Why would utah's flagship program stoop to the use of the "mirror image loser" sign in their routines. Don't they know that everyone else laughts at this silliness. Oh, and Hook um horns.

Memo to Utah fans: You didn't invent the "U" hand sign! There is another university you may have heard of in Miami that owns that... Same goes for the Hook em horns sign. What University are you going to rip off next?! By the way.. what does a bird as a mascot have to do with a ute?!

"By the way.. what does a bird as a mascot have to do with a ute?!"

Probably the same thing that a bird as a mascot has to do with a hurricane.

Interesting. Isn't Miami "the U"? That's what all the NFL players say when they ask where they played. They say, "THE U". And no, that's not the U of Utah, that's Miami... So... I think it's weird that Utah incorporates that into their culture... And how the announcer asks to "SHOW [HIM] YOUR U!" Weird... Anyway, I'll be at the game tonight. Go cougs!

Swoop, are you a Ute bird?

More classiness from the little mid major brothers down south; BTW it has been referred to as The "U" for decades. Why dog on the U gymnastics team when your schools gymnastics team can't come close to matching "The U." I know, your classiness just demands you rip on your better.

Hahahaha! You proved my point! What a rich tradition Utah has...find a university with tradition and steal everything you can about it... lol!

Thank you for proving my point. What a rich tradition Utah has...find a university that has tradition and copy it. And to Rock of the Marne, no disrespect to gymnastics, just Utah fans... Thank you for referring to my comments as "classiness".. couldn't agree with you more..

I'm a BYU alumni and have had season (football) tickets since 1988, but I must say I am surprised by some of the rude comments, including what appear to be BYU fans. This is not that big a deal. I think it sounds fun for the fans. Also, for those who want to know- the mascot is a red tailed hawk-a symbol of the Ute tribe that the university uses with the Ute tribe's permission.
