If it all is because we have to keep the southern schools in the same region for
"Travel" so therefore the 3A numbers are a joke, We should just split
the state into 2 states... Utah and Not Utah then u can have the UHSAA and the
NUHSAA I think that solves it! ha
Oh noooo!! Logan is staying in 4A....Looks like they will never get a state
Funny that there were a couple of comments about Orem and Highland winning all
the state championships. Hilarious that someone said Orem will win the next
three basketball titles. A quick history lesson, just last year Wasatch beat
Orem by 26 in basketball and beat Timpview (the eventual 4A champs). Juan Diego
beat Springville, who is in the 4A state title game, in football! There is no
way these schools will compete with Juan Diego in baseball or Judge and Park
City in swimming or tennis. Probably have a tough go against Park City in cross
country. Obviously, they don't have a chance in wrestling.
Westlake#1 fanCmon, those schools have been around a long time.
What an insult to say that you've never heard of them. Let's line up all of the
people in this state who have never heard of Westlake...I will bet that it's WAY
more than people who have not heard of Hillcrest, Murray, and Cyprus combined!
HIJrod - you may want to correct yourself on that Kingsford comment, since Larry
Wilson came in and did a pretty dang good job following him (and, if I recall,
had WAY more success against Skyline). I don't want to get in to comparing the
two cause they were both good, but this is certainly not a nosedive. In fact, I
think that they got better when Wilson stepped in for Kingsford
Do they realize that West in 5A and East in 4A broke one of the hottest high
school rivalries in the state????? And I belive this also means an end for
"Outclass Highland" week at East???... Can't believe I'm now sighing
for the "good ol' days".Go Leopards!!!!!
Well 'ExTBird' the smaller schools in this state that are far from the major
populations, only have the students that are in thier comunitties. If there are
only 300 students ALL the boys that want to, play football. 6' 5", 250 lb
boys are rare among us. There are no tryouts these boys are all we have. Yes
talent is talent no matter the class, but when there are only 20 kids on the
team there are no backup players.
Why do some of you people insist on acting like the "A" rating system
has anything to do with how skilled your team is? Copper Hills is 5A and 0-10,
Granger is 5A and 1-9, Roy is also 1-9. Should we move them all to 1A for being
terrible? Or should we move Duchesne (1A school) to 5A for being 11-1?Bottom line is that Highland qualifies for 3A based entirely off the schools
population. It doesn't matter in the slightest if they take the 4A title this
year or not. Highland fans need to seriously get over themselves. This new
system is not a insult to your school, or your teams ability in the slightest.
It's not the Board of Trustees fault that you tie the "A" rating
system directly to your egos. Also acting like your players now have less
chance of going to college is a completely baseless assumption. Talent is
talent and scouts don't care if it comes from 5A or 1A.
Public of Utah please show up to the public hearing on Wednesday November 17th
to put a stop to these foolish alignments! How is Logan to Provo a good travel
plan? That is 2 hours to and 2 hours back. Why is 5A the only one that makes the
most sense? Does it really even matter? I mean really? In an era of furloughs
why are you forcing schools to spend more money on sporting costs? I say give it
a try, a one year trial and if it doesn't work change it back!
I'm glad to see that some of the misnomers about Highland's strength in things
other than football were previously addressed! Seems to me that the Rams have
actually been to Basketball State a few times recently. More so than during the
tenure of what's his face (80's-90's). After Kingsford the football team kind of
took a nose dive for a while. This was written before Highland crushed
Springlville 46-21. There are some teams that could make it tough for Highland
in 3A. How many of those do they play before state though? How many of them
would have beaten 5A Skyline?
FYI Highland took state in TENNIS last year...
Alignment Part Two:4ARegion 5 - Skyview, Logan, Moutain
Crest, Roy, & BonnevilleRegion 6 - Clearfield, Bountiful, Woods
Cross, West, East, & HighlandRegion 7 - Skyline, Olympus,
Murray, Hillcrest, Herriman, & WestlakeRegion 8 - Timpanogos,
Mountain View, Timpview, Provo, & Salem HillsThe following are
the changes from the alignment the UHSAA has listed. Region 5 none, Region 6 add
West and Highland, and move Skyline and Olympus to Region 7. Cyprus moved up to
5A for West, and Timpanogos moves down to Region 8. Region 8 adds Timpanogos and
drops Springville to 3A.Lowers travel on average 4.5 miles per team
per school for the whole classification. Big winners - Highland: less 100.23
miles per trip, Timpanogos: less 41.89 miles per trip, Cyprus in 5A: 27.54 miles
less per trip, Hillcres: less 13.25 miles per trip. Biggest losers: Springville:
increase 51.53 miles per trip, Continued.
