Guess BSU deserves their high ranking, though Utah's defense held them off
pretty well.Good game, and good luck to all teams next year.
Good luck to BYU grads Kyle Whittingham and Kalani Sitaki next year! Go Cougars!
Swoopy Swoop Swooperoo,Trust a Coug to resort to stats and not the
standings or the scoreboard, so why dont you keep livin off your stats and the
rest of us rational thinkers will go by the scoreboard. We both know which one
really matters, and neither of us needs a hyperbole to make that argument. Now go be a good little boy or girl, and maybe tomorrow Santa will leave
you book on How to Make a Real Argument With or Without a Hyperbole under the
tree.Merry Christmas Swoopy!
LOL Truth machine, let´s see, if Utah scores a TD on that first
drive, they are down 23-10. In your view that means they are not in the game.
They were only out of the game once they had to settle for a FG
attempt (which unfortunately the missed). So yes, everyone in the college
football world would agree Utah still was in the game until the end of that
first possession of the 4TH quarter. And if you really think
I´m a BYU hater and post on BYU articles, then you are again showing your
bias towards anyone who is a Utah fan (i.e. you are a utah hater, not a byu
fan.) I am fine with BYU´s institution and their athletes (with a few
exceptions of the embarrasments like Hall). It is the obnoxious fans (note: not
ALL the fans) that irritate most of us.And if you do state something
like `wookie is all over the BYU boards´, then maybe you would be so kind
to support that. You might find 2 posts of mine in the last 2 months on articles
related to other teams that are other than giving congatulations.
They them girlse state wit bunch cheerleaders almost won 40 to 3. Might I
suggest an offseason remedy of equal parts first grade english class and
catching balls that hit your chest
To all those who disliked Andy Ludwig.....you miss him now. This looked like
Coach Mac's offense. The Utes had a tough time crossing the 50 and getting into
Boise State territory!!!! Ludwig's game plan was genius in bowl games. I think
the locals in Utah didn't like him because he is not "one of ours"
(although he is from Logan). Let's stop the silly "we know these
guys" mentality. The Utes were exposed....the Pac 12 is tougher then
people think. Oh wait, know the Pac 12 is a tough conference! Funny how the
MWC folks don't believe that until now....LOL
Sky walker, yes teams with the same record are still ranked based on how they
did against the other teams. I am not sure which coo aide you have been
drinking but it has been that way for decades.Second, the Y wasn't
chosen to play the U, so all your "it's" mean nothing. The Y had a
chance to prove they were better and could Finnish off the game. that is why
they play all 60 minutes. The Y lost. Learn to accept it. This Y
team had their chance and messed up in the big games. Next year is a new year,
so let's move on. In no ones ranking will BYU end up better than the U's.
[Besides, all your stats were proved meaningless when a supposedly
"superior" Utah team had to rely on bunch of lucky breaks and blown
calls to pull out a one point win at home over a rebuilding BYU team lead by a
true freshman quarterback.]Does someone have to be reminded of the
fact that true freshman Jordan Wynn in his 4th start took extremely experienced
senior Max Hall to overtime? It's a rivalry game, these things are almost always
We attended the Las Vegas bowl; of course we knew the Ute's heads were going to
be handed to them - and they were. From the UFA on the Utes looked sicker and
sicker. What amazed me more than anything was the time the BS QB had to throw.
He couldn't be touched. So Utah's defense left a lot to be desired. But, Utah
will improve mightily in the PACC 12. This game will be but a distant memory
(one worth attending in spite of the collapse)
@SportsFanBoth ESPN and MWC ranks BYU 5th. Who's your source? Try using a little common sense Uteology. There is no ranking in conference
finishes. When three teams finish with the same record in conference
that's all that matters. Overall records are irrelevant.TCU 8-0Utah 7-1BYU/SDSU/AFA 5-3 (tied for 3rd in the MWC)If TCU had
finished 7-1 in the MWC with an 11-1 overall record and Utah had finished 8-0 in
the MWC with a 10-2 overall record, Utah still would have finished 1st in the
MWC even though TCU could have been ranked 10 places higher in the polls.Conference rivals have sometime been rematched in bowls. If
Utah would have been playing BYU in the Las Vegas Bowl last night, instead of
Boise State, who would have been favored?More importantly, how many
BYU and Utah fans would have been shocked to see BYU not only win, but win by
two or three touchdowns? That's the reality of where BYU and Utah
finished the season.
@SportsFanBoth ESPN and MWC ranks BYU 5th. Who's your source? @TruthBYU went 6-1 vs cupcakes, Utah 6-0. That's not spin but
reality.@TrueBlueSpin is when you have to use
"intangables" to prove a point.Reality is:1)
BYU went 0-3 with Hill vs teams with a winning record2) BYU went 1-2
after Hill vs teams with a winning recordDid BYU improve, yes. So
yes they could beat USU today. Can they beat @FSU, @AFA, Nevada? Not likly
considering...BYU vs Utah:1) BYU played its best game of
the season against a team with a winning record (If I am wrong, tell me who
then)2) Utah's offense was horrible in last 4 games scored 30 total
points, 17 on BYU3) Yet Utah just needed 5 minutes of good football
to beat BYU This BYU team is similar to the 2007 Ute team. Exposed
early (@UNLV vs @Utah State) and mediocre at the end (9-4 vs 7-6). Only time will till if this 5th place BYU team can run off a 33-6 record with
a #2 or better ranking.
wwookie, wwookie, wwookie"Despite Utah playing as poorly as
they did, they were still in the game through the first possession of the 4th
quarter."Utah was down 23-3 when Joe Phillips missed a 36-yard
FG that still would have left the Utes behind by 16 points even if the FG try
had been good.To say that a team that had only scored three points
in three quarters was still in the game at that point is a gross distortion of
reality.Boise State mercifully called off the dogs in the 4th
quarter or it could easily have been a 30+ point blowout. (Boise State didn't
throw a single pass in their final possession -- NINE straight running plays.)
I would hope that one of the areas Whitt addresses in the offseason are the
stupid penalties. For awhile last night, we looked much like the mid 90's Utes
when Mac was here and we couldn't go one game without 150 yards in penalties to
go with our >10 pts. Our defense played alright considering their opponent.
But the offense needs some work. It didn't help that we had our back-ups in at
QB and LT, but the talent is there. It may be time to rethink the co-OC
position with Schramm and Roderick. I never thought I'd say it, but these last
few games have shown that Andy Ludwig wasn't as bad as some thought. He was
frustrating at, but at least he could devise a gameplan regardless of who was
playing and make the necessary adjustments. We need that kind of expertise or
else all the speed and raw talent in the world won't be enough to compensate. I
think they're good position coaches, but this year showed they've got too much
room for improvement to be charged with calling plays and devising gameplans
against top competition.
T-plus Trust a Ute to resort to hyperbole when they really don't
have an argument.BYU outplayed Utah at Utah and BYU would easily
handle the Aggies if they were to play the Cougars again.BYU
steadily improved throughout the season and was easily the best team in the
state by the end of the season.
Utah should still be ranked. They have 3 losses, 2 of those to top 10 teams. The
only loss that should have been a win was ND. Let's wait to see how the Irish
perform in their bowl before we are so quick to say the Utes don't deserve a top
25 ranking. How many 10-3 teams will there be by the end of the
season? That's a good accomplishment. I had predicted an 11-2 season at the
beginning of the year, but am still content with a team that showed they have
talent. It was strictly execution that kept the Utes out of this game once the
3rd quarter ended. Despite Utah playing as poorly as they did, they
were still in the game through the first possession of the 4th quarter. Not too
many other schools can claim that against BSU.And to the cougar fans
who love to hate and show their true hypocritic faces, let me know what stories
you think I post on that relate just to BYU. You might find 2. The fact is you
read more Utah boards and THINK that I'm all over the byu boards!
