Whenever I read about the 49ers coaching the past many years I hear circus music because they have been such clowns. Hopefully Alex Smith can get to a good franchise as a backup next season and go from there. Smith's time in SF reminds me of Steve Young's time in Tampa in terms of playing for a horrible franchise with very little chance of success.
