hmmm, I guess all those classless comments from BYU players after some of these rivalry games are considered to be ´classy´ in the cougar dictionary.

It is amazing how these little cougar fans are in a fantasy world of their own.

Here´s an idea, just start making derogatory comments about you opponent, tell your fans how much better you are than anyone else and wallah! you have a national championship team every year.

...Wait, that only works at BYU. gullible, gullible, gullible. drink that blue juice cougs. we do like it, despite all the comments we make about it.

Come to RES and see what real fans do and what it means to support your team. It isn´t about tearing down your opponent, but about building up your own team.

Go Utes!

Two great football programs will meet. The players will play with everything they have. Fans will cheer and scream and panic and be exalted in joy. Then it will be over.
Some will be happy,
some will be disappointed.
No one will switch sides.
And some, will still be insufferable because they think their boorish rants and juvenile diatribes pass for intelligent commentary.

Really? I thought you had to win the NC on the field...my bad. However, if you would like to see what the NC trophy or Heisman looks like in person, you are more than welcome to visit Provo, and the Premier university of Utah, BYU, as both trophy's reside there.

wwookie,

Are those "real" fans the ones that boo thier own players and leave at halftime when "their" team is losing? Are they the same ones that stay away from the stadium in droves when anything other than an undefeated season is in progress?

ute "fans" are a joke. They are widely known as nothing but front runners and BYU haters. There isn't one true fan for the utes. Evidence? Well just head up to the huntsman center this year and join the other 3000 "fans" at the game 1/2 of which got a comp ticket.

Yea those are real fans LOL

4 comments above and no Utah haters as wwookie is suggesting. I think he makes crap up just to get a response.

This game will be a classic for the ages. It has all the ingredients for a close game. I hope it comes to the wire like the last few games have gone with BYU as a winner.

The next best thing about this conference game is being able to get out from under the MTN network's grip on (lack of access to) TV coverage. This is the last game I will not be able to watch.

Go Cougars.

Hey Duckhunter, better check your ego at the door! Wasnt that long ago I went to cougar games during the Crowton era, LES was anything but full, went to BBall at the marriott a couple of times before the current coach, the announced crowd reached 6K(I think it holds 22K plus)Less than 5K in the seats. And the cream on top was at the Fiesta Bowl Running into Multipile Diehard Y fans dressed in UofU RED cheering on the Utes. Thats a Bandwagon Frontrunner! Frontrunner..

Huh?

What time did you start drinking this morning?

The smallest Crowton crowd was still bigger than the biggest crowd utah has ever had. I will agree with you on one point, there are ute fans that were BYU fans, yes those are the frontrunners that simply latch onto whoever is doing well. I know several of those. That is what typifies a utah fan. There are very few real utah fans they simply consist of BYU haters and frontrunners. Sounds to me like you must be one of those if you were spending time in the Marriott Center and LES. Typical ute "fan". LOL

Do you realize the irony of your comments?

AK Cougar, thank you for proving my point. Anyone reading Duckhunter´s comments would conclude that you again make up crap to make your team look better. He obviously is a ute-hater.

And about leaving at half-time, check out LES even with the cougars winning. Too many people wanting to beat that traffic jam after the game. I grew up in Utah county and am very familiar with byu fans. Give money, buy season tickets, but don´t even go to the game. Ask them the name of any player other than those that made it to the NFL and most will never remember them.

Anyways, I´m starting to become a little preachy.

Utah fans support their teams, know their names and the fact that they want their team to win a champtionship ´on the field´ is not a bad thing.

When you let a team hang around, and you only collect 3 field goals instead of touch downs this is what can happen. Heaps and company stayed true to the season norm by not finishing in the red zone.

Perhaps they can fix this huge weakness for the independent season coming up in 2011.

Some times it is better to be lucky then good.

Re: Cali Coug
Nope, there was a team in 1984 that proved you don't have to win it on the field. All you have to do is barely beat an un-ranked, Big 10 third place team and have it given to you! Of course, we do owe that team a thanks because the number 1 ranked team now has to beat the number two ranked team to win it... which we all know would not have happened in 1984. Happy fantasy! :)

PS I am not a Ute fan. Just a local transplant that really gets a kick out of reading this entertaining dialogue and who appreciates the earned national championships by Nebraska and Oklahoma.

@ Weber...
Earned titles? Corrupt regimes with Osborne and Switzer. Wonderful human beings like Christian Peter and Lawrence Phillips and Jamail Holloway. Graduation rates that rival the unemployment rate today.

UN and OU were paying athletes long before it became fashionable like Auburn, Florida and USC. A brain transplant might be in order now.