Hilarious that Coug fans think they had the best football team in the State this
year.Hmmmmm:Utah State 31 - Cougs 16Utah 17 - Cougs
16Maybe as an independent BYU can schedule SUU, Snow or Dixie in one
of the coming seasons and pull off an upset against an in-state school.
KKCC | 4:13 p.m. Dec. 23, 2010 UTAH, UT Seriously BYU fans.... Go
Away! No amount of your spin of stats is going to make you relevant! The only
stat that matters concerning Utah/BYU this year is 17-16. Game over, Utah won!
===Storm the field!!!
Tough game against a top team. That team was 2 field goals away from at least
the Rose Bowl. This Coug fan congratulates U on a great 10-3 year.
Good luck in the PAC-10.
KKCCUtah survived. That's the best that can be said of
Utah's lucky one point win.
The way Utah played last night Utah St. might have beaten them, seriously.
Utahcountyute,Four turnovers and a blocked field goal with twenty
six points? I would'nt say good defense. I'd say Boise State took alittle while
to warm-up after a long lay-off.
MiPA team that barely survived losing to a 7-6 team lead by a true
freshman quarterback at home by one point, doesn't deserve to be ranked,
especially when 7 of Utah's 10 wins were against cupcakes.BYU didn't
have a better overall season than Utah, but BYU certainly finished the season
stronger.Utah's only "decent" wins were against AFA(8-4),
SDSU(8-4) and, ironically, BYU(7-6).If you want to throw BYU into
the cupcake mix, U had to get lucky to beat a cupcake by ONE point at home!
Seriously BYU fans.... Go Away! No amount of your spin of stats is going to make
you relevant! The only stat that matters concerning Utah/BYU this year is
17-16. Game over, Utah won!
@ PAC Man Pretty big "only difference" in last 5 years.
In fact, I am pretty sure BYU would trade all the other lesser
"differences" to do the BCS once - which last I saw they hadn't.But, thanks for the stats. BTW - if the last 5 years are relevant, than
so is the last 12 months - care to do that math?Utah won 2010 - even
losing in the Las Vegas (toilete) Bowl - Utes won this football season.
"current highest ranked opponent" is meaningless for next year 4D. Try
studying a little college football history before spouting off about how strong
or weak a team's schedule is going to be next year.Did you predict
that Auburn and Oregon would be undefeated and playing for the BCS title this
year ahead of Texas, Alabama, Florida, and Ohio State?Did you
predict that Nebraska would win the Big 12 championship, but lose at home to
Texas(5-7)?The fact is, you don't have a clue whether Texas will be
a national championship contender or a Big 12 bottom dweller next year. You don't have a clue whether Utah will be a PAC 12 title contender, or a
bottom dweller. So take your prognostications and file them away
under "dart board predictions" until next November.A year
from now we'll see if they're even close.
There are a couple of things I want to say. It looks like girlsy state thumped
Utah. Except for a couple of passes, Shakey played great, carried the offense on
his back. Utah's defense had some really great plays, they really tried to carry
the day. I feel bad for Kyle. Not really because they lost but for the way some
of his players acted, both before and during the game. Nothing takes the place
of honor in the way you conduct your life. Some of his players and a chunk of
Utah Fans have not learned that lesson. As for the game. I rooted, for probably
the first time, totally against Utah. Not cause I am a BYU fan, but because of
the way too many really scummy Utah Fans and a few players. Before you have a
cow Utah Fans I probably watch more Utah Football and basketball games than even
your best fans do. Get used to being cannon fodder. This is only the beginning.
Oh, yea, Merry Christmas.Jeff
Tough game for the Utes...no single person to blame, too many dropped passes,
too little experience for Cain, and the fumbles...ugh.Having been at
the game, a few observations:Boise was just OK - certainly not top
10 caliber - so, the Utes are a decent, but far from great team in 2010.The Vegas venue is HORRIBLE...mud, facilities stink, food aweful, the
field looked like a 1990 retread...overall - looked like a cheap bowl game (and
is a cheap bowl game).BSU fans were pretty good. The 2 drunk guys
sitting in front of us were dorks, but an overall assessment - I thought the BSU
fans were pretty good.Utah needs a lot of work going into next year
and the PAC. I think they can do it - and I think Kyle is a great coach...so,
excited for next year.10-3 is a good season - so thanks to the Utes
for a fun year!
Some thoughts on this game:---Boise deserves a Top-10 finish.---Can't fault the Utes effort. I thought they played decently despite missing
their starting QB and left Tackle.---USAlover must not like math.
Rounding 23 to 30? If anything, the final score should have been a lot closer
(Utes had 1 TD called back by by a hold---even though Doug Martin's TD could
have also been called back by a hold AND a block in the back---and a deep pass
at the goal called back because of a hold and two missed FGs)---Utes
deserve to finish ranked around ~24th or 25th (need to consider two losses were
to Top-10 teams and the third to a good team on the road. PLUS wins over two
teams directly behind them in the "others recieving votes"...@SDSU and
@AFA). Folks who disagree would have to show me all 25 teams that are more
deserving.---Next year will be great in PAC-12.---BYU
made a nice turn around this year. ---Including bowl games, the Utes
final SOS will likely end around the same as BYU's and 10-3 is always better
Oh yeah Byus schedule next year is not as amazing as you pipe it up to be. It
looks pretty bad when your current highest ranked opponent on your schedule next
year is Utah. The same Utah team in your eyes that is horrible team. Oh yeah you
play power hose Texas with 5-7 record ,and ole miss that is 4-8. The wac teams
you play next year you dont want me to get started on. Okay two top 10 teams
beat us pretty good so we are completely overrated. How bad does that make BYU
look loosing to such a bad overrated team such as Utah? The funny thing is Utah
played one of their worst games of the year and they still beat Byu when Byu
played out of their minds. I am not saying Utah was amazing this year. I am just
saying to all you Byu fans that talk trash you have no room to talk trash,
because your team is not as good as utahs. Utah was mediocre this year, Byu
I don't know how a team with an overall record of 7-6 has any room to talk
trash. Your BIG victory of the year came over a horrible Utep team that plays in
the worst conference in division one football. That Utep team that you beat so
convincingly only beat 5 division one opponents , and Uteps other wins came over
division one double a opponents. Okay BYU fans loosing to 7-5 Notre Dame is
really bad I know. But how much worse is it to loose to a 4-8 Utah State team
that Boise State completely destroyed. I know that is quite hilarious that Utah
lost to Boise State ha ha. However, that same Boise State team beat two teams
that beat you pretty convincingly. With that at in mind its quite obvious if BYU
played Boise State the result would be the same. Okay lets talk about your six
wins should we. How many of those wins came over teams with a winning record? Um
lets see the answer equals one. You keep on knocking on Utah stength of schedule
when you have only beat one team with a winning record.
Uteology"Utah choked in 4 of the last 5 games."Correction: Utah was exposed 6 of the last 6 games. The Utes were
lucky to win three of them.
UteologyWhen you're finished with all of your spin, here's a reality
check:After all of the hype, BYU was one four-play series of
ultra-conservative play calling and a blocked FG away from beating Utah and
tying the Utes for 2nd in the MWC.For a team that started the season
1-4 with a brutal schedule, a two-headed QB monster, and an underperforming DC,
to be one play away from beating a once Top 5 team on the road either says alot
about how much BYU improved throughout the season, or how overrated Utah was
because of their early cupcake schedule, or both. The problem with
stats is they're never inclusive enough to account for intangibles like playing
AFA on the road in the second week of September with a very young team versus
playing the Falcons the last week in October with a more experienced team.Utah State beat the Cougars soundly before Hill was fired; no objective
fan who watched the transformation of the BYU defense and offense since that
early October loss would expect the Aggies to be favored if BYU and Utah State
were playing today.
