Wow go get em Cougs! I guess to be recruited by BYU you have to be a brother, cousin, uncles, aunts favorite!! No speed again!! Wow good luck in the future NC!! Not much coming in with this class of recruits except a family tree!!
xpat
I don't think we read the same two articles. Dick Harmon wrote the Y's commits and the Utes Sports information people wrote their's. Harmon may have mentioned a few family ties...but he gave a whole lot more. He at least gave the Y commits their rankings in the major polls plus what other Major programs were interested in signing them.
The Utes SI department made more out of the players off field talents...like playing the ukalalie plus who's little brother they were.

Umm...Austin Heder has 4.6 speed at 235 lbs and Preston Hadley is 4.4. Hadley has a chance to start this year. Austin will go on a mission after this year. BYU has plenty of speed.
I'm surprised that more 4 and 5 star recruits did not sign with the Cougs, especially given that Jimmer has thrust the Cougs into the national spotlight (again ). I would have thought there would be a "Fredette Factor."
In fact, one could argue that he's the best PG BYU has had since the days that Matt Montague roamed campus (I once saw Matt drain a 36-foot hook shot in a scrimmage).
Lowell Chad,
I know! He is a rock star and should bring every 5 star guy to 15 degree temps for sure.
WOW!
@lowell chad and utahcountyute
To bad he couldn't have helped utah land a qb recruit huh? They obviously needed one very badly. With norm chow at utah qb's should be fighting over who gets to have the honor of going there not running away to other programs after originally giving committments and then humiliating the utes on national tv as they choose another school.
It just doesn't make any sense.
After all the Duckhunter knows each player and coach personally since he went to school with them and coached them in little league or kept their stats.
carnak you really need to have a talk with christina. She was so busy sneaking into your assistant mgr office at taco bell that she didn't pay enough attention to how my burrito was being made. frankly I may complain if it happens again and that won't look good on either of your performance reviews.
The thing about BYU recruiting is.. there has to be good LDS recruits out there for BYU to have a good class... No Manti Teo's or Jake Heaps' out there this year so BYU didnt have that strong of a class. Utah did a decent job this year though, but they need a good year next year in conference to see real results from the jump to the pac-12, imo...
@ Duckhunter
Impressive. I can now add that Ducky knows all the people at Taco Bell too. Probably went to school with them or coached them in little league or kept their stats as they played and he watched.
LOL
@carnak
Just make my burrito and leave the clever to people that actually are. There is a reason you could only get into utah. Is assitant fast food mgr an actual major up there?
I'm a BYU grad, but thanks for asking.
BYU had the best recruiting class in the state again. amazing. what i don't get is how the PAC10 folks can rank Utah 7th behind USC etc when Utah consistently spanks the PAC10 year in and year out. goes to show what we think are not so good recruits actually are...look at Eric Weddle.
BYUHOCKEY
How many wins for Utah on the road vs. Pac 10 teams......loss at Oregon, loss at UCLA....check you facts please. Utah wins at home, poor on the road versus Pac 10. Same for BYU.
@carnak
I doubt that. I doubt you are even a utah grad to be honest with you. More likely you used to be a BYU fan but during the crowton years you switched over to utah because you are a front runner. That is typical of utah "fans". After a couple of humiliating bottom of the pac seasons for the utes you'll be back to being a BYU fan.
Now get back to making my burrito.
Dear Duckhunter,
Just to be clear on a few things:
1) I am a BYU fan;
2) Eubank was already committed to ASU (you can't lose something you don't have in the first place) yet he almost changed his mind;
3) Jimmer is AH-mazing
Dear Lowell Chad. Good for you.
@ Duckhunter
Still a BYU grad and proud of it. It is a great academic institution.
