you should never overlook an opponent. When you get to the playoffs any team can get hot at the right time. Play each game like is your last game and with any luck at all you might get to play your last game in the championship.
I am a football official here in the state of Wyoming, and we had a similar situation with Evanston. They were playing Cheyenne East, who they had beaten about three weeks earlier 42-0. Evanston was the #3 seeda and they were at home and they were very confident. Cheyenne East was the #6 seed, and had struggled all year. East went into a tight formation and ran right at Evanston, catching them off guard. With great coaching and the players executing along with 3 Evanston turnovers the Cheyenne East team beat the favored Red Devils 30-20
You just never know what will happen, that is why they play the game. How can College football not have a playoff? Playoffs are one of the most exciting things in sports.
Strangest thing..."people" speculated that Hurricane "threw" the Cedar game so they could have the easier side of the bracket! ITS THE MOST PREPOSTEROUS THING EVER WONDERED ABOUT! Only someone who would do that would accuse someone else of doing that. The point is that these are young men and sometimes, no matter how good they are, they have let downs. Cedar had a let down and it cost them this year's shot at a state title. All coaches and teams have gone through similar situations! It is a driving and motivating force for many! Cedar is a very good football team and will be in the future. That loss will motivate them next year.
Let's go Judge!!!
Go hurricane!!!
even with the loss to cedar i still felt that it was always hurricane's tournament to lose this year. finals will be juan diego hurricane just like the past two years but however the outcome will be different this time. 2010 state champs: hurricane tigers
Why does the upset of Cedar leave the tournament wide open? It's been a two horse race since the beginning of the season, Juan Diego and Hurricane. Cedar was over-achieving all season, good job to them, but that kind of streak only lasts so long. Good luck Hurricane and Desert Hills, let's hope for a Region 9 show down at Rice Eccles next week.