I love how mr. stats Uteology is so clueless that he doesn't even know the final
MWC standings.BYU finished THIRD in the MWC, right behind Utah.TCU 8-0Utah 7-1BYU, SDSU, AFA 5-3CSU, UNLV 2-6UNM, Wyo 1-7Besides, all your stats were proved meaningless when a
supposedly "superior" Utah team had to rely on bunch of lucky breaks
and blown calls to pull out a one point win at home over a rebuilding BYU team
lead by a true freshman quarterback.Utah finished the season 3-3 and
the Utes were lucky it wasn't 0-6.BYU got off to a rocky start with
a young team and a very tough early schedule, but finished 5-1, and it could
have very easily been 6-0.SOS at this point in the season is
completely meaningless, but keep beating that dead horse if it makes you feel
any better about the Utes' dismal finish.
PAC12 powers tremble with fear of the Mighty Utes.
Calling your opponent "Girlse State", starting pregame fights and then
getting throttled by almost by almost 30 points (coulda easily been 40) has to
be the funniest thing I've ever seen.Max was right....
@UteologyI love it how Ute fans think their season means something.
Overrated and overhyped... Now off to your pac-obscurity. Anybody
with a knowledge of football that has seen you play knows the Ute's mouths are
bigger than their showings.
If Jordan Wynn would have been playing, we would have winned BSU for sure. Wynn
is awesome. Have you seen his mustache? It is powerful.
I love it how BYU fans think a 7-6 5th place mid-major MWC (according to the MWC
official site) team is better than a 10-3 team.1) vs CupcakesUtah 6-0BYU 6-12) vs Teams with a winning recordUtah 4-3BYU 1-5Myth: Utah would have gone 7-6 with
BYU's schedule.FACT: SOS Rankings in the regular season#52 BYU 71.43#66 Utah 68.62Stay tuned for final rankings,
Utah's SOS will improve by playing #10 Boise and BYU will likely decline playing
#89 UTEP.So with similar SOS it is highly unlikely that Utah would
have dropped to 5th place like BYU.
@PAC manYou conveniently left out top 5 finishes. And given the
weight of that, with the weight of BCS bowls (go one more year back) and I will
take what Utah has given us and am very happy with it."Conference invites are meaningless as a measure of football success (see
Colorado)"Nonsense. Granted there are other considerations, but
without Utah's BCS bowl victories, I doubt they would be going to the PAC-12.I am not oblivious to BYU's success. But nobody can try to paint the
past 5 (or 10 or 50 years) as superior to the other's success. You can present
the facts to fit your argument, as can I. Really the two teams have been rather
even over the long haul (especially recently), and trashing one is really only
trashing the other.
Utah has shown this year that they'll fit in quite nicely with the middle to
lower PAC 12 schools, no different than teams from the upper half of the MWC
have been doing for years.Unfortunately for Utah, there will always
be a TCU-like Oregon, or Stanford, or USC at the top of the PAC 12 that will be
a constant road block to the Utes ever winning a conference championship or
playing in the Rose Bowl.Middle of the PAC, 8-4 finishes fighting
the Oregon States and Californias of the PAC for berths in the Las Vegas and
Kraft Fight Hunger bowls will be Utah's fate in good years. In
rebuilding years, which are inevitable, the Utes won't even qualify for a
bowl. But at least they'll be getting a bigger paycheck, in a few
This year's Las Vegas bowl simply but emphatically illustrated my season-long
point: Utah was always highly overrated and was a total fraud when ranked at #5.
If their schedule would have inserted Weber State for TCU and Idaho State for
Notre Dame, they'd still be crowing about being #1. Then only if they could have
played New Mexico State in a bowl game, the Utes dreams for an undefeated season
could have been realized . . .

It is too bad Texas turned down the Pac10 offer. I would have love to see the
MWC with Utah, TCU, BYU and BSU in it. Not sure if the BCS would have still
given the MWC an auto bid but it would have been one heck of a football
conference. As a side note, Utah will not be the doormat of the Pac
12 conference. Every year the Pac has 2 or 3 good teams and the rest are very
average. I see Utah winning more Pac10 games than losing next year. Barely.
@TheSportsAuthority "BYU OUTPLAYED Utah"Nonsense. Check the scoreboard. Then check the stats. The game was quite even,
thank you. And the Utes won. The Utes won because it was BLOCKED!!! (One of the
best executed defensive plays I have EVER seen, by the way.)"BYU finished strong with a dominating bowl win"Congratulations. Highland High would have beat UTEP also."Utah finished with a whimper with humiliating bowl loss to a non-AQ team

If the Utes had BYU's schedule:They would have been crushed on the
road against Florida State. They would have lost an early season game
at Air Force when the Falcons are always playing at their best. They
would have been crushed by Nevada, the only team to beat the bowl team that just
destroyed the Utes. They would have been crushed, just like they
were, by TCU.They would have lost AT BYU.And they might
have beaten UTEP in the New Mexico Bowl.Final Record: 8-5 with a
possible bowl win
I am embarrased that Utah represents our state the way they do. I'm talking
about how they have to pick a fight before the last 2 games, seriously, shut
your mouths and play the game. Do the coaches condone this kind of trash
talking little brother behavior. The coaches just stand on the sideline while
they let their team go all the way over to the other sideline to start some
backyard fight before the game. Grow up and learn how to play with class.
Scots,Right, because boise is vastly superior to Nevada, huh?Oh wait. Doh!
The Utes a strictly no dice, a fitting addition to the automatic BCS qualifiers
of the PAC-10/PAC-12.
@ yankee doodleIf Utah had BYU's schedule they would have gone 12-1
Westcoast1, utahcountyute, wwookie, and all you other Y haters. Step back into
the light of reality for a minute, would you? You can spin this how you like, I
really love the bowl game comparison between the Y and the U, but really? If we weren't all here piling on this article would have, oh, lets say,
about two dozen posts, like most irrelevant u of u sports articles. Bottom line, Utah got spanked, and that is a simple fact you are going to have
to live with until September, when BYU avenges their last loss to their former
nemesis. At which time we will all pile on again. Its what we do.Just keep spinning, 'cause we're still laughing.BTW, Utah's O-line
is still holding!
Props to the Utes for representing. Awesome defense until mid-2nd qtr. Too bad
about the two dropped passes inside the 5.You could see the Broncos
didn't want to be there, and were able to finally get it going somewhat to get
out with a win.Broncos were truly shafted. A playoff is needed.
Limiting the current playoff to 2 teams in 1 game is stupid.
hey wwookie, why are you so upset? Is it because you lost so badly last night?
BYU fans are doing nothing more than giving you a taste of your own medicine.
What, you can't handle it?
Okay, I paid my dues and read all the posts before me. My two observations, no
venom, no spite:BYU lost to Nevada early in the season by less than
utha lost to BSU late in the season. Nevada and BSU proved they were pretty
equal and BYU and Utah proved they were pretty equal. Utah players
proved at the beginning and end of the BYU game that some of them are out of
control. They proved the same thing before and at the beginning of the BSU game.
Great passion, lack of self discipline were enough to beat BYU. Barely. At home.
