Nice article Mr. Rock. Actually I have to compliment you for writing an article that shows some professional journalism instead of team/player bashing. Congrats.

Good stuff here. I do disagree with the first poster about Rock. I don't think he is overly critical and on a national scale, probably not critical enough for a columnist. I think some fans that are readers are too sensitive.

In before the ute "fans" start whining that this is simply a ute "bash" because Rock brought up a couple of negative things that happened in ute games.

I am Rock's biggest critic, but this was pretty good. I didn't see anything negative at all. The Utes have their Barton block an OT win over BYU and their Sugar Bowl BCS win over Alabama. BYU has their Beck to Harline, Hall to Collie and McMahon to Brown.
Majerus did look ridiculous in that Hawaiin shirt and Roger Reid always sounded like the Grinch that stole Christmas and/or the father that promoted his sons.

I will always remember Barton's block, the kid made a nice play and deserves huge kudos for selling out. But when Martinez started pushing BYU's kicker Mitch Payne, then had to be retrained by a coach, then pushed him again, and again, and again had to be restrained by his coach, that is something I would like to forget---Martinez seems like a pretty good kid.

I will always remember the media's reaction, overreaction and incessant articles about Collie's comment as well as the therapeutic-like articles from the media about Max Hall. It just proves that in Provo, unless you are politically correct and NEVER be critical of the Utes, you will be verbally hazed by media

"I don't know if you're a basketball fan...."

Very nice. Stockton was probably happy the guy didn't recognize him.

It's Burton, not Barton

The DN really needs to get Rock some help with his obsessive, compulsive focus on Rick Majerus.

The guy has been gone for seven years.

Time to give it a rest... time to get some new material Rock.

The DN really needs to get howard s some help with his obsessive, compulsive focus on BYU.

The utes have moved on to the bottom of the pac10.

Time to give it a rest...time to get some new maerial howard.

Rick Majerus is a a timeless Icon. You could write volumes about him and never quite cover his character. I'm going to have to take Rock's side on this one.

Even though he leans Utah, I think Rock is one of the better writers at DN.
