Same challenge as 12 other teams BYU has played.
I hate it when I see "TV: none". Why doesn't BYUTV pick this up? Good luck, Cougars. Wish I could watch the game here in Texas.
I too wonder why this game isn't being televised, but it's probably too far for BYUtv to send a production crew for a basketball game.
Dave Rose always makes it sound like BYU is playing Duke or Kentucky, but more often than not, the Cougars end up winning by a comfortable margin.
That's what I like about Coach Rose; he never takes any team lightly, which is why he's built such a solid program at BYU.
Mid-week game between Christmas and New Year's; this will probably be a very lightly attended game considering all of the weather problems they've had in the northeast and students being gone for the Holidays.
Good luck Jimmer and company.
Need some answers Jim Rayburn:
Is the absence of TV contractual or economic? If a TV station wanted to air it would they be allowed?
Rayburn should have mentioned in his article that those stats listed have been earned against like Navy, Youngstown St., Towson, Canisius, Indiana St. (a loss), Army (two point win)...
Buffalo will have a difficult time dealing with the D that BYU brings. I'm glad Rose treats every game like its a championship because everybody gets up to play the Cougs, but BYU should be able to control this game and win by a comfortable margin.
Did a little bit of research. BYUs opponents this year including Buffalo are 109-71. The neutral opponents are 55-23 and the road are 22-13. The schedule hasn't necessarily been murderer's row, but their is a lot of quality.
Two more cupcakes before the conference season begins. Fresno Pacific? What's that?
Go Cougars!
Can't wait until we're out of the Mountain West so these "big" games can be televised! If we can somehow get past Buffalo, then Fresno Pacific lurks. They are dangerous!
Best of luck to Coach Rose and the team. Looking forward to reading the game highlights! Go Cougars!
Fresno Pacific was scheduled simply as a filler for BYU to scrimmage against instead of having a week off before facing UNLV in their conference opener.
Sagarin ranks BYU's SOS at 68, which is higher than every other team in high Top 20 except Georgetown at 12.
Sagarin's Top 5
1. Kansas(132)
2. Ohio St(292)
3. Duke(205)
4. BYU(68)
5. Georgetown(12)
btw, Utah started with their Division II filler, Grand Canyon, to give all of those JC transfers a chance to start melding as a team before the Utes played their first Division I opponent.
37. Utah State(290)
166. Utah(179)
BYU won. Jimmer scored 34, Big Three played well. Another W for Y.
