I liked his response to the people who say, "We shouldn't be spending $$$ in space, when our economy is struggling right here".... And his observation that... THERE AREN"T ANY STORES, FACTORIES, ETC, IN SPACE... None of that money is spent in space... Every cent spent on the space program has been spent right here... in OUR communities... stimultaing OUR economy... and providing OUR families jobs, and getting LARGE ammounts of $$$ back circulating in the private sector.
The Government also doesn't have stores, factories, etc... The money is spent and ends up back in the private economy (instead of being stuck in the Government coffers).
Projects like Space and Military research and spending are GREAT ways to introduce government money back into the private economy!
Shutting down NASA costs thousands of PRIVATE jobs (people and companies that supply NASA with everything they need).
The same goes for the Military... they pump TONS of money into local economies to pay people to build and deliver the equipment and supplies they need to do their job.
Every $ NASA or the Military spends is NOT wasted... It goes right back into the economy!
