Just remember that, all these recent calls by so-called civil rights and gay rights groups to end school bullying is at best, politically correct, and at worst, hypocritical.
Take a look for exapmle at any number of stand up comedians who have made a career mocking and poking fun at people because of their religion or political beliefs, then five seconds later turn around and say, "It's wrong to belittle others."
Kathy Griffin is a perfect example. She is one who frequently goes on TV and preaches against bullying, yet in her comedy routine (if you want to call it that) she has frequently made cheap shot jokes aimed at the kids of Scott Brown, Sarah Palin and George W. Bush.
Imagine the outrage if a comedian poked fun at Obama's kids in the same way.
Comedian Wanda Sykes also preaches against bullying, while at the same time makes jokes at a White House dinner about Rush Limbaugh's kidneys failing. At those are tame in comparison.
When it comes to school bullying, the message I get from the left is loud and clear.
"Do as we say, not as we do."
The NAACP is doing the right thing.
As for the group itself being racist?
Evidence please.
I will now show my evidence that the NAACP is still very much needed.
*'Study: African Americans Paid Significantly Less Than Whites' - By Boyce Watkins, PhD - Aug 3rd 2010
'The U.S. Census Bureau just released a study stating that African Americans earn far less than whites. The study also concludes that there has not been much progress in reducing the gap in pay. Per capita income for African Americans is only $18,054, compared with $28,502 for white Americans.'
*'Invisible Men: Many young black males are in crisis' - by Ervin Dyer, Pittsburg Gazette
'...high school, black males are more likely to drop out; in 2001, only 42.8 percent graduated from high school, compared to 70.8 percent for their white counterparts.'
If the message from the left is 'Do as we say, not as we do.'
Then the message from the Right is:
'We don't care.'
Part of the definition of bullying is that it comes from a position of superior power. Most of us whites are still unwilling to recognize our continuing social and economic dominance. We shouldn't mind comedians poking fun at us at the top. We're supposed to be able to take it. Bullies target those who are down. Bullies target those who are down.
The same goes for racism. How do you call a member of a minority racist when all she seeks is equal opportunity and recognition as a human? If we are offended at criticism toward our dominant culture, maybe it's because truth hurts. It's time to acknowledge our advantages and share them with others.
Sometimes a group has outlived it's usefulness and only does harm instead of make things better. The NAACP is one of those groups. They only divide people so they can function. "No unity whatsoever" is they're motto.
Bullying isn't a way for the NAACP to acheive the supposed purpose that they have but do nothing but go against it by bullying other and seeking division by race baiting. For real peace in America hate mongering groups like this need to go.