They were not enough to beat BSU. What we saw with a BSU coach taking one of his
bad boys to the wood shed for his bad behavior is what I expect and hope for
from good teams - discipline.
Loved seeing Utah getting beat by the "cheerleaders" of BSU. Good luck in pac-obscurity.I love seeing wwookie call out BYU fans
as hypocrites when he is all over BYU boards. I sure hope Utah is
coming up with a game plan for their new conference rivals (Washington St.) as
they battle for 11th place year in and year out.
@utahcountyute"all those yards and only 26 points to show for
it"Please don't suggest your defense had anything to do with
it. BSU had their share of dropped passes in the 2nd half, and a fluke turnover
on the goalline. That was at least a 21 point giveaway on those possessions.
Shaky dropped another pass
Pitiful performance by the Utah Receiving Corps. They lost the game, absolutely
lost it for UTAH. Yes teams lose but as a UNIT, that group of receivers are the
ones that should hang their heads this morning. All should be
forgiven...tomorrow, but today it is a complete day of shame the way they
disrespected the hard work of the rest of the UTAH team.
Boise State was so speedy last night. And what about that crazy play from #2 on
their team where he caught his own deflected pass? They certainly got the shaft
from the whole BCS system. To the Utes: Good luck next year in the
PAC-12. Represent yourselves and the state well.
This Utah team has won by the skin-of-their-teeth all year. Outplayed by
mediocre BYU team for sure.Boise State has a better football program
and probably should have been picked to go to the PAC 12.Utah will
never win another BCS Bowl game...EVER!

disgust, don't get me wrong. To say there were no bright spots though just shows
your lack of football knowledge. All those yards and they only had 26
points. How do you think that adds up? Because the Utes played a great game on
defense. If anything, the Utes gave the game away with dropped passes and
penalties. True Freshman All American Brian Blechen, making a play
on the ball to save an "easy" TD was a bright spot and if you missed
that you really should stick to girls basketball. You'll figure it
out though. OK, maybe not.Go Utes, off to the PAC!
@ WestCoast1... nice spin....NOT! 15 minutes of glory? I have been

Self righteous comments don't hide the fact that Utah put up THREE, THREE points
in their bowl game. Against a "WAC also ran".That Utah
got drilled at home by TCU.That Utah beat BYU on a broken play.

Memo to ute coaches follow Chris Peterson around. Still their recurites still
their offense philosophy. Utah fans its not the QB its the offense philosophy.
Run a pro style offense just like Boise does. I have a hard time thinking that
Boise State can get better athletes than Utah can. Boise is a great football
team enough said.
The pro-BYU/anti-Utes are having their 15 minutes of glory. I'm not quite sure
how a fan base whose team went 6-6 can even show up on an article on their
rivals team---a team that went 10-2; a team that BEAT BYU and is 54-34 all-time
against them. But, for outsiders reading these posts, welcome to life among the
BYU supporters. The bottom line is, Utah is off to the PAC 12, the
best all-around conference in the country. And BYU is off on their newest
quest: to play a schedule of WAC also-rans. Exciting! Enjoy your newest
This really is far too easy this morning. But had the Utes held onto the ball
in the first quarter, they could have been up 17-3. This message is
for Uteology, Chris B, hedgehog, willary and the rest of the HOH. Girl-zee
state just knocked of you conference of chumps...againANDShakey dropped another pass...
Bottom line:The Utes were all talk, but no walk this season. As KSL put it:The Utes "feasted on cupcakes, struggled
versus good teams, and were slaughtered by great teams."And one
of those "great" teams, wasn't even that "great". (Notre

the biggest beatdown in RES history.Utah first trip to South Bend
turned into a nationally televised meltdown.A Top 25 Utah had to
rely on lucky bounces and blown calls to pull off a one point win at home over a
supposedly very mediocre 7-6 BYU.The "epic" matchup
between the top two BCS busters turned out to be a complete mismatch. The Utes head to the PAC 12 having scored the fewest points in Las Vegas Bowl
history and lucky not to have finished the season with 6 straight losses.BYU was unlucky not to have finished the season with 6 straight wins.Spin it however you want, utahcountyute, but that's reality.
Feels like Santa came twice this year. Really, BSU deserved better than this
All you haters and homers need to just accept the facts.1. Utah got
Personally, I never bought into the concept of a "bowl winning
streak." Someone please explain to me how this is different from a
season-opener winning streak, or a winning streak on games played in the 4th
week in September.
Why are there more BYU posters than Utah posters? Is it really a wonder
BYU is the most hated school in the nation?Get some class, byu FANS.
The hypocrisy is ridiculous.
utahcountyuteThere were no bright spots. The Utes were

Chris B,I know you're out there reading these messages. You were
the one predicting a big Utah win. You also said you would accept all of our
apologies after the Utes won and proved that you were right. I replied to your
comment telling you that you were wrong and that I would accept your apology
after I was proven right. Your Utes proved me right yesterday by
getting blown away. I'll accept your apology as soon as you're man enough to

I have not had the opportunity to see Utah play all year due to my schedule.
Unfortunately, I even missed the BYU/Utah game. I watched last nights game and
now understand why they call him "SHAKY"Good luck to all
next year in their endeavors!
Thanks ute fans for being upset over the BYU fan derogatory posts, although it
hasn't kept you from being derogatory about BYU.
Overall, the Utes just proved last night that they will fit right in with the
Pac. Every year Pac teams lose their bowl games to MWC and WAC opponents. It
might even become a Las Vegas Bowl tradition?Three things I will be
so happy to never hear again after this season from a Ute fan:1.
The words "Ute" and "bowl winning streak" in the same
sentence. Sorry Utah, that streak was built on beating mediocre teams in
mediocre bowls.2. "Utah knows how to win the big games."
Really? TCU, ND and Boise St. would probably disagree. You don't finish third
or worse in the MWC seven of the last 10 years by winning all the big games.
Ute fans keep complaining about the drops and mistakes, but this is just another
indicator that the team was not ready for the big game.3.
"Coach Whitt knows how to prepare his team for a bowl game. They plan to
win." Really? Setting a record for the fewest (3) points EVER in the Las
Vegas Bowl? I'm thinking that the Utes were outclassed last night and totally
unprepared for what they were about to face.
I agree with Ute posters. If the Utes had played their best on offense, they
would have scored 20. If BSU played their best on offense, they would have
scored 60.Cain was the best offensive threat with his running. If
Wynn had played, he would have just gotten hurt again.
If the Utesies played BYU's schedule this year, they DO NOT go 10-3.If
Wynnie played last night, they lose 26-3.Utah can't compete in the WAC let
alone the PAC.The Ute radio announcers during pre-game were even
mentioning how 7 of BSU's opponents had losing records and they play in the
lowly WAC. And that the Utesies match up very well pound for pound, speed for
speed with BSU, seems to me #22 outran the entire Utesie team.No excuses
the Utes were overrated this year.Face the facts.
"Girlse State" looked pretty good last night. BSU has an incredible
team and those two wide receivers will likely be playing in the NFL someday.
Moore was unstoppable in the second half. They deserve all the credit.Well, here's to next year, excited see what happens to both BYU and the Utes.
I will try to be a rational voice. I am tired of the venom from both BYU and
Utah fans, honestly, it's exhausting. Couple of thoughts:1) BYU going
independent is smart - they will only have a couple of tough games each year and
all the rest will be patsies - (easy way to BCS)2) Utah will not be a Pac
10 doormat - they would have probably beaten everyone in the Pac 10 except
Oregon and Stanford. With Utah and BYU so evenly matched over the years, I'm
not sure why every BYU fan keeps claiming Utah will be a doormat. If BYU were
going into the Pac 10, I do not think they'd be a doormat. I think BYU would
compete for a Pac 10 championship probably 3 out of every 4 years. 3) I
wish Utah were going independent - honestly, it will be a lot easier going
independent (2 tough games with 8 patsies) and getting to a BCS game than
running the table in the Pac 10 and getting there. 4) I actually can't
stand the rivalry anymore, both fan bases are ridiculous.5) Utah,
phenomenal season. BYU, phenomenal improvement.
