The Defense Department survey should of asked every Veteran and Voter in America for their opinion in this matter, seeing it's their tax dollars funding them. Women are still barred from many combat roles, including the infantry and so to should be the gays. Much of the debate is likely to hinge on the results of the Pentagon study?. But not the majority of the US People?. Oh I'm sure the Democrats and Republicans will be disagreeing on procedural grounds. Congress "funds the Military" only, the President runs it. The Democrat Congress has agreed with Bill Clinton (who never served in any Military) to let gays serve only if their sexual orientation remained secret.
Maybe while voters consider Chuck's proposal, we can also have them vote on which country to attack next. That makes as much sense as having a vote on keeping a sexual preference qualification for military service.
