Yep, it's going to be a wonderful b-ball season...in Provo anyways.

Hopefully I can see many games here in Texas.

We have some work to do. We have had two games in a row where we struggled early (first 6 minutes) to not only score, but even to get decent shots.

The good news is that in both games we figured it out and would have scored 100+ had we left the starters in.

We just can't find ourselves getting behind against really good teams because of slow starts.

Other than that, we are deep and played good defense.

A great sold out game to attend, with a massive student section.

It is a shame that it wasn't televised due to the corrupt MWC, but I understand there was a nice women's game on that I'm sure had a lot of interest. Flying out of LA Thursday I was on a flight with the women's team from Loyola (LMU), headed to Idaho State for a game. Talked with some of the coaches and they expressed their excitement at having our teams join the WCC. I cannot wait to get out of the MWC.

Great to see Cleve back in the MC. The crowd was great. Emery missed a lot of 3s early. Once the long ball started to fall the inside opened up. CA dunk on a lob from Jimmer was sweet. Fill the house against the Aggies.

I expected this from Jimmer, but not from Noah. Noah was a beast! C. Collinsworth great on the boards. I think our front line is going to be dominant this year, much stronger than last year.

It was a nice "Welcome to the MWC" for the Bulldogs. Now they will understand what it's like to not get to see many of their big games on TV.

So, basically, it'll be the WAC but without Telecasts.

Your first real test will be how well you can handle the very talented Utah State Aggies in Provo. Should be a very good game.

Re: AggieNation
Aggies very talented? Are you kidding me. Come on man. The Aggies have done nothing yet. The Weber State win at home was nothing. How about scheduling some real teams early in the season; at home and the road. No, they simply pile up wins against nobody teams.

BYU hasn't played anybody yet either. So the same thing applies. BYU has no beef up front, and are generally undersized.

P.S. I am a diehard Cougar fan as message boarders know.

We are exactly one game into a season. No one has done anything yet, and it is about as pointless to start proclaiming teams great as ranking Utah No. 5 in football before any of their good games, or BYU thinking they were awesome last year in their Quest for Perfection before TCU and Utah, etc...

BYU looks good right now, with some obvious weakness in the post that needs to improve. Jimmer started out great. Should be a good season, but let's not praise or condemn BYU until they get a lot farther along in the season than 1 game.

Go Cougars! Here's to hoping you have just as good if not better of a season as last year!

Considering that Utah State trashed BYU last year at the Spectrum, I'm fairly sure that our team is more than capable of defeating BYU on their home court. Look up this video title on Youtube: "USU vs BYU Men's Basketball, 2 December 2009" Watch this and then tell me that our team isn't talented.