I saw one post that said that Boise deserved the Pac 12 bid over Utah. Hogwash.
The Pac 12 bid was about more than just football. Boise - you're a one sport
school, ala UNLV and UNM. Plus your academics are well, sorry. Once the Pac
10 decided they couldn't stomach a religious school, they went to next best and
that was Utah. For that they get 1/3 of the State's fans, 1/3 of the 40th tv
market in America and a stadium that seats 45K. Might someday be good in
Nice run Utah on your bowl streak. Your defense played well enough for you to
win this game, forcing 4 turnovers and blocking a fg.You knew BSU was going to
score, but your offense didn't show up like it didn't with BYU. The difference
was BSU offense was aggressive and played to win, while BYU offense played not
to lose. Good luck in the Pac 10 or 12, what ever you want to call it.
How about KWhitt examine his coaching staff? The offense was okay against weak
programs, but awful against anyone with a defense. What happened to the spread
offense? All year the offensive routes were just nothing but high school
football. We really need an offensive mind on the coaching staff and whitt
needs to take back the defense.....Whitt is a smart guy and a good
coach, he's just going to have to toughen up with his staff. The
Utes will be back and will be respectable in the PAC 12 from the get-go.....
BYU fans you need to refrain yourselves from running your mouths on this game
because when push comes to shove your team beat UTEP in the New Mexico Bowl.
Pathetic. Oh yeah and your cougars still lost to Utah. So if you still think BYU
is the best football program in Utah this year, you're wrong. Its not an
arguement its fact.
with jordon wynn bosie would have twice as many sacks wynn is slower a falls
Some crazy byu homers on here making fools of themselves for sure. No
surpise.Too many dropped passes, too many fumbles in big play
situations. Shaky was all over the board and looked promising early but in the
end, could not make plays when we needed them most. This was not Cain's fault
either. He put the ball where they should have been caught.24 points
were left out there on dropped passes, penalties and a missed field goal!
frustrating! Some bright spots to remember though.....-The defense holding Boise (and one of the best true qbs in college FB) to 26
points was amazing. -Brian Blechen's play on the ball that caused the
touch back shows the future of the defense and the promise that is there.-The special teams were on all night as well. Reggie Dunn is for real and will
be a force next year.Congrats boys on a good season. Here's to
getting on the recruiting trail and getting some key offensive play makers to
make the offense move next year. As always....Go Utes!
Can't till August!Go Utes!!
This Headline just in.....Cain isn't able.
BSU is a great team and I am now a big Kellen Moore fan. This kid is going to be
ready for the NFL. I would much rather have him than Cam Newton as my field
general.I had hoped Utah could shake off their past poor
performances, but a few shots in the foot with penalties and dropped passes
along with a BSU team that played well for the last 3 Qs ended that wonderful
and historic Utah bowl run.Thank you Utes for another memorable
season and next year, please don´t execute so poorly. There really is no
excuse for that.A 10-3 season isn´t bad with a win over the
rival, but next year we want to repeat that record, so keep on improving.Curious to see where BSU ends up in the top 25. Utah will probably drop
out, though a loss to a top 10 team shouldn´t really do that. We´ll
Something was really "off" for the Utes tonight and I think it had
more to do with the receivers timing being off than it did with BSU being good.
Yeah sure... Boise is good, but their performance against Utah was NOT
overwhelming. How often does does Brooks, Smithson & Christopher drop
passes right in "bread basket"? How often does Phillip's miss a
chip-shot field goal...? Let alone 2 of 'em. Boise MAYBE would have won anyway,
but Utah's toughest opponent tonight was... ITSELF.
What I saw on the field last night was a Utah team that was valiant in their
efforts and did not give up , nor did they let the State of Utah down. Brent
Mussberger mentioned BYU and their recruitment of players from the Islands, his
trivia question included " Quarterback U " as he called it in his
praise for the players from the Y.I saw a group of young men push their
hearts, hopes, and physical endeavors on every single play. The defense was on
the field a long time, opportunities were lost , passes were dropped, and a
back-up quarterback was doing his best to move his team against one of the
nations strongest defenses.I saw teamwork , endurance, and 110% effort by
every player on every play.I gained value myself by being able to watch
young men push their physical abilities to the limit and never giving up no
matter how large or small, great or petty their assignment. All of those hours
of practice on the field, in private practice,in the classroom, and the self
motivation needed in this game will carry forward and strengthen their
characters for the rest of their lives.
BSU is simply the better team if they played the Utes again the result would be
the same with or without Winn. The playground taunting got the Utes no where
GROW UP. The swagger swung the wrong way.
Utah choked in 4 of the last 5 games.Against TCU, ND, BYU, and Boise
they scored 30 total points. That is horrendous. I think KW needs
to call Bronco to see if he can evaluate the Utah offensive staff as well.Lets hope Aaron Roderick days are numbered as the Ute offensive
coordinator. I can't believe he's a step down from Ludwig.Finishing
10-3 was really a disappointing year.Regardless, I am proud Ute and
can't wait for PAC-12 play to start.Go Utes!!!!
If Jordan Wynn played Utah would have gotten at lest 17 maby 24. BYU
fans you can not talk you beat a 6-6 Conference USA team. You let
them score 24 on you, if you played Boise State with that D they would have 24
on you in 5 min's.Utah vs Boise State with Jordan Wynn 17-19 LossBYU vs Boise state 14-84 Loss
I hate to burst your bubble of amusement about how dead the Utah program
supposedly is but I'd like to note a couple things.1. Our starting QB was
injured and missed this game and was clearly not operating at 100% the last few
games. 2. We're still 10-3 which you might recall was our same record last
year. We lost two games to top 10 schools, at least one of which is top 5. The
Notre Dame thing was ugly I'll admit that. 3. Why are we the PAC-10
doormat? Washington State, Colorado, UCLA are all terrible. Washington? They
were the one team BYU was able to beat while they were failing up a storm the
first half of the season (btw, glad you recovered, it's more fun to play BYU
when they're a good team). Washington finished 5-4 in conference play, good for
third in the conference along with USC. The PAC-10 has elite schools Oregon and
Stanford but after that is just a bunch of B class schools in that cluster in
the middle. Utah will join that category and a PAC-12 South title is certainly
next year if your lucky with 6th place pac12 and heading back to LV Bowl with
who? BSU. MARK THAT DOWN!
Insane fans always make me laugh because they let biased opinions get in the way
of reason and logic. That goes for my fellow Utah fans as well as BYU and Boise
fans. Most of this comment board seems to be BYU fans gloating over the fact
that Utah is trending down while BYU is trending up. Reality check time. Yes,
in the last 6 games Utah went 3-3 and BYU went 5-1. But all BYU did was beat
the same crappy teams that made Utah look good early in the season. Last 6 opponents winning percentage: BYU 33% (25-50)Utah 73%
(54-20)Both teams had weaknesses this season that were exposed when
they played good competition. Both coaches have plenty of work to do in terms
of their coaching staffs and player personnel. Im sure Kyle and Bronco will
figure it out.Utah will struggle the next two seasons (8-5 record)
but will likely become a 2nd tier PAC12 team (behind USC, Oregon, Washington??).