AlignmentMapquest directions for all these schools and you will see
that the over all travel will be less for more schools with the below listed
classifications and regions then the one the UHSAA came out with for the hearing
next week (yes some schools travel goes up, but they go up way less then others
go down. So it's still a positive towards lowering the travel for all schools
combined). The classifications and regions I list below only change schools that
the UHSAA listed as bubble teams anyways. Keeps the rest in the classification
they where put in.5ARegion 1 - Weber, Fremont, Syracuse,
Northridge, Layton, & DavisRegion 2 - Viewmont, Cyprus, Granger,
Hunter, Taylorsville, KearnsRegion 3 - Cottonwood, Brighton, West
Jordan, Copper Hills, Jordan, & AltaRegion 4 - Bingham,
Riverton, Lone Peak, Lehi, American Fork, & Pleasant Grove. The
only change to 5A is Cyprus in place of West. This make almost no difference in
travel for 5A (a 0.66 miles difference per school, per trip). But see the
positive effect having West in 4A has to travel for them.Continued:
Does it sound right to have a Highland football team in the 4-A Championship
game this year dropping down to 3-A? They just dominated Springville in the
semi-final and Springville ran over every one in 3-A with the exception of Juan
Diego. Think about the size of your kids stacking up against a Highland team
that is a lot bigger, deeper and skilled. If our starter goes out we turn to a
125 pound sophomore. Football will take on the biggest impact of size
difference. It will not get kids hurt.
EagleYour proposal might cut travel for 2 schools but it triples the
travel for 6 schools. But I know; 3A doesn't count.
What an absolute joke! North Sanpete, Juab, & Delta in a region with Spanish
Fork and Orem?!?!?! Put these small rural schools (NS, Juab, Delta) together in
2A along with Emery, Manti, Richfield, Gunnison, South Sevier, etc...City
schools have an advantage over rural schools. Keep rural schools in the same
Lehi back in 5A? Really??? They just split off Westlake and are still finding
a their stride as a 4A school again. And Viewmont not even in the mix in Davis
Co.? Shows that even the numbers don't tell the whole story. Once again, the
schools who are on top, get to stay on top and the principles turn a blind eye
Why putting Springville in 3-A is better than Highland?1) If
Springville goes 3-A it still has traditional rivals like Spanish Fork and
Payson in its league along with Orem. Highland will have no traditional rivals
in its league, except maybe Judge nearby, which is a stretch.2) If
Springville goes 3-A it will travel a bit more with two teams in its league
outside of Utah County. But the furthest journey would be to Delta around 50
miles. If Highland goes 3-A they will have to go to Vernal and Roosevelt, 180
and 150 miles respectively. 3) By keeping Highland 4-A you can
create a league where Timpanogos can be shifted to a region with Utah County
teams. This decreases travel now for a third party. If Springville moves to
3-A Carbon is shifted to the region Highland is now assigned. Since
the UHSAA seems dead set on its 24/24/28 model for the top 3 classifications,
understandably tough decisions must come about. But to me, the most logical is
to keep Highland 4-A as it will drastically reduce travel for two schools
(Highland and Timpanogos) vs. one.
In Texas you can ask to move up a classification for sports. So if you are a 3A
powerhouse, you can move up to 4A with a simple request.
UHSAA has been pretty open with the details leading up to the region and
classification realignment for several months. Go to their web site and look at
the power point from August along with the school poulation numbers poasted last
week.We knew the number of schools per classification and that
school 11th and 12th grade enrollment numbers this year would be the main
criteria to allocate schools.I'd have done a couple of things
differently, (re: Highland -> Region 6, Olympus -> Region 7, Timpanogas
-> Region 8, Springville -> Region 11, Carbon -> Region 10) but it's
time to live with the realignment. We know that two years from now
things will change again.
Hillcrest, Murray and Cyprus?!?! I've never even heard of those schools! Where
are they? Plus, why separate the three schools in Orem into 3 different regions?
