Based on the total deer population for the state of Utah with approx. 465,000 individuals and a current buck:ratio of 15 to 100, the doe population needs to be reduced by about 55,000 animals, give or take a few hundred to a thousand (1,000) plus or minus.
If man-power of the agency under the present economical environment is expected to remain status quo, and 29 units can be effectively and effeciently managed, then I believe this option of(29 units) will lead to more accurate and more effective management of our existing deer population.
