I wonder how the guy on the MNT network that predicted a 4 touchdown for Utah feels now

yewtah fans, especially patriot, please!!! The punt that hit the BYU special teams player, and BYU's fumble inside their 20 had nothing to do with what utah did. BYU gave you the game!!! Also, send Anae thank you notes for not kicking a field goal on 4th and 1. utah was outplayed and got lucky, admit it!!!

Does a win count for more if you win by more than 1 point?
Is it true you cant spell whyner without the Y?
Y fans why cant you admit you are jealous of the fact that the PAC 10 picked Utah over the Y.
BYU had the opportunities to win the game but couldn't make the plays. It may be the coaches fault but the referees and the review officials did not prevent the players from making plays.
The good thing about all of this is the fact we don't have to wait an entire year to see them play again.

You state that every previous game in this rivalry has been settled by the players on the field. Do you mean except for the one (1998 I think) where the Ute receiver (Steve Smith I think) caught the pass that should have led to victory a few years back, jumped in the air and swung his arm and was called for celebration, then the ensuing field goal hit the goal post? Where the same kick from closer was well within the uprights? That was settled by what? A celebration penalty... plain and simple!

@ Pele,

Haha, jealous? I can't stand the Pac-10. Utah will fit in well. Right between Washington St. and UCLA.

It kills me all these Ute fans, once hawking a blowout win over such a "BAD" BYU team... are now the ones so prideful of a 1 point win that was pretty much given to you by the refs.

I mean, congrats on the win, but to be so big-headed about it is really something I can't understand very well.

What's up with Matt Martinez shoving Mitch Payne after the blocked field goal and the Utah coach having to pull him away? Really? you're going to go after the kicker, how brave of you.

I really like coach Whitt and his staff, and I respect most of the Ute players, but that was bush league.

It doesn't matter if you win by an inch or a mile winning is winning.

Utes, you did a great job fighting through adversity. If the refs had been on top of their game and got all the calls right, you would have had won by a couple scores, but we appreciate these close games. It keeps us on the edge of our seats. Just please don't do it to us too often.

This is the way tradition ends. Not with a bang, but a whimper.

I guess I'm too unsophisticated to find defensive battles "thrilling." As usual, both sides performed well and just as we thought the end was determined one team flipped it the other way.

It'll be fun to see how things develop in the future, but I'll miss these season-end battles.

@ wwookie...

Very comical, even for a Ute fan.

Watching the Utes win off a gimme was sad.

Watching Wynn throw half his passes to the sidelines was fun.

Knowing we have Heaps for the next few years as opposed to Wynn is great.

Watching Wynn trip over himself at the first of the game... priceless.

Not as priceless as the look on Payne's face as he watched his kick bounce off of Burton's hands.