Well you have to empathize with the UHSAA because they figured it out 17
different ways, and each time they figured it,it was no good, because no matter
how they figured it,somebody didn't like the way they figured it,So now, theres
only one way to figure it,And that is every school for themselves, So good luck
and may the best school win, Except for Hurricane of course...their never
happy....:))Their you go GDOT
I'm not on here saying that Highland is going to dominate 3A because I know some
of those schools in the south are just as good and should be 4A along with
Highland. But I played in a region with Union, Uintah, Park City, Wasatch and
then transfered into highland for my junior and senior year and I'm telling you
that the talent level I experienced was tremendous. I have followed Region 10
these past few years and always keep an eye on Highland and I have no doubt in
my mind that Highland will be the favorite in boys sports in Football,
Basketball and high in Baseball in this region. I however am excited for a
Highland @ Union Football game!
The number of teams in the given classifications is what I question. 24 in 4A
and 5A, 28 in 3A, 20 in 2A. Why not 24 in each and drop N. Sanpete and Delta?
Or why not 28 in 5A and 4A and include some of the 1A schools in 2A? Oh wait, I
see, this is all about keeping the Southern teams in the same classification.
Never mind all my equal the playing field talk. It is not about competitiveness
or number of students. It is about which schools have the most clout. 2A and
1A are after thoughts. Look at 1A Football what are there 6 total teams and one
will be state champ???
There are a lot of comments about how bad this is for SLC and Utah county. Two
years ago St George was complaining, they redrew their boundries and now they
are all where they want to be. Call your school board members redraw your
boundries and in two years your problems with this realignment will be someone
It is strange to see West Jordan in a different region from Bingham. But WJ
hasn't beat Bingham in football since the 3OT victory in 2001. Since then
Bingham has stomped them year in year out.(although WJ gave them a good first
half this year)Maybe some time off will do the Jaguars good, just
like when Olympus and Skyline took some time off from each other.
I think they should have added 8 more teams to 5a and 8 to 4a (32 each total, 4
regions of 8) they still take only 4 teams (half) of each region to the
playoffs. It seems WAY more logical to me. This is a cluster for teams like
Lehi, Spanish Fork, all Orem Schools, etc...
Just to show how STUPID this all is...We want to reduce travel and
align with geography blah, blah, blahSO RIchfield goes 2A and drives
past North Sevier, Gunnison, and Manti to get to a "region" game in
Emery AND NONE of the three they passed through are in their region.CRAZY!!!!And the 3A stuff is an absolute JOKE!!! Hey,
the-powers-that-be, need to start fixing the system instead of 5A & 4A. 3A
has always got the shaft. HEY GUYS...you are on the right track, just even out
the RATIO's at the top, make 4-8 team regions in 5A & 4A and see what
happens.Yep....politics as usual.
Most think the Highland change was the bad one and I agree. Factor in past
competitive performance and it would be better. Wished they would have put Cyrus
and Highland in region 6 instead of Skyline and Olympus. It isn't all about the
numbers, nor the travel, especially if they were talking 5 or 10 miles
ultimately being the determining factor, it's also about how competitive they
are and that should be a factor. Tradition determines how good they are in many
cases and this current formula doesn't.Two years between review is
much better than 4 years, less damage!
Region 4 looks like it will be fun to follow for the next couple of years in
most sports. Regions 1 and 3 look soild, but 2 will be weak come playoff
time.Hope Herriman, Bingham, Riverton will play each other still. I think
that can become a fun 3 way rivalry. Not having West Jordan and Bingham in
the same region for the first time in 30 years looks strange also. I hope that
that game will still happen as well, but I know it will be hard.Hope
Riverton enjoyed all those 2nd place finishes in football because now they will
be fighting just to get in the next two years. Maybe they should have whined
harder this time around also.
To Mary-Cate and POD: Getting recruited for college has nothing to do with what
classification you play in. Just look at any of the sports rosters from any
university in Utah, and you will see athletes from all over the state. As far
as the decision being Mr. Cluff's. I believe it was Highland's principal who
was one of the people who came up with the formula for realignment.
This change for Highland is absolutely ridiculous. Highland has dominated this
region and has even beaten been able to beat 5A schools such as beating Skyline
5 years in a row. They have made it to the championships and are very respected
in their region. The athletes at Highland have been successfully recruited to
many schools and lowering their division will greatly decrease their
opportunities to play at a good college level. This decision belongs to the
school not Mr. Cluff, they have the support of the principals and community. Where does the rivalry lie in this change? The East Highland rivalry has
been recognized for decades, the Skyline Highland rivalry has also been known
and supported. Now the rival is going to be Judge? No way. Their commute is
longer so I don't know what you are talking about.. I hope they are happy with
their decision and I hope Highland will be able to dominate 3A and continue to
produce NFL football players. Good Luck Highland Athletics!