BYU will go 11-2 every year while playing 6 awful WAC teams. My big question
is will Utah (with PAC12 money and recruiting) eventually dominate BYU? Who
Still loving all the trash talk by Cougar fans.Yea the Utes got
creamed. But beating UTEP is worth bragging about?Somebody needs to fire the logic teachers at BYU. By the way: its
Ahhh sports, I love the fans and mouthy players.I think Boise State
is a very very good football program and they sure have beat some pretty good
teams over the years.I also think Boise State deserved the Pac 12
bid over Utah. I just see more people tuning in to watch USC vs Boise State,
than USC vs Utah, etc.The Pac 10 should have investigated the TV
ratings from week to week more and perhaps even the institutions more. I know
Utah has their fan base, but it is much smaller than BSU's and much more
fickle.Utah's fan base would rather hunt and fish than watch a
Cracks me up how anyone who calls out the whiny, overrated, self-important
insufferable Ute players and fans after embarrassing their state on national
television three-for-three times this year are assumed to be BYU fans. Last I
checked, this game had nothing to do with BYU. It'll be tough to be a Ute fan
next year when a different color of Cougars race you to the bottom, but hey--at
least you can still hate on BYU.
I feel so empty.Larry Scott spoke of athletic prowess, and as the
Utes head to the PAC, they get thumped in a mid major bowl by a WAC conference
team, only managing 3 points (a new record). To top the night off the
Utes get beat from start to finish by a 6-4 Butler out of the Horizon League. What do the Utes hope to accomplish by going PAC, except bringing in
fans to watch other teams play?I guess, every BCS league needs some
cupcakes to get their teams to six wins to qualify for a bowl.Maybe
Utah games are like an unofficial "bye-week" for the premier teams in
the PAC.Well, getting out of the MWC just in time. BSU, TCU, BYU...
The competition is just to tough. Now they will have excuses.
Like I have been saying all season, "Ütah was over-rated from the
start." Poor Utah fans....Get used to it, your "glory days" are
Good year Utes 10-3 is not bad we did alot of things to hurt ourselves. Had we
had a healthy Wynn I think this game would be dead even.. However it is what it
is Boise is very good and we had opportunities to take control of the game and
couldn't do it. The future looks bright. Go Utes
One things for sure, Ute players need to keep their mouths shut. It must have
driven Kyle nuts to have all his star players talking trash, only to be the
trash that was taken out (by BSU that is).Oh how the (supposed)
mighty have fallen...National Championship contenders in October, to bowl losers
in December...it really must stink to be a sorry old Ute-fan...now, on to
Basketball...oh, I forgot, they stink too! Man, is it great to be a coog fan
right now...and for next year and the years to come: BYU rises further up the
ladder to National prominence as a Indep...Utah disappearing into irrelevance,
and the dark depths of the PAC12 basement. Where's all that MUSS excitement? Oh,
that would be gone for a good long time...
10-3 Season is nothing to be ashamed of. Utah's Defense played like a Ute
defense should have and played a great game. You cannot expect to hold a team
like Boise to under 3 points for 4 quarters. Offense needed to step it up today
and they failed. Not Having Wynn hurt the team and it definitely showed,
however, Cain should not be blamed for the lackluster performance on that side
of the ball. Receivers across the board failed to haul in easily catch-able
passes. This team will rally and we'll be competitive come next season in the
Pac-12. Good Job Utah on a SUCCESSFUL season.
Y fans, you're bragging about finishing 5-1, with wins against NM, UNLV, CSU,
and UTEP? It might be better if you would say "thanks UT for taking
one for the team, we wouldn't have fared much better."
A couple dropped TD passes and penalties that prevented TD's were all that stood
in the way of a Utah win.Utah dominated the first quarter - first
time Boise has been held scoreless in almost 2 years in the first quarter.Boise made more plays, but they were not necessarily the better team.
Dear Kyle,Please keep your coaching staff in place. I love watching
the zone read hand off never work. I can't wait to watch Winn run it again next
As I said before it is clear BYU became the best team in Utah by the end of the
season. No ifs and or buts there.
Remeber back to when the Utes were #5, wearing cami-uni's, with Bronco slogans
on the back, and gameday was at the RES?I man, cami gear is supposed
to make you disappear.I just didn't know the Utes would take it so
Chris B man you are A Clairvoyant. I knew you had a 3 in your predication how
can you be so correct all of the time? Alka Seltzer must be
selling well after that nauseating performance
With all of the UTAH holding calls it looked like a boxer trying to hold his
opponent to avoid the knockout blow but it happened anyway
Kellen was much M00RE effective than CAIN. In fact CAIN was not ABLE to do much
he was kind of QUIET tonight
And the local DI stores will once again be full of ute gear.
Boy, I'll tell ya what...College football takes some crazy turns. It's a long
season, and it seems like forever since the Utes were murdering people and the Y
was embarrassing all their fans. Things change.
Bwaaaahaaaahaaaa! While enjoyable to hear about (I didn't bother watching this
snooze fest) it really is an embarrassment to our state. What a shame that the
flagship university of our state put up such an embarrassing and humiliating
performance on national television. But of course every time this year they were
on national tv they humiliated the entire state. If this is the best
we can get for our tax dollars then I want a refund. This is going to
be even more humiliating next year as this terrible offense, with a terrible qb
and terrible wr's, goes to the pac10 and maybe lays a goose egg. Man
what a humiliating final score.
Dave SUtah got enough lucky bounces and fortunate calls to beat a
7-6 team at home by one point.I'll take a 5-1, bowl winning finish
in a rebuilding season over a fading 3-3, bowl losing season anyday. All Utah proved by beating BYU 17-16 is that Utah was vastly overrated and BYU
was underrated.BYU's strong finish and quickly maturing QB bodes
well for the Cougars as they head to Independence.Utah's weak finish
and questionable QB signals trouble for the Utes as they head to the PAC 12.
Chris B: what do we need to mark down again?Aggie84: JC who?
Bummer of a game, but a very good season season to be a Ute. 10-3 is a great
compliment to the hard work the team and coaches put in. Best wishes to Wynn,
Williams and Cullen. Heal well and let's go tear up the Pac-12 next year.Go Utes.
I usually enjoy watching both the Utes and the Bronco's play football,
especially in the post-season. Tonight's game however, was an ugly contest, with
7 turnovers, blown calls, dropped passes, etc.Congrats to the Utes
finishing their season at a very respectable 10-3. It will be interesting to see
how the Utes respond to next year's schedule upgrade. I hope fans will be
patient with them as growing pains are likely.I feel bad for Boise
fans though, because next year they will become victims of the retched mountain
tv deal. Your team will disappear to many viewers who have enjoyed them play.
You guys act like they should be better. utah/Byu fans alike just accept the
fact that your just not that good. Yeah maybe once in a blue moon you happen to
make a little noise but consistently year in an year out you can't compete for a
BCS title. So the fans need to tone it down and keep the expectations on a
Re: SportscenterCorrect me if I'm wrong but didn't the Utes beat
your Kitty Kats almost a month ago. I wouldn't bring up season records if I
were you. I'll take 10-3 over 7-6 any year.Good luck in your
conference of irrelevance next year.
Uteology always falling for the BYU bait. Just tell us what you thought of the
game, how your prediction worked out for you, how much money you lost to BYU
fans, the (p)outlook for the team next year. Come on this is your chance to put
in words how you feel. So defensive all the time. Act, don't just react!

The big difference in the game was team speed. Every time I thought Utah was
going to make the corner they would simply get run down. BSU's defensive line
was very quick also. They just have a good team this year and Utah was
outmatched. Congrats to both teams and good luck to the U in the PAC 12. Show
them what kind of ball we can play in this part of the country.
