@ blauch Magnusson is a senior and won't be back next year but we do
have Ian Harward returning from a mission along with Nate Austin - both are
6'10". With Davies, Hartsock, Chris Collinsworth, Anderson and these two,
we should have a great front line. Also, I doubt that Rogers will beat out Abou
as the starter at the 3 spot but I'm sure he'll get significant playing time.
Rogers and Abuo played well. BYU did not miss the younger Collinsworth much.
Abuo can really rebound and play defense.
I am anxious to see what this season will do for BYU recruiting over the next
few years. It would be good to get some taller and more athletic bigs. BYU
always has good guards and swingmen.
@ jmstokerThanks for representing all us BYU fans at Clune last
night.Just wondering if this phenomena has ever happened at a Utah
road game. Do Utah athletic teams ever draw more than a handful of fans at
away games? Just a rhetorical question for which I know the answer.
My bad on Haws.
What will these mwc teams do next year with no BYU fans to fill their stadiums
and arenas? Oh, they will punish us by refusing to schedule the Y. So much
for their rpi's.
Rodgers is going to score a lot of points for the cougars before he is done.
Can't wait to see how he develops with more playing time next year.
Haws does not get off his mission for one more year. Not sure if
Davies is going on a Mission. We should find out this off season. If he
returns the Bigs are going to be much deeper next year. Davies, Hartsock,
Collinsworth, Anderson and AustinThe Wings will be Rogers, Abouo and
Magnusson. I love Magnusson - They list him at 6'6 but there is no way he is
any taller than 6'4. He was playing Center at the end of the game. And he
recorded 7 rebounds in 18 minutesThe Guards will be Harrison,
Carlino, Winder, Martineau and Zylstra. You start Winder/Carlino.
Harrison, Rogers, Davies and Hartsock.Harrison is supposed to be a
great athlete so I like Rogers out their for shooting.
Give bigger pay raise for Dave Rice not Rose. We need both to stay here for a
long time.Good run Steven Rogers and hope soon you'll be hitting
more of those when Jimmer getting hacks. And come on guys, both
Jimmer & Jax did a lot of stuff not just Jimmer.
Carlino, Harrison, Winder, Rogers, Noah, Davies, Charles, CC....Next
year there wont be THAT much drop off. Of course, Jimmer is a huge part of this
team BUT, without him I'm betting everyone will step up and it will be a even
more balanced attack. The year after next is when it will get really
fun again when Hawes comes back. There is some great talent at BYU right now.
Keep the W's coming and the recuiting will only get easier and easier.
Rogers has got some moves, can't wait to see him as a starter.Go Y
3grandslamsHaws won't be back next year, but the team should be
Rogers is showing his potential. Charles and Steve filling up the stat sheet.
Way to go.
jmstokerNext year you'll have to visit Provo for a game. Drop by
when you do.---------------------------I expected this
game to be a lot harder. The Falcons played Jimmer tough and
physical, doing everything they could short of tackling him; they even forced a
few more turnovers than usual for Jimmer. But, that left the rest of the team
free for open shots and when the other players are hitting, BYU is
unstoppable.Jimmer got his 25, but it was fun to see the rest of the
team having a great game also. This team just keeps getting better.Saturday in the MC is going to be epic!Well, at least for the
I was at the game; it was almost embarrassing at times how many BYU fans were
there. It turned into a homecourt advantage for BYU at times...it was awesome.
The Cougars second half defense was incredible....many of the Falcon fans were
grumbling and left early....Go Cougars!
Rogers is only a sophomore?! Next year...Carlino, Haws, Collingsworth, Davies,
Abouo, Anderson...let alone the gems Rose has tucked up his sleeve...crazy
potential for years to come. Pay Rose more!! Cougars Rock!
I enjoyed seeing Rogers, Abouo, and the pine brothers play so well in the first
half. The most impressive part of the game for BYU was its tough
defense. Hartsock did a fine job. Emery was his delightful self, attacking the
passing lanes. It was really encouraging for a Cougar fan to see the
whole team step up for this game!
