The Jazz are getting back to their usual dominating ways at home. But what I see as the difference this year is that 7-2 road record. Sweeping the southeast division recently helped that number a lot. If they can continue that kind of road record they will exceed 60 wins - my prediction.
Keep working hard, stay focused, it is a long season. The Lakers have lost 4 in a row, that does not mean that they are a bad team, they are just running cold, it happens to the best teams, right now the Jazz are finding some chemistry and are starting to come together. I think we might have seen the best of the Lakers and we know they are the team to knock off still, I dont think we have seen the best this Jazz team can give, we are playing good ball, so keep the momentum up and let the snow ball roll all the way through the summer time, no melt downs! GO JAZZ!!
What a great start to the season! I am just a wee bit concerned about what will happen once Memo comes back. I hope we don't have a stretch where we try to "gel", and go on a mini-losing streak. The West is too strong a conference for any type of losing streak. Hopefully, Memo will blend in as he always has and we will continue our winning ways!!! GO JAZZ!!!! BTW, I am an avid Faker hater, and am enjoying immensely their current 4 game losing streak!
Opponents FG Percentage
03-04 .432 Before Boozer
04-05 .458 Boozer sign the the Jazz
05-06 .449 Boozer was injured most of that year
06-07 .455 Boozer Healthy
07-08 .461 Boozer misses only one game
08-09 .464 Boozer Injured Most of that year But AK did not start.
09-10 .449 Boozer plays his best defensive of his career
10-11 .425 Boozer Leaves Utah and the Jazz are again are a good FG% defensive team
The Difference between .425 and .45 in a games is about 4 points a games.
The Jazz have bought into Sloan's Defense - Foul a ton. Don't give up easy lay-ups, force the other team to be Jump Shooting Team out of rhythm. The biggest play in that 4 games out east was when the Jazz were up 2 with 30 second left Jefferson was screened off Horford who rolled to the basket. Millsap rotated Jump high blocked and fouled Horford - who missed both free throws
Boozer never rotates. Millsap does. With the Defensive they Jazz are playing, (the increased rebounding of late) the Jazz are capable of battling for the best record in the west.
I had the same thougth as anonymous.111 last night. I wonder if we will struggle when Memo comes back.
I'm hoping that they work him back slowly so there isn't a drop off. I think he should just start off with about 5 or 6 minutes a half with the second unit and they can see get his fitness up and let him build chemistry with this team.
AJ and Millsap are too good in the starting line up to mess that up.
Go Jazz! Beat the Mavs!
re: Good stuff blauch.
You mention the difference between the FG% is about 4 points a game. Coincidentally, or not, the average margin of victory in the NBA is typically between 3 and 4 points a game.
Go figure.
The help defense last night on a few possessions was absolutely staggering. If you were watching literally every Jazz man helped the helper. It has been alot of years since I have seen it happen. Its contagious and fortunately we got rid of the guy who wouldn't help which caused others to not want to help.
I hope it continues because the defense was smothering at times last night. Indiana was literally bottled up.