I've read through these comments and it seems clear to me that 3 Orem schools in
3 different classifications, 3 SLC schools in 3 different classifications and
Viewmont not playing anyone in Davis county tells me that the formula was just
wrong. Theres more to high school sports than simply numbers. As a formula,
this is E= Mc³.Beyond sports, however, the effect on the Salt
Lake District, particularly Highland will be devastating. No aspiring athlete
will play for a 3A school. The population of the school will continue to
dwindle and the schools closing seems a real possibility. Even two years of
this will destroy any Highland sports program and, if numbers are the only
criterion, it will never come back to 4A. Failure to consider this will lead to
Bingham and Riverton were slated to go south last time around, and then Riverton
whined at the meeting until the UHSAA switched it over. Putting
Bingham and Lone Peak in the same region is the right thing to do. Both schools
are always good in sports due to the fact that both have larger numbers than
most as well as great socio-economic areas to draw from. The fourth
place teams in the state tourney that draw Region 2's first place team will have
a very legitimate chance to pull off an upset in the state tourney. Region 2
teams would have a hard time competing in 4A, let alone 5A.I like
the regions as they are proposed all things considered, now let's leave them as
they are this time around instead of pulling crazy last minute changes like last
I love how everyone has the "best solution" to this situation. It's
more like your best solution, and what you like most. Problem is, they have to
try and make the whole state work, not just Provo or Salt Lake. I'm sure it's
difficult to take (being from St. George we had realignment issues too) but by
going off numbers it takes away the arguments of playing favorites. So let's
all just shut up, and let the kids play ball. Sometimes I think we forget that
it's not us out there.
JHP--You will be very, very surprised next year.
Nahh man. Hurricane will take the 3A title in basketball. :) A 39-9 record the
past two years isnt too shabby either :)
Re: Big Hapa .. obviously we can read and the desnews edited the story to
include Alta.People .. if you go to the UHSAA website you can see
the enrollment numbers they used to classify teams. They did as good as they
possibly could IMO. The great thing about this new alignment process is that it
will be implemented quicker and will only last 2 yrs before it's re-evaluated.
Sky View and Mountain Crest moving to 4A? Thought they already were 4A. As a
Westlake fan, I wont enjoy the extra traveling to Cyprus, Murray and Hillcrest,
but have to like being in a region where the other teams were a combined 18-33
After watching the Timpview vs Springville game I am really happy to see
Springville stay 4A. I can't wait for next years match up against these two
amazing football programs.I have great respect for the Highland team
as well but even if they some how manage to defeat Springville I just can't
imagine the game being as epic. The season basically ended for me when I say
Timpview walk off the field totally stunned at the beating they just took. Game
of the year hands down. Game of the last few years even!
All three Salt Lake schools in different classifications and all three Orem
schools in different regions. Only the UHSAA could dream up this stuff.Put Highland in 4-A, move Springville to 3-A, move Timpanogos to the
region with Provo, TV, MV etc., move Carbon to the region with Uintah and it's a
done deal. That Region 4 does look like war in sports like football,
volleyball and baseball.
Orem is gonna win the next 3 state titles in basketball.
Highland competes regularly in boys basketball and football in 4A with very
small numbers (last year semi finalist in basketball, this year semi finalist in
football) Add to those small student numbers the fact that a number of students
use English as a second language and never partcipate in any sports. it makes
the school even smaller for sports. It's a credit to the Highland
athletes, students adminsitration and community that they do so well with so few
numbers. 3A will be interesting to say the least.
Hey no name...you live in Provo...JDUB was referring to YOU as city folk...He is
from Nephi...he is the hay bucker...Juab is welcome to come up to the "big
city" anytime. Good luck getting out without a 40 point drubbing.
3A sports just got a little tougher! Having Sp.Fork and the southern schools
together for baseball will be interesting. There are 10 schools now in 3A that
played 4A this year. Regions 10 and 12 look the toughest. I hate to burst your
bubble Highland, but you're not going to win everything, especially the big
sports, boys or girls! As for traveling to Vernal, being from Wasatch, we've
done it for years, and it does suck, especially in winter. Going through
Strawberry in a blinding snow storm makes the outcome of a game seem
meaningless! But the fans from Uintah are good people and they have to make the
drive more than us so power to them! Looking forward to the renewal of the
wrestling rivalry with Uintah.
