. The Republicans really ought to start leading instead
of tearing down. Have we seen one, even one constructive initiative from them?
The sooner we run all of these 'greedy' business' out of this country, the
better. We will be much better of in the hands of China.
Smart business people know that regulations keep cut-rate, rule-ignoring
competitors out of their business, whatever it is. They are also aware that
they, even the CEO bigshots, must drink the water and breath the air. Start
dropping regulations when our environment is certified clean, and not before.
