First unlv didn't beat Louisville. And second Jimmer is the MWC this year. And third unlv is going to get pummeled on Saturday. No talent. The only good player is Marshall and he can't win it for them. Maybe Kruger should realize being a melting pot for players that don't play at other schools make a a good unlv team. Transfers don't mean anything. Willis who?

The Sham to all of this exposure is still the Commish of the MWC. We're going to have to start calling him "The Teflon Man" No matter how bad he messes things up he still comes out smelling like a Rose. Now the question will be... can Craig Thompson continue to ride on the backs of San Diego State, UNLV, and New Mexico in basketball and still retain his grip on the reins of the MWC in football by adding Boise State and Nevada while losing the 3 top major money makers in the conference BYU, TCU and Utah??? It remains to be seen. But I have a feeling that there will be some Changes in just a few years in conference management.

I also have some suspiscions about Thompson. (LOL) Laugh if you want... I do...because if it were true then He's fooled everyone in the WAC and the MWC and just about everyone else. The joke would be on us. Here it is:

Is Craig Thompson an undercover operative of the BCS whose sole mission is to destroy the two conferences who repeatedly every year bust the BCS myth of Crowning a true National Champion???

All this is good, yet it will be lost as the conference fractures at the end of the season.

The "talking heads" don't see BYU getting past the elite eight nor SDSU but you are correct, it has been great year for the MWC. Jimmer has been a "class act" in so many ways and clearly the Y's manna from heaven. No doubt the future will be different without him. When do we start talking about the WCC?

Dick...Sorry man. We love you and everything...but Loisville gave UNLV it's first loss 77-69.

I still worry about the cougs bench we get good defense off the bench in Abuo and Anderson but is there anyone that can give is offense like Lloyd or Haws did last year? Hopefully Rogers can step up.

Just wonder where the West Coast Conference stands in the conference rankings?

One thing is certain, wherever the WCC stands in the conference rankings now, it will be much improved when BYU joins the conference; and the MWC will take a huge hit.

BYU, primarily, and SDSU to some extent, are bringing exposure to the MWC despite Craig Thompson's blunder of a television deal.

If the MWC had the WCC's television deal this year, the nation would be watching every one of these amazing games from Jimmer LIVE, instead of seeing only the highlights played endlessly on Sports Center.

All you need to know, is that Memphis plays at Gonzaga today at 2 o'clock our time on ESPN/National TV, 4 o'clock East Coast on a Saturday when the Nation is snowed in.

WCC teams are on ESPN, the leader in Sports, several times a week.

They have a nice contract with ESPN.

BYU will join that and still put all other games on their National Network.

The whole BSC-League crud is irrelevant in College B-Ball. Many teams in the Big East don't even have D-1 football teams.

Gonzaga will be on National TV 18 times this year.
The MWC teams? Nowhere to be seen.

With BYU joining, there will be 3 or 4 household names in WCC B-Ball. It's a good league. It's not the MWC, but St. Mary's/Gonzaga, have made a bigger splash than any MWC team has in recent years.

Looks like tht access and exposure thing will work out just fine for BYU, thank you.

Outside crowds at SDSU, NM, UNLV, there is not much difference.

It's too bad Loyd couldn't adjust his lifestyle and academics to stay at BYU, but the up side of not having Haws this year is that BYU will have him for three more years starting in 2012.

BYU does have a thinner bench this year, but they do have some talent and players that can contribute. Rogers has the potential to blossom into a very good player. He just lacks a little confidence. And Abouo shows flashes of brilliance, but has no consistency.

BYU is not the only team that plays only 7 or 8 players heavy minutes. Ohio State only plays 7 players.

It's too bad TV contracts don't turn you into a great team.

And Dick, the Jimmer sensation is 10 times bigger than any story the first half of the season. The kid is great, but the cougars will lose in the sweet 16 or elite eight. They need more than Jimmer and Davies.

Next year, the MWC will be all about SDSU in both football and basketball. As they go, the MWC will go. BSU gives a good partner for football, but the aztecs will need CSU to make that next step next year so the MWC can continue to make the case they are one of the elite conferences.

Next year MWC BB will be owned by UNM, hands down. Nobody in the league has half the Lobos' talent coming back or coming in.

Meanwhile BYU - Jimmer will be getting pasted by CS- Bakersfield or whoever else (besides Gonzaga) plays in the rec league they are going to.

Don't count out UNLV next year. They always bring in JUCO players with talent. They ahve a good coach and attract players that fit into that environment. I would love to see how often the UNLV kids attend classes.

I would have liked to have seen:

. The MWC stay together and added BSU, Nevada and Hawaii or Houston for a twelve team league and a championship game in football... They would have been a BCS League in 2012. and would have been in the top 4 leagues in the country in Football and Basketball.

.Pressure Vegas to build a 60,000 seat stadium and a 20,000 seat Basketball Arena (maybe at one of the casinos).... and then, sign a long term deal with the city that would keep the League Championship Game in Football, and the Conference Tourney in Basketball in Las Vegas for at least the next 10 years.

. Fire Thompson as Commissioner and hire away one of the Big 6 Commissioners who has clout with the BCS, and offer him a bonus if he can get the league AQ status within three years (with a bigger bonus if he can do it faster).

. Negotiate a buyout with Conoco and Comcast (and whoever else needs to be involved) to end the Television deal with the Mountain prior to the 2012 Football Season.

. Negotiate a bigger deal with ESPN, Fox or one of the National Broadcast Companies.

Funny town to come from. Los Ojos means the Eyes. I see what your saying about the Lobos owning the MWC next year. However, since Jimmer is a Senior he'll not ever be playing in the WCC. The NBA but not the WCC. Hope you play us tough again at the MC because I always enjoy watching a well coached Alford team. Win or lose it is still just entertainment, but oh how I love to be entertained.
