Thank you for the nice mentions for Plan-B's AMERIGO. One correction: the playwright is Eric Samuelsen.

I agree with some of your comments, I have seen most of the shows at the theaters you have.

However, I find that the average theater goer in the valley does not frequent all of these theaters as money is very tight. They do spend their money on community theater.

I don't see enough in the paper written on community shows. Community theater is where the readers of the Deseret News frequent.

I understand that there is limited time to review so many shows. I viewed over 100 in 2010 and I know I missed some. I have not seen many articles written about shows at Rodgers, Draper or the Empress yet thousands of readers go there.

There is a big hole in the theater world that the Deseret News is not filling...

So here is my top 5

25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee by Pinnacle
Jane Eyre by Spotlight Productions
Nunsense by Empress Theatre
Hair by Egyptian
Madison Square Garden's Christmas Carol by Rodgers Memorial Theatre

Let start giving credit to the thousands of community theatre patrons and actors. There are many community productions that are as good or better than the semi professional theatres...

I so agree with you about "110 in the Shade" in Orem. It's hard to describe what an amazing experience it was yet you put into words exactly how I felt when I saw it.

HCTO's "110 in the Shade" was Utah's theater event of 2010 -- and all other years.
