The way to balance budgets is to:
1. Freeze the sucker
2. Cut it across the board to meet revenues (taxes).
I thought states are compelled to balance their budgets. What is so hard to understand about that?
Cut spending across the board. I don't care what state agencies submit to the governor as the next year.
Restrict bonding measures. Bonding is a backhanded way is increasing spending, and it adds to interest and increases in taxes. State and local taxing authorities are using bonding to fund grandiose projects. Have any of you people seen the taj majals being built by school districts and municipalities. Budgets for equipment for fire departments, school districts and state, county, and city governments need to monitored and become transparent; as in being published in the newspapers, shown and talked about on radio and TV. The general public has no idea what is going on with government expenditures. Costs for schools are going up and up. Costs for education at all levels is going up astronomically, and is never talked about. All the newsmedia talke about is fuel, airline tickets/baggage, food and the like.
I am appalled by what government gets by with.
