Uh UC Ute...I coached Lone Peak youth football with Jason for several years and
know them well. His boy is a walk on at utah and yes I have seen him play many,
many times. He is a good player but does not have his Fathers speed
or size. Anything else you want to know about it?
Duckie... Yep we crashed and burned the last half of the season and still ended
up with a better record then your boys. BTW have you seen Jason Bucks son play?
You can find him at the RES.Go Utes!!!
my dog can beat up your dog.
"A real jc transfer that is worthwhile would be one like say....Jason
Buck"The above statement is typical of what a tds fan would say
when flustered about the current state of their football team.Jump
head first into the hot tube time machine and relieve the "good old
days" when answers were easier to come by. Dude, That was 25
years ago LOL!
@wedgiejc transfers that "played". Big deal. So they
"played" for a team which was vastly overated and performed abysmally
the last half of the season. If JC transfers don't start, especially
if they are 4 star transfers as you claim, then they aren't worth much. A real jc transfer that is worthwhile would be one like say....Jason
Buck. You know one that starts every game after the transfer and is say an ALL
AMERICAN and OUTLAND TROPHY winner.Get back to us when one of those
guys does something besides "play" on ateam that pretty weel crashes
and burns the last half of the season.LOL
Hedgehog,You should start doing your homework before you talk.
Scout actually does include JC recruits. These two recruiting services just
have a different rating system. But there are many more networks than just those
two that rank recruiting classes. Let me educate you.Scout- BYU: #22 recruiting class- One 5 star, four 4 star, seventeen 3 starUtah: #50 recruiting class- five 4 star, fourteen 3 star #22 and
#50. Thats quite a gap wouldn't you say? 28 teams between BYU and Utah.Rivals-BYU: #40 recruiting class- three 4 star, fifteen 3 starUtah- #32 recruiting class- four 4 star, sixteen 3 star #32 and
#40. Not too big of a gap. 8 teams between the two. Here are some
more credited college football networks and their opinions on the matter. National Football Post-BYU #30 recruiting classUtah
Unranked.Bleacher Report-BYU #9 In Ranking 2010's Top College
Football Recruiting Classes on OffenseUtah: Not mentioned.College Football Cafeteria-BYU #22Utah Unranked Comcast Sports-BYU #22Utah UnrankedI hope I cleared it
up for youYou're welcome...
"Oh and all those 4 star JC guys you are claiming from last year, other
than cullen who was fairly average on the field last season, who are
they?"Ducky,If your going to talk smack try atleast
to know what your talking about... nothing like being bitter and ignorant. 4 out
of the 6 JC had a MAJOR impact. Mo Lee redshirted and Dexter Ranson saw limited
minutes.Star Lotulelei 4 star JC Played in all games - started in LV
BowlReggie Dunn 4 star JC Played in all games - go to reciever and
kick returnerJames Aiono 4 star JC Played in all games - could be
starter next season.John Cullen 4 Star JC starter in all games.
Ducky..You mean 3 star commits like Freshman All-American Brian
Blechen and Joe Kruger? Those 3 stars never pan out. LOL As for the
JC transfers, (OL) Palelei and (WR) Reggie Dunn are Sophs. Reggie is not a
"superstar" yet, but he they both have 2 more years left. You might want to back up your little hissy fits with some facts.Go Utes!
Of course you don't want this article run yet wedgie as we will have a record of
all the rest of the utah "commits" that don't pan out. Better for you
to go to press afterwords so that the only thing seen is the few that actually
come through.I notice utah is sitting at 19 at this point, and only
one of those (Langi) is much of a recruit. The rest are all 3 star (or lower)
guys with offers from powerhouse programs like New Mexico, Nevada and Washington
St. LOLOh and all those 4 star JC guys you are claiming
from last year, other than cullen who was fairly average on the field last
season, who are they? Can't think of anyone standing out on the field. Now they
all have what, 1 season left? Are they gonna be superstars for this their final
year? Or didn't any of them make grades last year so you're hoping they make it
this year. Pretty hard not to make grades at the "u".LOL
"But BYU's top 25 recruiting class for 2010 dwarfed Utah's."Jeffe,One of the many myths tds believe. I guess if you say it
enough times it becomes true. Let's look a little deeper - shall we?TDS loves to focus only on Scout.com(BYU funded) and not other recruiting
services. Yes, there was a lead in the scout.com ranking... but keep in mind
scout.com does not incorporate JC recuites. Utah had five 4 star JC's last
year.On the other hand Rivals does take into account JC's and as you
can guess Utah ended up ranked much higher than the tds. Furthermore, class
"ranking" are finalized the second week of February...yet Utah added
several key 4 star players to the class months later. The reality is
that the tds class of 2010 while good, didn't come close to what the Utes
brought in.I hope I cleared this up for you.
Ute class....good enough for a 5th place finish in to pac? Only time will tell
whether thay are that good!
Hedgehog,Who will Utah be adding on Feb 2nd that is worth
mentioning? Tre James- 2 star prospect. Has no offers from any FBS school
but Utah? Really impressive. Who knows, maybe Utah will pick up a
few great last minute recruits. Maybe notUtah's recruiting class
this year will no doubt be better than BYU's. But BYU's top 25 recruiting class
for 2010 dwarfed Utah's. And the reason for BYU's small recruiting class
for 2011 is because the amount of players returning from missions.
" but BYU consistently has better teams"TJ, Looks like your emotions are getting the best of you. Can you quantify your
anger fit? I can2 of the last 3 6 of the last 9and
let's not even talk about over all head to head.
I agree with hedge. This is pointless until Feb 2nd and separate the teams.
Nice to see who is expected BEFORE signing day so that we can look up video's,
review histories and just enjoy our winter hiberation before spring camps start.
Also we can see who actually follows through. I like the family ties to the
program that are continuing. The companion peice on RM's was nice to have too.
Thank you. Looking forward to signing day.
It probably would have been a more logical idea to run this type of article
AFTER signing day. But then again the corporate owners of the newspaper feel
it's best for BYU to run the article today (seeing that they're recuriting class
has been finished for months). Why would the "corporate"
heads want to compare a trainwreck class to what Utah has on signing day?...
best to just cut your loses and print it today.
