'BlackBerry blocks porn on its phones in Indonesia' - Title
Makes me glad I live in America.
Living in Indonesia for the last 30 years I've seen this story in the local press but I am surprised to see it brought up in the international press without any sort of scrutiny. How, exactly, can RIM block pornography given that they are not an internet service provider?
If we are talking about images, links or clips sent via the Blackberry mail system I can't see how RIM can identify what is or isn't pornography without checking every email. RIM only runs its email service and any internet browsing is done on the cell phone service providers network.
