I'm sure UTEP is looking forward to beating BYU on the 25th anniversary of the Miner's victory (while one of the worst programs in college football) over the defending "national champions" in 1985. BYU should wear the royal blue to honor that tremendous loss.
Menace,
Youte big meanie, go cougies!
There are two possible high notes that could conceivably come out of this game for BYU. First knowing that the season is finally and mercifully over. And secondly... hopefully that someone in the Athletic Director's department is seriously aware and considering that the Offensive Coordinator's door does swing both ways. Not only to bring them into the program but to also see that they leave when the time comes. Portland State would certainly be good place for Mr. Anae...Dontcha Think???
All this game will succeed in doing is give two teams a couple of weeks extra practice and a scrimmage match to build on for next season. One will remain above the .500 mark while one will fall below. The only people who will even care are the teams themselves and their fans...and of course the...incessant rabid uteys who can't help but foam constantly at the mouth getting their 2 cent tooties printed in a DN BYU blog. For the rest of the Normal and Civil Utes out there I hope the Utes bag them pesky little Smurfs.

@MenaceToSociety, nice use of "scare quotes," dude. For starters, "BYU" didn't create the "system" that was in place in "1985," they simply had to "work" within that system. Second, BYU was the unanimous "champion" in 1984-1985, which is a "feat" that other champions *didn't* always achieve. There has never been an "asterisk" next to BYU's "championship," unless you are applying an "asterisk" next to all "champions" that are crowned by judges/computers/polls/etc (along with college football, throw in diving, figure skating, Miss America and the like into the championships that are crowned that way). I'm definitely in favor of that kind of asterisk.
Well, I am probably going to be the only person that will see this. So . . .
BYU 48
UTEP 12
Other than that, lights out.
Wear your T-shirt, Bronco. Go Cougs!
