I stayed and watch the game, and I totally agree this kid is a tremendous quarterback, I was in awe of his deceptive speed, accuracy, and ability to shed tackles.

Stefan is a stud.. The kid can play!

Langi may get all the glory, but this kid is the true MVP of this team. This team goes as he goes.

Bingham is lucky Cantwell didn't get hurt. I'm not a Bingham fan but happened to watch the game on TV, and I was amazed that they still had him in the game late in the fourth quarter with the game well in hand! I don't understand it.

Stefan is the real deal! True leader on and off the field. Cantwell is a key part of why the Miners have not lost an in-state game in 2 years. I also think if Cantwell had been used more vs. Trinity last year, Bingham would be knocking on the door of 2 consecutive perfect un-defeated seasons. I agree with Gunner, Stefan is the true MVP for the Bingham Miners.

Stefan is a great athlete, no matter what he plays or what position he plays on he field on that team. Any college coach would love him if they took the time to watch him play! I had the privilege of coaching Stefan in football and baseball, and guess what? He was one of the best athletes we had on those teams and is still a great athlete. He deserves a full ride scholarship to a D1 school. either local or not. These local colleges need to step up and see what they have home grown right here! Get up the good work Stefan!

Cantwell is a great kid and a stud football player, Peck is right, he would thrive at any position because of his heart and leadership. It has been great to see him develop his throwing ability this year. He is a ton of fun to watch.

Couldn't agree more.

I think he is a better athlete than he is a QB. And thats not a knock against him. Hes the type of player the U likes to recruit and switch to another position. Which has worked out for several former high school QBs that play other positions at the U. So maybe college recruiters are trying to figure out the best place for him, before they make an offer. But no doubt about it that this kid is the MVP of the team.

You guys are all missing the point. He is a great High school football player, great leader, competitive, coaches dream and tough as nails. But a D-1 college player I don't think so. D-1 players have physical advantages he has none. He is not fast, big, quick, strong arm etc. I love the kid and have seen him play live a few times but D-1 is another level. As quarterbacks go I don't think he is one of the top 5 QB in the state. Junior college is where he will play and that is a great accomplishment.

Ask Jordans #6 if he is fast, big, quick or strong... that is if he can even remember what happend in the game after he tried to tackle him.

FreddyT, thanks for bringing that up. I've been concerned for Kole Kafentzis since the hit. (I didn't see his number, being at field level and looked his name up on Jordan's roster).
When he went down, for me the outcome of the game became of secondary importance.
Does anyone have news on his status? It's terrible to see a fine young athlete carried off the field on a gurney. I wish him a full and speedy recovery.

@knightrider

Actually it was Cantwell hurting Jordan's players when he was left late in the game. They had to cart one off after he plowed over him. That being said I hope that guy is okay.

#6 for Jordan was fine. Just had his breath knocked out and a bad stinger. He went home with the rest of the team.

It's not to often you see a QB taking out a kid like that.

I remember my son saying he was the hardest one to bring down on this Bingham team he deserves more credit than he gets

He is a stud and a true leader on this Bingham team. When he plays he is remarkable. KRY you say he has all those attributes but you forget that's what makes a great QB. He has everything he needs to go on the next level. He throws the ball well an runs over defenders and I mean all!!! He is D1 material an can make a difference in a team when given the oppertunity. Stefan Cantwell is the Tim tebow of HS football.

FreddyT, thanks for the update. Seeing him on the ground for so long and carted off to the ambulance looked bad so I was greatly concerned. From what I saw of the replay, it looked as if his neck was twisted hard to one side making me think he could have suffered a neck injury. I'm extremely glad that wasn't the case.
Stefan is a great high school quarterback. His numbers aren't up there with others but if not for him it's very likely that Davis would have been the state champion last year. Last year he was a running quarterback but his passing was a bit suspect. This year he's outstanding in both aspects. He simply refuses to quit going for the win, he won't accept anything less.
That, more than anything, is what makes him Bingham's team leader.