@worfBYU underrated? News Flash:Utah was
horrible down the stretch. In four games we scored 30 points of which 17 were
on BYU.As bad as this season was for Utah, it could be worse we
could have finished 5th place as a mid-major like BYU.
Boise was just a better team. They have been better all year, look at
comparative scores such as with Wyoming etc. There is no shame in what
happened, it was predictable.
Here's a prediction for Chris B. By the end of the next football season, the
Utes will not fill their stadium as fans turn against them for losing to many
games. It's all smiles when victories come from cupcakes and heartburn with the
Congrats to Boise. Good luck Utes. Seasons are over. On to the MWC and the
PAC12. Maybe you can have a rematch next year.
That was the worst I have ever seen BSU play. I guess it was more than enough
Despite my best efforts, I really enjoyed watching "The Mighty Utes"
humbled tonight. Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of fans. Enjoy that PAC
attack next year. Be careful what you wish for. What elite players are going
to want to come play for the conference doormat?
Well Aggie84, no worries mate, USU will get a chance to start a new losing
streak to the Y next year and if the aggies take one every 20 games or so, it is
just nature evening things out.

My heck! What a game. I was hoping it would be closer than that. I lost
interest at the end of the second quarter. Utah better pull their stuff
together if they want to be competitive next year. I bet we see Chris B. in the
BYU article comments next year - but under another name.
Congrats to the Utes for having a good year. Sad about today but hopefully a
good building experience. For both BYU and Utah this was a year to prepare for
the big adventures coming up next year. Best of luck!
Utah set ANOTHER bowl record tonight!3: The lowest points ever
scored in the Las Vegas Bowl.Tough loss tonight.
re:chrisbTell you what, you do the same.
Growing up in Logan and living in Idaho. My favorite team is the one playing the
Y. Aggies clobbered the Y and got clobbered by BSU. I think the numbers prove
who the better team is and are. BSU will continue to dominate as they leave the
WAC. Thank you BSU for winning and sending more money to the Aggies. The U is
heading the same way their basketball team is heading ---- South. That is a sad
state of affairs. Like I said, my favorite team is the team playing the Y. I
still think Jimmer is overated. JC Carrol would thump him in a one on one. Merry
Christmas one and all.
Chris B.--What are you talking about? Over under over under over under? Yes we
get it!Utah overated---BYU Underated.Always thought your
predictions were bias, and now it shows.
What a great way to watch my favorite team (BYU) and least favorite team (Utah)
end their seasons. Next year will be even better.

the U better hope that 2011 in the pac 10 doesn't start like 2010 ended. The U
is going to be playing USC and other elite schools week in and week out - no
rest. Tough graduation to the big time. Better be ready.
Wheres all the Yewte fans that have been talking smack on Boise for the last 4
years. 5-2 all time against the mighty U. Too bad Boise didnt show up until the
2nd quater or it would have been a complete blow out. 2 should have been
touchdowns taken away and we win by 40! I thought Utah had superior athletes
faster and stronger then us.LOL! Like I have said before Boise gets better
recruits and has a much better Coaching staff. Have fun getting hammered in the
PAC12, While we continue to move forward and to more BCS bowls in the future.
I don't think I have ever seen a football team sleepwalk into a bowl win. But
that is what BSU did tonight. When was the last time you saw a team turn the
ball over 4 TIMES and still win by more than 3 touchdowns? It was like BSU was
toying with Utah all night. So Utah will go to the PAC 12 next year.
It seems like they are going to fade into obscurity for awhile.
Severely disappointing watching Utah's offensive execution. Dropped passes were
sickening. Things will be rough in the PAC-12 for a few years, then
better recruits will make Utah a real contender in a few years. I am
not sure I understand the trash talking by Cougar fans. As if beating up a
junior college-caliber team in the bowl is worth trash talking over - not to
mention losing to Utah. But hey, whatever.
Most Ute fans I interact with knew this would be a difficult test and a likely
loss. You held Boise to only 26 points, but your offense was pretty
weak. That is too bad because you have some good weapons. The drops killed you
when the margin of error was so small.Better luck next year except
for Sept 17 in Provo.
@ Chris B 8:52 p.m. who stated:TDS fans: Go worry about your own teamThat's what everyone says to you however, what goes around comes around.
We did worry about our team and we won. We met a team with
supposedly equal talent and we won, big time. Utah met a team with supposedly
equal talent and lost, big time. It was funny how that wide reciever
"Christopher" was calling the Bronco team a bunch of chearleaders. I
am sure Coach Whittingham will have a talk with him. You can bet
that most likely BYU would not have beaten Boise State but the fun of it all is
that we will never know but we do know that Utah could not. Boise
State is good and deserves all the credit.
Washington State is petitioning to get Utah changed to the PAC12 North.
Chris B: "TDS fans: Go worry about your own team"...says
the Ute fan who incessantly comments on BYU articles in the DNews.
Where is Chris B? He is the definition of "fair weather fan".
Chris B | 8:52 p.m. Dec. 22, 2010 Salt Lake City, UT TDS fans:Go worry about your own team ------------------Really...... This from a guy (?) that spends the majority of his posting time
on the BYU message boards? HEHEHE...
Cris B. | 8:18 a.m. Dec. 22, 2010 Sandy, UT Utah 34Boise 24I'll be reminding you all of my predictions for months to come after I
am right.===May I, Chris, be the first to point out that if
you drop the 4 from the Utah score, your prediction was pretty accurate.Feel free to remind us....
ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha what a joke uties bosie dropped more TD's than the uties
or it would be 37-10.
I can't believe there are ute fans thinking if the utes just played a little
better this game could have been close. Utah didn't belong on the same field as
boise. the score should have been 42 to 3 if boise hadn't dropped so many
passes and shot themselves in the foot so many times.
Boise State proved why they were ranked so high. Utah did not have
sustainability and it will be many years before another bowl appearance.
Boise deserved a better bowl that the Vegas Bowl.
Myths disproven this year:--Kyle always wins big games.Biggest game in the history of Utah =Biggest beatdown in the history of
RES--Utah knows how to win bowl games.Only Top 15 bowl
opponent Utah has played (besides Alabama) = Major BeatdownUtah's
bowl streak, like Utah's mid-season Top 5 ranking, was built on cupcakes.
Chris B's predictions make me laugh. The Ute defense played well at times
and with the turnovers they created in the first half they should have been
ahead by two touchdowns by half time. Too Bad Utes.
BSU 26 Utah 3=Big OOPS! I think Utah has more to worry about than just trying to
get a quarterback to heal up.What happened to sportsmanship,
especially at a bowl game! What a ridiculous showing for both teams.
Utes were just outplayed by a better team. The first quarter showed
all the signs of a big upset waiting to happen. Lots of enthusiasm. Turnovers.
But then the luck ran out.It was not the humiliation suffered at
the hands of TCU. That's a good thing.Good luck to the Utes next
year. Most of us can hardly wait to see how well they'll play.
Way to go Utah. Embarrass two conferences in one game. The MWC and the PAC 12.
Utes have a lot to work on if they will impress anybody next year.
Of course, another way to read things: if Utah does well in the PAC 12 then we
will all know how weak the PAC really is.Utah is trending down. BYU
is trending up.
Utah should have lost their last five games.
Mark what down?
Tough game against a WAC opponent.. but things will be better next year in the
PAC-whatever. I for one will not hold my breath.

Zoobies.....take a deep breath! Nevada clobbered you in Provo this year AND beat
mighty Boise State. Go Wolfpack!!
