BurtReynolds, who cares about soccer and tennis. How about their gin rummy team don't leave them out.

I Agree sun devil! The rams are also going to be tough in boys tennis and boys soccer this year. Their tennis team took it all last year and their soccer team has one of the best defenses in the state.

How are Claydude's posting not along the lines of taunting?

Wow what a game! Great time to be a Highland Ram dad! Fish and Sionna are studs. Nate is an animal. Glad to see him finally reach his potential. Looking forward to basketball and watching Nate again. They have the potential and talent to win state in basketball as well...all returning starters.

Wow, Fakafua most definately showed why he is headed to the U.

I just wish MC's Pickett could have played the whole game. He has been a playmaker all year as our #1 WR.

I definately think he could have had an impact on the outcome of the game had he been able to go in the 2nd Half.

Great job to both teams fantastic game!!!Highland did not do it's self any favors on defense by all the off sides. But they did get robbed a touch down, #7 was clearly in the end zone, ref called him out of bounds. Not only did Highland have to beat a very good Mountain Crest team they had to beat the refs also..Great job Rams. Shame on those refs very one sided calls in the game, and what a heart breaker for Mountain Crest very well played game..Best State game I ever witnessed..

As one not tied with either program, all I can say is what a game. Amazing clutch plays by both teams all night long. Fakahafua is an incredible talent.

Regarding the "janitor hanging the banner" comment:
That is a direct quote from Mt. Crest's own fans on the comment board this year regarding how there wasn't a team around that would stop them.... "and their gym being filled with so many championship banners that they have had to pay the janitors overtime to hang them all". Just wanted to remind them of how past arrogances can sometimes come back to haunt them. Childish? I think now in this case.

I agree that it shouldn't have gone to overtime but more from Highland mistakes (overthrown touchdown passes, personal fouls and other silly mistakes) than the refs. I am a fan of Nate and Highland and my son played basketball with Nate but I don't blame the refs for the holding call... it could have not been called but it was not wrong by any means. The touchdown catch ruled out of bounds however, was wrong... but I had the advantage of replay on television. Now, regarding the "janitor hanging the banner" comment... very childish!

Great game!! Both teams played well. But it never should have gone into overtime....Bad calls took two touchdowns away from Highland....Mt. Crest got lucky. But hey, Mt. Crest, don't look at it as losing a second straight state championship game....look at it as saving money. At least you won't have to pay overtime to your janitors to hang up another banner in your gym.

Good job Mustangs! Congrats to Highland, you played an amazing game. Kuresa should have kept the ball for the two point conversion. If it was in his hands, he would have scored.

Wow snake bit, dejavue, whatever that dark cloud is that is hanging over MC as well as Hurricane is thick, black and ugly, these schools just can not shake the the monkey off there backs.

Sione, Anthony & Nate you guy's put on a show that was terrific. Yes I know you need your team mates to win this title but I must saw you three clutch play makers are simply the state play off stand outs, heads above the other games thank you for such an entertaining game.

Anthony Smithson story book ending to your life in Highland Ram Black & White you are something special. As well as Sione stepping into the starting roll after your team mate goes down. And of course last but no way the least Nate Fakahafua simply spectacular.

Thank you Boy's you are what makes this game Great !!!

One of the best games of the year. Both teams played some fantastic football. Could of easily been Mt Crests game as well. Great finish to a exciting season!

Mtn Crest had them 4th and 10 in OT and they gave up a TD pass. That was the difference. Mustangs simply couldn't hold them when they had to. Highland proved they could on the final play of the game.

What a game. There is not a kid in this state that can guard Fakahafua one on one. Mr Football for this state no doubt in my mind.

Great final game to end the season. Highland does not give up, we learned that with a 16 point lead to start the fourth quarter at Pine View. They have some of the best playmakers in the state. Fakahafua is a big play guy who loves to be the go to when the game is on the line. Congratulations Highland!