With smaller regions in 5A, only five region games will be played allowing teams
from all regions to schedule as many as 5 non-region games. Plenty of room to
still schedule any rivalry games where teams may have been split up in the new
alignment.I would just hope that teams schedule all non-region games
before October so no one gets tempted to cancel a game that they deem
meaningless in October.I predicted the Viewmont move to R2 but I'll
admit that I never saw the Bingham Riverton move to R4 coming.I do
think the alignment is good for 5A and look to to some good opportunities for
quality non-region schedule where teams are willing to go out and do it.
@JHPAre you kidding me? What sport is Orem good in? It's not football
that's for sure. Highland won't win at all sports either. They might compete
in some, but you obviously didn't read my previous post.
re: kiaoraguyTimpview WHO?
Awyeaaaaaah!! Go Rams!!!!
Congrats to all the contributors for the lack of Timpview bashing- I'm surprised
someone hasn't tried to blame TV for coercing UHSAA into this mess- I think the
cleaning crew accidentally bumped the HS name magnets on the floor and hurriedly
threw them back on the board- What a freakin' mess
azamatbagatov and ramfan: Are you really going to whine about a sixteen mile bus
trip and finally having to travel more?! the smaller classifications from most
3a schools to 1a travel at least an hour to the CLOSEST school. try a 6 hr ONE
WAY trip to Monticello or San Juan, plus those schools have to travel to every
game. I have no sympathy for you big schools. Welcome to reality. NUGENT/JDUB: I
agree. smaller 3a schools get riped off by bigger teams, and all smaller
classifications get riped off by private schools. I hope the farm kids take it
to the city slickers. We might be from small communities, but we know how to
work hard and know what sports are SUPPOSED to be about, and I can tell you you
can't buy it or work the system. It's not always about winning, it's about
tradition, and being your best.
Highland will do fine in all the sports. They will not take state in every
sport like those people a saying but they will challenge in almost all of them.
Whoever says that springville is more rounded than Highland is crazy and doesn't
know what they are talking about. Highland is consistanly great at Football,
basketball, golf, both soccers, tennis, volleyball and cross country! The only
sport that will struggle immensly is girls basketball. Do some research before
you say things like that.
People, read the article and you would all see Alta listed very first in region
3 focus.Interesting alignments, Viewmont no longer is part of any
Davis county rivalry or affiliated with Davis County teams at all.Bingham actually has some competition, Skyline is a 4A school along with
Clearfield and Roy is back down to 4A where they belong.Region 1 is
now only six teams instead of the 9 it did have. All in all things look more
Hey ramfan, what is your problem with one 335 mile roundtrip to Vernal while
Uintah has to travel that much for just about every road games in the winter.
Get over it or don't come to Vernal with your whining about the travel.
The heavy reliance on a formula, as a means to avoid hard decisions, has shown
only that the formula was inadequate to create a useful competitive environment.
Three SLC schools in three different classifications? Moving schools away from
traditional rivalries? Expensive, long-distance travel for students during a
recession? I heard that the UHSAA considers 700 miles of travel to be
essentially the same as no travel. If common sense cannot be used, reduce the
number of classifications to 3 and do what the UHSAA says it always wants to do:
play where you live.
Not sure why the question on Herriman. They are the 43rd size in 2 grade class
enrollment (821) and 36th in 3 grade class enrollment (1422). They are not even
at the top of 4A. In two years, they should be at the bottom of 5A and in 6
years should be in the top 5 of 5A. This is a great example and justification of
the 2 year realignment issue. It would be nice to have all the numbers posted so
that people don't respond out of ignorance but can comment with facts.
Orem and Highland will win state in every sport every year as long as it is
aligned this way.Somebody needs to knock some sense into the UHSAA.
Highland I kind of understnd but how in the heck does Herriman end up in 4A?
i feel for Lehi in football. Hilcrest coach was worried about kids getting hurt
what about the kids at Lehi, they have lost like 29 games in a row wow, wow. IDK
what to think.
What I am waiting to see is how well the country kids in 3A stack up against the
city kids in 3A. Won't that be a great matchup! I hope the video gamers get it
handed to them by the hay-buckers.
Every year the best 3a schools are just as good as the best 4a schools and most
of the 5a schools in most sports, there are just fewer good schools in 3a.
So what the UHSAA is saying is that schools like Orem and Sp. Fork are pretty
much the same size as schools like Sanpete and Delta. I know that not every one
can or will be happy with the new realigment, but hasnt these small 3A schools
done their time already and dont they deserve a shot at being the Big Dawg in
Coolbrees and SLC boy, Get ready to be embarrassed fellas. Really
like Coach Benson and the HHS program, but you won't even be the best in your
region. I'm delighted HHS is gonna be in 3A though and I'm sure PV, Hurricane
and the rest of Region 12 can't wait to get them on the schedule.