Thought the Utes had them in the first quarter. Too bad the game is four
quarters. Better luck next year--oh wait--there won't be a next year(in the
MWC)! Guess it will be up to TCU to beat them and run laughing all the way to
the Big East. BSU will be left with most of the WAC they just tried to get away
Bottom line is Utah is the little brother to BYU and little sister to Boise St
Whittingham lost control of this team - allowing all the pre-game yapping to
take place. The whole Las Vegas bowl was an embarrassment to the
school, team, and fans.
That thud you just heard was all those Hatu fans jumping off the bandwagon....
Well I must admit, I expected more O from Boise, but I thought the same about
Utah.My prediction 52-24 was only a jab at how BYU handled UTEP, but
Chris had to go for the bait and now he is out for a while. Utah has
much more talent than showed on the field, this loss can be put squarely on the
Head Coach. He needs to rewind to the TCU game and figure out how to stop the
unraveling of his team that started before that game. They must have started
believing the press clipping and eying the polls. Utah is not the
first, it has happened to BYU and other programs that have started to believe
the hype. Now they have to right the ship and move on. I wish them
luck in the future and I will make the 9 hour trip by car (maybe 1 hour in the
plane)to watch the BYU-Utah game in Provo next year.Good night and
Merry Christmas to all.
If Utah's recievers could hold on to the ball, it would have been a different
story. Shakey makes as many bad plays as he does good plays. Utah beat
themselves and beat themselves badly. I thought it would be a much bigger rout
than it was.
How sweet it is! Total domination! The u must end the season unranked...they
may not be ranked again for years!
Pretty sad national showing for the new PAC 12 doormat!Maybe Ute
fans will learn from this and stop proclaiming themselves 2010 national champs
or 2012 Rose Bowl participant. The arrogance is embarrassing. You
think tonight was tough??? Wait until next year.
Congratulations to Utah for holding Boise State to only 26 points. How many
teams have done that in the past couple of years? Got to be a
bittersweet victory for the Broncos since they are one of the top 10 in the
nation and snuffed out of the BCS money. Looks like they will bring their
dominating program to the weakened Mountain West Conference and continue their
winning ways. I would expect the Utes, Cougars and Frogs are happy about their
exits so they won't have that automatic loss every year.
Utes Defense A-, QB B+, O-Line/WR D-. Ouch. If the line or receivers show up
the Utes had a chance. Lots of dropped passes. O-Line holding, bad blocking,
penalties.Coach Whit had a great game plan. QB did everything to
get the ball to his receivers. Boise's Kellen Moore will play in
the NFL. Very accurate and smart.
*Shrugs* Could've been worse. We had a worse margin of defeat to Notre Dame and
hung in there much longer than we did against TCU. We'll be fine.
Great smash mouth defense by the Utes . . . for the first quarter. The Utes do not belong in the top 30 let alone the top 20.
Utes so over rated. horrible recruiting for the receiving core. My heck the
Boise State lineman are faster then Utah's receivers and the receivers for Utah
can not catch the ball. Fire the coaches.
You've gotta hand it to the Utes - they played a great first quarter. Too bad
their talent only extended that far.
Ha ha ha ha ha. What a fraud!
To everyone's good buddy, Chris B:I believe you've got a lot more to
worry about with your own team than any of the TDS contingent.
Oh Chris B...Humble pie or Crow? Which will you dine on tonight? You ute
bandwagoners will be jumping off for years to come. I only hope you can keep
some fans in the stands and not embarrass yourselves. (Except deer hunting
weekend of course. You get a pass on that weekend.)
Fire all the Utah Coaches and please get some new receivers who can catch the
Rock, you must have missed the memo about the friendly wager Chris and I had
yesterday. He agreed to bow out gracefully for a month if the Utes lost by more
than 9 points. Don't worry, he'll be back.
Chris B, we are all anxiously awaiting your next comments.
Chris, the game is not over yet, but that is the best you could come up with for
a parting shot??? I'm crushed. "Go worry about your own team"???.
Come on man!! I think I can speak for most BYU fans when I say, "No
Cheap shot.. Helmet to helmet! Should have been an eviction.
I hope none of you haters are BYU fans. The only thing worse that a troll like
Chris B is someone who responds in kind. Mark it down!I have
tremendous respect for Boise State. They have fielded BCS caliber teams year-in
and year-out. A couple of missed FGs vs. Nevada doesn't change the fact that
the rest of their team can crush anyone!

Oh, man - he pushed it to the right. Another lost opportunity - but look at the
bright side - you still have 3 points and at least it is not a complete shutout.
And another good thing - there are thousands of people in stadium
watching your boys. That's a real positive.
TDS fans:Go worry about your own team
Well. . . they haven't quit. But they can't get any offense going. At times it
looks like they're trying to block 15 blue shirts. And we just missed a field
goal. Oh well, they're both good programs. Boise's obviously better tonight.
But if Boise wants to be a real college football team, they have to get rid of
the blue field.
At least the OL has shown they know how to hold, that was a good defensive PI,
should have been a no call. Even if Utah scores, Boise will score three times
before the Utes score again.
It is great to see the Ute fans being humbled. The offense couldn't do a thing
if it weren't for the holding by the o line. Go Boise! (PS - I'm not a BYU
This Utah team is an embarrassment. The don't belong in the same league as
Boise... Oh, wait they ran away from bsu in every way possible!
NO OFFENSE!!!!!Kwhitt, your in a BCS conference!!! get an OC who
knows how to play/teach the game!!!
Oh, darn, utah fumbled the ball again. Shucks. And just when they made a good
play, too.Oh, and "the hammer" Doug Martin just picked up
@Chris B aka the wizard of oz:Dude - mark it down.23 to
3 with 8:02 in the 3rd. How's that workin' out for ya??Well - at
least there's basketball. Oh, wait.
Pray.....! The Baptism by Fire has begun....
I can't believe the officials did not overturn that fumble by Smithson. He was
clearly down before the ball came loose.Apparently the officials are
redeeming themselves by ruling Boise State fumbling the ball out of the endzone,
even though it was clearly recovered before crossing the end line.
The Utes proved last year, they could not defend the seam route, (George is
still running), but twice in a row? Maybe Kyle needs to shake things up himself
up on the hill.
Cannot wait to stick it in Chris B's face after the game, the Utesies Offense is
pathetic with a ginormous P. BSU took a half to finally settle down and now you
will see a BSU team light it up in the second half. Bowl streak goes down in
The rout is on! Good thing you have run away from playing BSU in the future.
And it's on to the conference of chimps!
the glory days at the U are a thing of the past. oh wait.. we can still go see
some womens gymnastics!
SPEED KILLS.......Boise State Speed is killing the slow Utes....Take Martin the slowest running back on BSU beating the Utes fastest
player Chapman to the end zone and beat him by ten yds after Chapman angled him
but could catch him.....
SportsAuthority,You can mark down one of the best 2nd halfs in all
of the college football season by the Utes, coming up.Shaky's going
to get start things off with a return.I'll be reminding you for the
next year about my right prediction.
I stick by my prediction:Utah 34Boise 24It's going
to be a shootout in the second half, with lots of trick plays from both
sides.The bowl streak continuesLet's go MUSS - I
couldn't be there - make me proud!GOOOO UTES
So much for Utah's bowl winning streak.Utah had a chance until Boise
State's offense found their rhythm. Now, the only drama left in the
2nd half is how big Boise State's beatdown of the Utes is going to be.Mark it down!
Utes looked good early but couldn't get touchdowns.I don't think
Utah's Offense will be able to score enough points to win the game.
