One of the best defensive performances I've seen. The Miners will need to step it up another notch on D to keep Jordan down next week. Plenty of pressure on their QB will be key to them winning I believe. The offense wasn't needed much in this game, but did enough to let people see the number of wepons available. Too many turnovers though. 2 more for the storybook ending Miners!
good thing Tausinga plays rugby - he obviously knows what to do when the ball gets in his hands!
Overwhelming tour de force on the defense. Fun game to watch. Binghams Offence can't take another two weeks off if they want a championship.
Jordan won't score. 56 to 0. Roll Bingham.
I tip my hat to Bingham for their dominance within the Utah high school ranks. Northridge is arguably the best team in Northern Utah (it took 2 OTs to decide the Fremont game) and they came out with a game plan that gave them the best chance to win. Northridge got off to a fast start, but Bingham did not even flinch when they went down 7-0 and then lost a subsequent onsides kick (that came very close to putting the Knights up 14-0). Bingham is unbeatable. I doubt whether one of their remaining games will be competitive. So, the only question remaining is this: would you rather lose to Bingham by 40 plus points in the quarterfinals, semifinals, or finals? The second place trophy should go to the team that keeps it the closest....
Went to the game and was very impressed by Bingham's Defense. Wow. NOTE TO JORDAN. You need to tackle Harvi on the legs. Period the end. He will run you over if you do not. I came away impressed by Bingham's ability to break tackles (Both Langi and Cantwell). Northridge was in position to make a stop at the line and they would break the initial tackle and get 10+ yards. on Harvi's run he was hit at the line of scrimmage by a blitzing LB and he ran him over and went for 60. At least Bingham is going to play the one team in the state that can test their secondary to the max. I see a Bingham win 42-21
Kameron: You also posted Northridge wouldn't score. You were wrong and you will be wrong again my friend.
WOW, is all I can say, Hats off to this Bingham team. I walked away shaking my head and thinking this may be be the most amazing HS team ever. I used to scout Texas HS and I'm pretty sure if Bingham gets another chance to go to Texas they will be ready. This by far is the most mentally tough and best coached team in this state. They got down and never missed a step. I watched NR play Fremont and Davis and I agree NR is the best team in the North. I dont care about the score Diddy. Fremont is very predictable and will not get past the talent they will face soon. I'm finally convinced, Bingham is untouchable this year. Hmm, Wonder if Bingham could beat Weber state..HAHA,
If you guys like shows get ready for a big one. Jordan is coming to town! Sure bingham will score, but jordans defense is better than years past, and the offense well...you aint seen nothing like this before! We like to call it the Greatest show on Turf!
Will be a good match-up for Bingham as Jordan is realistically the only team IMO that has a chance to pull an upset since they can put up so many points.
But, I don't see it happening at all and think Bingham gives up a few TDs but still wins big: Bingham 52 Jordan 26
With Alta losing Hamilton, I wouldn't be surprised to see Bingham win 4-5 straight titles to match Skylines run.
Anybody else still think Langi only benefits from a good O-line? name for me any other RB in the state that could run a 65 yd TD while pancaking half the opposing team. His single greatest run he has ever made to date, and I have seen every one of his runs for 3 years now. Bingham will not be stopped, this was notice to all other teams that you better have the game of your life to beat them and you MUST score at least 40+ points. What a great game!!!!
Jordan will be a fun opponent, their QB is a big kid and can throw the ball, but they will get an onslaught just like we've seen all year long.
#22 for NorthRidge was a complete stud for gutting it out on both sides of the ball all game long.
Nice to see Truth Serum has finally seen the light.
@whoisjohngalt
ha ahaaa ha Nice try, but its the other way around for you and Jordan, I guarantee Jordan's D has not seen anything like this Bingham Offense, they have weapons a plenty, tell me who you stop? Langi, Cantwell, Smith, Measom, Inoke, Fackerel, on and on and on and there's no need to talk about Bingham's D, Jordan has NOT seen a D like this at all this year. In the past the Bingham/Jordan game is always a shootout, not so this year, Bingham's been hearing this all year long that this team or that is now really going to give them a challenge, hasn't happened yet. And I won't believe it until I see it.
MINER DYNASTY!!!!!
@yahke doodle. What your saying is exactly what Davis said. Then Cottonwood said the same thing after we beat davis, "you havnt seen this guy and that guy blah blah blah" And look what happend. Sure you will probably score. but what im saying is get ready for a 56-52 game. Because we will move the ball at will.
When I suggested that Northridge was arguably the best team in Northern Utah, I must admit I was expecting a better counter argument. Is the best counter argument that a win is a win? That sounds like an argument from someone who is not very confident in their win. Nevertheless, this process of give and take is what constitutes the very definition of an argument. Even if one disagrees about Northridge being the best team in Northern Utah, it seems a bit contradictory to suggest that what you are arguing about is....well, not arguable.... :)
There sure is alot of yak from the diggers who only managed to score 13 points against an very weak Alta team. I don't think the Miners will overlook them and I think Jordan is going to be surprised at just how tough it's going to be to score on Bingham. I think Hill is going to have that deer in the headlights look on his face when Bingham's D comes flying through their O-line.
What a beat down. I sat on the Knights side of the field. They were pretty stoked after the first few plays of the game. Then reality set in and that was all she wrote. This miner team is so good. Many weapons and many good kids. Notwithstanding the stupidity of a couple of their starters and thier brushes with the law this team is full of great kids and greater young men. Northrigde is a class team with a very gracious coaching staff, and their fans were supportive till the end. Good job Northridge. Keep up the good work coaches.
I wouldn't go that far Yankee. on that particular run Harvi looked great. BUT it doesn't hurt to have his line either.
Hey Truth Serum. Here is some 'Truth' for you. Don't mix up the D-line with their O-line, which is their biggest weakness (if you are really looking for a weakness).
Langi does benefit from good blocking, but he makes people miss. If #5 played for other schools, those fans would be all over these boards saying they had the best back in state. Langi and #5 make that O-line look better than they are. Harvey has speed and power and makes defenders look silly.
Last year's O-line was much better. They lost 3 kids that were 2 year starters. One was the best lineman in the State and Mr. Utah. Their TE was awesome last year and I heard he walked on at BYU. This year they have 1 returning full time starter and moved over a D-lineman. The others are big and strong and seem to do a great job, but nowhere near the talent they had last year. Their line coach has got to be the best in the state.
Fact Check: Obviously you know absolutely nothing about O-line. The stars you refer to from last year, only one could spell his own name, and he plays for the Navy. 300 lbs is the only reason the other two were recruited. Manifested by the fact the the QB and center continually explained each play at the line of scrimmage. This years O-Line lacks 300lbs players but allows BHS to be a full balanced attack. Any Defensive schemes from the past were difficult, this year all plays are being used. Not just 47/46 blast, where you just blow open the line and the RB takes over. Its too bad you don't understand more. This year the O-line is a single unit that makes few mistakes. Compare previous years passing yards, third and fourth down conversions, sacks allowed, BHS class of 2011 is far more superior. Conformation of this is easy. Ask coach Peck, Chatlin and Lamborne. Its nice to have a complete O-Line that cumulative GPA is 3.6 and higher. Football is complicated. Truth Serum is right; Great RB but it doesn't hurt to have that O-line. Go Miners.
