Congrats on an otherwise off-night of shooting. Hope we can keep you from getting the record on our floor (not betting much on that, but a Ute fan can hope).

Jackson Emery is a class player. Hard-nosed. He asserts himself with intelligence on the defense in a way that one wishes all players could achieve. he is an example of the complete player. If it were not for Jimmer, he would be the primary offensive weapon of the team and a capable one. There is no question that he is the defensive leader of this team. His parents and family should be proud of him. He represents them very well.

He waited on purpose. I bet he gets 4 steals next week...probably with little to no effort.

To ChrisB. Your comment here is a classy comment about the upcoming opponent, about the first I remember reading. You and your cousins should have lots of comments after Tuesdays game.

Emery is a very classy player. He is a competitor in the shadows and sneaks up on the opponent when the lights are on Jimmer.

Go Cougars.

This BYU team is a delight to watch anytime. They trust each other with the ball and are excellent shooters and defenders. Congrats to Jackson Emery as he breaks this great steal record of Danny Ainge. He can be counted on to always be energetic and magic even when he is not physically 100%.

We would love to see the Cougars start to slam dunk the ball at the rim to get ready for San Diego.

We love to watch Jimmer climb to the top of his game. He is so much fun to watch expecially when he catches on fire with his shooting game!

I don't think BYU is going to have to worry about being "up" for Tuesday's game with the Utes. I trust their athletic skills, shooting, and adrenolin will be at the highest level. Go Cougars!

From what little I know, Emery is a good guy. I'm sure he will do well in the PCC, or is it the WCC? Well, whatever conference BYU's basketball team is in, I'm sure Emery will do well.

"From what little I know,..."

Obviously not much.

Jackson and Jimmer are seniors, so neither will be around when Hartsock, Davies, Collinsworth, Rogers, and the rest of the Cougars start battling Gonzaga and Saint Mary's for WCC supremacy.

Better to be a perennial WCC contender and NCAA tournament participant playing regularly on ESPN, than to be a perennial bottom dweller in the PAC 12.

Please forgive me if I skip watching them battle for "supremacy" with Saint Mary's, Gonzaga, Santa Clara and Bo Diddley Tech. :)

I will probably be too busy watching the Conference of Champions!

Please share with us ... how many games have you attended for the mighty Ute basketball team.

Your terrific fans showed up 6,500 strong to welcome the #6 team in the nation.

I will be there Tuesday to watch the Y play the U and to see Jackson break the record. Will you? Or are you waiting for the "Conference of Champions" to come to town to support your team?

"I will probably be too busy watching the Conference of Champions!"

Every conference needs bottom dwellers for the champions to beat up on.

Utah fans have gotten used to the Utes filling that role, so MWC vs PAC 12 bottom dweller won't be that much of a change, will it?

Congrats to Jackson Emery on tying the record, looking forward to seeing him break the record on tuesday against utah.

You might want to rethink what you've said. If you want to watch a battle, you're probably better off watching a battle of teams that matter (i.e. WCC, MWC), where at least multiple schools from the conference have votes or are ranked (St. Marys, Gonzaga, SDSU, UNLV, BYU). It's better than watching "the conference of champions" a conference with no ranked teams in the coaches poll, and only one team (Washington) with any votes at all. Of course, there's always "mid-major" patsies you could watch. The MWC, WCC, and WAC are all stronger than the PAC in basketball this year.

a non-champion in a "Conference of Champions"

What championships will Utah bring to the table; Womens Gymnastics and Skiing?

And no, winning the second-rate tournament of the day in 1944 doesn't qualify as a national championship.

Utah will simply be cannon fodder for the real champions of the conference.

Oh let's see... yeah that right ... the article was about Jackson Emery and him eminant steals record. There for a minute it felt like I was listening to one-fingered piano players who forgot to bring the sheet music to their recital. Stay on task my one issue, hate-mongering friends.

I love to watch Jackson Emery and appreciate the energy that he contributes to the whole team. He gives BYU much needed speed and is one of the most consistent defensive players to come along. Go get that record this week Jackson!