The move to 3A does not guarantee any titles for Highland. It looks like a tough
region with PC, JD, Judge and Wasatch. the only guarantee is long distance
travel to see the games. I am not looking forward to 335 mile round trip drives
to Vernal to watch basketball in the middle of winter.
I can't wait till Manti VS Wasatch Academy when do tickets go on sale I'm sure
that will be a sell out. and I agree the North Sanpete Vs Spanish Fork baseball
will be one of those nail biters. I wonder has SF even lost as many games over
the past 5 years as NS has won. dought it.
yea, that's pretty funny having 3 Orem schools in 3 different regions.
I think it is ridiculous to put Timpanogos in a region where the closest school
is 16 miles away. You want to take away travel concerns, put Springville in 3A
and they can keep their rivalry with SF, and move Highland into Timpanogos'
spot, and put Timpanogos in with the UC schools and keep the rivalry with MV.
Really? Putting Orem, Mountain View, and Timpanogos in 3 different regions is
the best they can come up with? Time for Alpine School District to realign the
boundaries for the high schools in Orem so we have a decent amount of students
at each school.
I hate to see LCA forced back to 1a and stir up issues that their voluntary move
up to 2a had resolved.I hope the board will think this out instead of hiding
behind a rigid fomula.
How many teams from each region qualify for play-offs in each sport?
Region 4 looks strong 1 and 3 look balance 2 looks pretty weak. You can never
make everybody happy, but this has been one of the better ways to split the
classifcations. It will be weird seeing Skyline in a lower
classifcation.I hope Riverton Bingham and Herriman will keep playing each
other for the next two years. That can becomme a fun 3 way rivalry.WJ and
Bingham not in the same region for the first time in 25 years was werid to see.
I hope they can keep playing but making it happen will be hard.Next
2 years should be fun to watch in all 4A,5A sports.
Highland will not win a title in any sport 3A, 3A has beat a lot of top 4A
schools and Highland isn't the best in 4A the ONLY sport they will win their
region in is Football and that is touch and go with PC, and Wasatch. They
don't have a chance in basketball, definetly not baseball, wrestling, and soccer.
Girls sports I am not sure how they rank. Don't be embarrased when you don't
win against 3A teams just be humbled like Springville was this year when Juan
Diego beat them in football and when Wasatch beat them in Basketball last year.
3A is tough and will be a challenge for them especially if they have a chip on
their shoulders when they go into the new alignment then you will be humbled for
Looking forward to that huge Spanish Fork vs. North Sanpete baseball rivalry.
I really don't know why the Highland principal is throwing such a tissy. The
only sport that Highland is good in is football and boys golf, besides that they
are sub-par in the majority of their sports. Springville on the other hand is
good in football, softball, both basketball teams and baseball so they have a
better rounded sports program overall.
Region 2 looks a little weak? Other than that it looks pretty good across the
SLCBOYGood luck with that prediction. It seems to me Pineview just
gave Highland everything they could handle, and they beat Highland last time.
Hurricane beat PV pretty convincingly earlier. The new region 12 will dominate.
Alta is in Region 3 with Brighton and Jordan. There was discussion about Alta
and Jordan staying in Region 4 with the Utah County schools, but it was decided
that Bingham and Riverton needed a turn traveling around the Point of the
The winner of this game should stay in 4A
Horrible. They are taking all three Orem schools and moving them to
different regions. This would be a complete joke.
wow bingham and lone peak in the same region... That's going to become a big
rival between all sports. They will be fighting for region in everything. I'm
sure bingham is happy. Lots more compitition then in the weak region 3. I can't
believe spanish fork moved down... They are a 4A school all the way.
WOW why would they do that to the RAMS. oh well here comes a bunch of state
championships for usGo Highland beat springville on friday
Obviously, they forgot to include Alta in Region 3, which is the only 5A with 5
teams, so Alta would make it 6. Highland should be able to dominate 3A or it
will be embarrasing.
I like the division of traditional power schools in regions 1, 3 and 4. Hate to
see the Bingham, West Jordan rivalry diminished by being in different regions.
Is it just me or does region 2 look a little soft?
Alta is left out. Are they in Region 3?
So is Alta in Region 3?
Alta must be getting promoted to the collegiate level.
pretty tough looking region 4
